This is a world like no other, one briming with mystery and teeming with danger, filled with hundreds of islands strewn across vast seas. And throughout the seas are those who live according to their own rules, who seek a life of freedom and adventure. This is a world of pirates, the one's who seek that very adventure, wealth, fame, and power.

On that very day that Gold D. Roger was executed in his hometown Logue Town, another powerful being went down with him into long lost, but not forgotten ashes. The one who could wield life itself, move the seas, and change the world, was now only ever heard about in history or the very scrolls that was made for it.

With the dismies of this unmatchable power, and Gold Roger's final words, both of them changed the world forever. A new age was born, a new vessel was born. The Great Pirate Era, setting off a race across the seas to find the Pirate King's hidden treasure, the One Piece. And at the same time, no one was prepared to witness the rebirth of the long lost devil fruit, one that was now running through a certain (H/C) haired pirate's veins.

EAST BLUE SEA, PRESENT DAY

As the sun sets over the East Blue Sea, a realm of wonder and mystery unfolds beneath its azure wave. The East Blue, one of the four seas in the Grand Line, is a region teeming with beauty and peril, where both dreamers and pirates embark on their journeys.

In that very vast ocean somewhere on it, was a small dingy boat float across the water as it had a hole in a piece of wood, that was now filling up with water. Two figures were actually inside that wooden thing, one of them being a male with brown hair wearing a straw hat, as he talks to his sister beside him, and the mail bird that perched up on the side of the boat.

"Ever since we were kids, Shanks would tell us stories about pirates and their adventures." Monkey D. Luffy looked up from underneath his hat on his head, smiling brightly at the massager bird, "so, yeah, the sea's been calling."

A soft grunt came from the girl sitting down beside him on the boat, Monkey D. (Y/N) flicking her hand out sometimes to bend the water spilling into the boat back into the sea, "Well, not really calling, because pretty much we can't swim." She corrected her brother, and makes a weird face of annoyance, "Which is ironic, since I can control the damn thing."

She also had a straw hat on top of her braided hair with the string hanging down, wearing a Yucatan white shirt that had buttons going up her chest, followed by memsahib shorts that reached just up to her knees. She had black boots on that went up to above her ankle, a small bag full of her stuff and Luffy's around her shoulder, and a few handmade bracelets around her wrists.

"Yeah, but you get the idea." Luffy grins widely with a head pat to his sister, picking up the bucket he was using as he pours out more water, "We're setting out to follow our shared dream, to find the One Piece," He raised his arms up high in the air, yelling loudly and proudly, "and become the Kings of the Pirates!"

(Y/N) slightly covered her ears from the sudden yell from her brother, it echoing around the vast sea. She looks up at him through the brim of the hat, and gave him an incredulously stare, as she continued to bend out water.

He chuckles innocently at her expression, going back to picking up water with the bucket, "All we need is a loyal crew, two isn't enough. I think about ten men should do it."

The bird squawks when she went to gently scratch under it's chin in greeting with a smile, and tipped her head back to Luffy in reminder, "Or woman, both would be very good for our crew Lu."

He hummed in agreement from his spot at the back of the boat, as he stood back up to point a finger at the bird with his sister, "Well, them and a bird." He corrects himself, scooping up more water to throw back into the ocean, "It's not gonna be easy. The ocean is... is pretty big, and kind of dangerous."

The messenger bird wearing a sailor hat with a small front carrier full of papers, jumps onto the rodeor of the boat beside (Y/N) more, who was gathering a bunch of water in the air to bend out of the boat, knowing it was going to sink very soon.

"So what do you say?" Luffy asked the bird as it squawked again, and he stepped onto one of the brawlers with his hands on his hips, "Are you with us?"

Bird just tilts his head to the side in confusion, squawking once more at them both in a goodbye of shorts, before taking leap off the boat and flew away from the siblings.

(Y/N) scoffed softly to herself watching the bird fly away, standing up in her spot with a small pout as she thought the two had bonded, but turns out not, "Mutiny, wow." She grumbled as Luffy grabbed her outstretched hand to stabilize her figure.

It was quiet for a few seconds on the boat expect for the waves around them hitting against the boat, until it picked up into a louder sloshing sound, and a crack followed behind it. The siblings shared a wide eyed look, turning their attention to inside the boat as more water was flowing it now from the sides, which made all their supplies float above a little.

"Awh c'mon, not the food-" She whined in protest seeing this happening to the carets, knowing the supplies she had in her bag wouldn't be enough between them two, as they both really enjoyed their food.

Luffy pulled his sister by the arm to near the back of the boat where it wasn't as bad, lifting up his leg to kick over two tied together barrels with a grunt, as they both tip over open for them to use.

"In here (N/N)." He ordered quickly lifting up both of the wooden objects up straight, and placed them flat against the boat as it held them steaied for his sister to slide into.

She grimaced to herself not wanting to do this, hesitantly taking off her straw hat so it wouldn't get ruined, and grabbed Luffy's hand to help her hope inside of it. Once she was squatted in it uncomfortable, he placed the top over it tightly, and climb into his own one tied to hers, making sure the lid was also over the barrel.

"Oh man." His voice echoed through the wood as the boat they were both on was now sunk, leaving their barrels to float along the waves towards their next destination, "It's our first day."

Later on that same day the sun, a molten sphere of fire, descends towards the horizon, casting its warm farewell across the ocean. Its creates a shimmering golden path on the water's surface, as if inviting all who dare to sail those waters into its embrace.

Loud snoring came from one of the tied together barrels still traveling along the water, as Luffy was sound asleep which was normal for him, while (Y/N) was wide awake inside her barrel reading something that was given to her when she was very little.

A small flame of fire was in her open palm to give her a little light inside the darkness, her (E/C) eyes gazing over the old book's words, that was now said to be a long lost fairytale. It was the very little information about the Nine-tail devil fruit, that said to be erased when Roger died, or well that's what was written in the pages.

She flicked over the page once she reached the end of one, and moved her flame over the picture that stared back at her, one of an ancient orange tailed beast. A red-orange coloured kitsune with black fur around its red eyes that stretch up to its ears, and nine long swiping tails.

A weird feeling staired around in her heart the more she looked at the picture, and felt a familiar tug towards it that caused her to slam the book shut, and wave off the flame in her palm.

Whatever that weird familiar tug was, she never liked it and didn't want to find out why that was the case. Yet from the moment she was born, she felt different, and knew that as well from how everyone told her that all her life.

Shaking away those exhausting thoughts she slipped back on her straw hat, as she placed the book back into her bag, and went to move her back against the wood more comfortable.

Though before she could however, a startled yelp escaped her lips hearing canon fire from either side of her barrel, and manvoured herself around to peek through the little hole on the side.

"Oh, no-" She whispered yelled to herself seeing different group of pirates fighting each other on their ships, as another yelp escaped her when the barrels they were in had now gotten picked up by something.

She pressed her back to the barrels other side in fear knowing they were getting pulled onto one of the boats, and mentally screamed at Luffy for getting them stuck in this situation.

Two men working for Alvida lifted up the barrels the siblings were in, slipping it up into the opening of the pink boat. Once they were rested on the wood, two more pirates came to pick up the barrels and walked down the ships deck with them until they arrived underneath where all the other supplies were.

At the same time Alvidia was interrogating some of the captured pirates from the other ship, and had them knelt on the deck asking where the pirate hunter Roronoa Zoro currently was, as she knew he was on that ship before she attacked them.

......

Koby was under the ship he was held captured in by the cruel pirate captain Alvidia, as it was now fully nighttime across the East Blue ocean, and he was cleaning her weapon in some water in a bucket.

He slowly picked up the drench heavy, spiked Iron Mace from within the water, holding it in one hand while he used his other one with the brush to wipe it clean. While he was doing that though, a sudden groaning sound and a loud bang was heard from over in the barrels, which caused him to pause.

He placed down the objects in his hand onto the floor, standing up from his spot as he cautiously moved around the corner to see two moving barrels side by side shaking. A stomach growling was also heard from them, followed by a muffled girlish laugh from one of them.

"Who's there?" Koby asked nervously while holding the brush as a weapon, and strolled over towards the barrels at the back. His breathing came out faster when he arrived in front of them, which they were still shaking around with something inside them.

Not even a second later one of the top parts of the barrels came flying off at top speed by the air, as (Y/N)'s head pops out of it soon after, and Luffy appeared out of his next to hers. All this caused Koby to scream seeing them, and rushed away from where they were, which made the siblings share panicked looks.

"Hey-! Wait-" She tried to call out to the screaming male fleeing away from them, pressing her palms onto the barrels side to lift herself up out of it, and run after Koby with Luffy right behind her.

They both squatted down in front of the younger male on the floor against some sandbags, as Luffy lifted his hand to place over Koby's mouth, "Knock it off!" He made a shushing noise, and Koby nodded his head frantically understanding.

(Y/N) nudged her elbow into her brothers side seeing that motion from the shaking male, her straw hat hanging around her neck by the strap as she gives a reassuring grin at Koby to show no harm.

"Please don't kill me." Koby feebly begged them both with his eyes flickering between the siblings, and swallowed the lump in his throat, "Please."

The pair in front rapidly shake their heads hearing this coming from his mouth, as she shuffled forward more now to take over, "Hey, hey. It's alright, we're not gonna kill you, okay?" She smoothed while raising her hands a bit to his arms, "I just need you to be quiet."

"First things first though." Luffy shoot up straight in his spot feeling his stomach rumbling, and directed his head towards storage below deck, "Do you have any food here? I'm starving, and so is my companion." He stated while looking into a bucket hanging from the roof.

(Y/N) smacked her forehead gently at her brothers ways, sighing to herself quietly as she kneeled up from her position to dig around in her bag for something to give him. Once she found an apple she had stored, she walked over to where he was, and passed over the food.

"Alvida doesn't let me eat until after she finishes her meal." Koby tells them watching their display from on the sandbags still, and fixed up his glasses around his face.

"Who's Alvida?" Luffy questioned with a mouthful of apple, happily eating the food his sister gave him to munch on, and offered her some that she declined grimacing.

"This is her ship." Koby dropped his voice into a lower one to not be heard from up top, pointing a finger to emphasis his point to them, "She's the captain of the Alvida Pirates."

(Y/N) almost ended up tripping over back into a barrel on the floor as they were talking, which caused her to stumble into her brother's side yelping, who easily caught her with one arm, "Oh, that's great! 'Cause we're pirates too."

"You guys don't look like pirates." Koby commented unsurely in a judgmental way, as he saw how she almost fell over and how Luffy was sniffling a bottle of substance that didn't even smell the best.

"What do they look like?"

"Pirates are scum." Koby answered Luffy with disgust, voice filled with venom that also was expression on his face, only knowing that as he has experienced the bad side of pirates, "They're thieves and murderers."

(Y/N) looked up from inside of her bag around her shoulders, giving her brother a knowing look as she faced Koby with a bright grin chuckling out, "Not the ones we know."

......

WINDMILL VILLAGE, 10 YEARS AGO

Today was the day Shanks and his crew would be getting back from their pirate vogue, and the Monkey D twins couldn't be more excited to see their hero in all his glory again after so long.

Their large ship was pulling into the harbor and docks of the village, as all the crew members were working on it to gather their supplies, and short it out before having to leave again.

"Work fast as the breeze, men!" One of the crewmates called out in order, him carrying a few crates of stuff as he placed them down with the others near the side of the boat, "Captain wants this haul to the traders by nightfall."

Off near the back of the ship behind some of the masts full of ropes, two familiar younger figures of (Y/N) and Luffy appear, as they had hopped onto the boat, and now hid together to watch the crew together.

"Before those Marine bastards get back on our trail." Roux, another one of the crew commented as he also had stuff in his hands, and had a piece of meat stashed under his chin to ea afterwards.

As he walked with too many boxes of supplies, two pieces of if ended up falling off the top which made Shanks quickly catch them both in his hands, "Easy with these, Roux." He scolded holding a small treasure chest box, and a old ripped book that had a chain around it, "These are worth more than the rest of the loot put together."

"Aye, captain."

"Pretend it's a leg of lamb." Shanks jokingly advised sarcastically walking away with the objects in hand, and turned his head towards his crewmate grinning, "You wouldn't drop that."

All the pirates laughed hearing their captain's words, which made the siblings laugh quietly together where they hid, and shared a smile between each other.

Luffy's gaze moved away from his younger sister towards where the barrels were, and grabbed her hand to lead her towards one, as the two got to work and pushed to object to where the other stuff was.

"(Y/N)! Luffy!" Shanks calls out in greeting when he spotted the siblings on the deck, and past them to ruffle the top of the girls (H/C) hair with a smile, "I was wondering when you'd two pop up."

She huffed through a small annoyed pout as she pushed away his hand, making his smile become bigger down at her, and left her alone to push the barrel again with Luffy towards another crew member.

"Our favorite little genius, and street urchin comes to welcome us back." The man grunts taking the wood from them, turning back around to grin at them as he playfully pinches (Y/N)'s cheek, and ruffles Luffy's hair, "How ya been kids?"

"I'm not an urchin. We're pirates!" Luffy protests with a foot stomp, pulling back his sister away from the male to by his side protectively, and his words caused all the pirates to laugh humorously.

(Y/N)'s eyes scanned over the crowd of pirates from behind her brother, her smaller hand gripping onto his sleeves shirt as she smiles brightly spotting Shanks passing them again. And it made her rush up to his legs, tugging on his cloth material to gain his attention.

Shanks hummed feeling the sudden tug on his pants, making his head tilt downwards to see who it was and was met with her sweet smile, while her arms were raised up to indicate up.

Luffy panicked slightly when he didn't spot his younger sister beside him anymore, but calmed down once he saw her with their role model Shanks, "I'm not joking. I'm ready to join your crew, and so is (N/N)!"

"The sea isn't a child's game." Shanks tell him straight forward carrying a barrel of something, as his other arms was holding (Y/N) against his hip like usually for them, "It's dangerous. The scars on my face are proof of that."

He hands the barrel to one of his crewmates, and pointed to the three claw like scars that rake cross his left eye to show what he meant. At the same time (Y/N) had one of her arms wrapped around his shoulders, as she fiddled with the material of his straw hat, and glanced curiously at his scars, which she found very cool to have.

"I can do it, Shanks. I swear." Luffy insisted with furrowed brows, stopping at more carts full of treasures they stole from their adventure, as his dark eyes land on his giggling sister in Shanks arms, "(Y/N) can do it as well, you know how smart she is compared to most."

The red haired pirate paused in thought hearing that, turning to look at her resting her head against his shoulder now as he frowned protectively, "She's not even close to being ready, and so are you."

"I am. And I'll show you!" Luffy declared with confidence, a glare taking over his features as he stomped off towards a different part of the ship to prove his worth already knowing his sister was save with Shanks.

(Y/N) lifted her head off of Shank's shoulder seeing her brother walking away, as she tilts her head cutely and frowned in confusion, "Where's Lu going?" Her smaller voice questioned, catching the adults attention.

"Probably to do something silly, don't worry about it sweetheart." Shanks assured the little girl in his arms gently, adjusting her on his hip more as he lifted up a piece of the treasure he found, "Here, look at this."

Her (E/C) eyes went wide in awe spotting the piece he had in his palm, face brightened up with a giggle as she took the pretty handmade bracelet from him, "Am I allowed to keep this, pleassseee?"

He chuckled amused at her drag out of words, reaching up to softly pinch the edge of her little nose, and grinned in answer, "Of course, it's yours now."

She scrunched up her nose feeling his hands on her, releasing a small sneeze that she covered once he removed the touch, and continued to gawk over the piece of jewellery in her palm.

One of the crewmates came up to them once their interaction was done, and knew that she would be distracted by the bracelet for now, "Might want to take it easy on him, Captain. They both have no family expect for each other to speak of. They're on their own."

"Better a disappointed kid now than a dead one later." Shanks retorted while closing shut the treasure chest full of objects, and picked it up with one arm grunting, "Let's get this done. These men need a drink." He handed the chest to the other male, and caught a whiff of Roux's smell passing them, "And a bath."

"Hey, Shanks!" Luffy's voice called up from somewhere high behind them, causing silence to fall over the boat as everyone on deck turned around to see what was happening.

(Y/N)'s hands scrunched up the material of Shank's white shirt in fear seeing her brother, who was at the front of the ship holding up a knife in the air with his hand, and it caused a distressed noise to leave her lips.

"You're scaring your sister Luffy, put it down." Shanks demanded just catching a glimpse of what he was doing, as he had a hand behind the girls head to reassure her, "Before you hurt yourself."

"I'm not afraid of getting hurt. And I'll prove it to you!" Luffy yelled determined before taking the knife to slice right under his eye, making (Y/N) cry out and everyone else to gasp.

......

"I don't get it. Why would anyone want to be a pirate?" Koby still questioned in confusion at the siblings, leaning his chin in his palm against the wood crates beside him.

(Y/N) paused mid bite of the apple she was sharing with her brother, chuckling sweetly as she wiped the back of her mouth, hearing a familiar bracelet ding on her wrist, "'Cause it's the best thing there is. You have the wind in your back, the salty sea air, your loyal crew by your side. You never know what's on the horizon." She explained sighing contently, "It's honestly all about being free, and the people who you get to meet."

"Nothing's free about Alvida's crew." Koby stated still not believing these siblings were really pirates they say they were, and cringes remerging the things he's had to do, "She tells me when to ea, when to sleep. I even have to paint her toenails."

"So why don't you just leave?" Luffy suggested in a cheery way, cheeks stuffed with some bread he found in one of the barrels surprisingly, as it caused his sister to give him a incredulously stare.

"No one leaves Alvida! She'll never let me go." Koby retorted quickly with a head shake, and frowned to himself sadly.

(Y/N)'s lips formed into a straight line hearing his answer to her brother, pulling her straw hat back over her head to hide her glazed over eyes, and mumbled loud enough for them to hear, "You really should never let anyone tell you what you can't do." She motioned between herself and a eating Luffy beside her, "If we did that, we never would've left our village to go find the One Piece."

A look of realisation crossed over Koby's face as his eyes under his glasses go wide, and stands up from his spot to stand in front of some ropes, "Gold Roger's treasure? That's impossible. Every pirate in the world is after that, and the Nine-Tail devil fruit."

"Why shouldn't we be the one's to find it?" Luffy asked in a defensive tone, swallowing the rest of his foot as he wrapped his arm around his sisters forearm, "As soon as we're out of here, we head to the Grand Line."

Koby moved away from behind the ropes to actually stan in front of them now, voice dropping into a serious quieter one, "Pirate graveyard. There are a-hundred-foot waves and sea beasts that'll crush your bones." He tells them in hopes to scare, but their grins said otherwise to him, "Once you enter the Grand Line, you never return."

"It sounds kind of fun." Luffy comments in a childlike way with a giggle, sharing a smile with his sister who chuckled in agreement. A growling noise was soon heard afterwards making the duo pause, and he gasped happily hearing it, "Is... is that one of the sea beasts?"

"It's just Alvida snoring." Koby corrected him which caused Luffy's face to drop into a upset pout, and (Y/N) to stifle another laugh at his reaction, "If you two want to get out of here, it's not or never."
