Vance went back home with Sarah after they found Bingo. She'd been clingy ever since Grab N Go, but Vance chose not to question it. He did start to question how her parents would act if they walked in and saw how she'd been laying on his shoulder with his arm around her, Bingo on the other end of the couch. "When are your parents suppose to be home?"

"Not for a while." she said in return. "My Moms staying with her sister for the night and my Dad will be at the station late with Griffins Mom."

Vance inhaled, leaning his head back on the couch and holding Sarah more. He wasn't entirely sure when he became okay with the affection she liked, but he was glad he did. "You're really gonna tutor the whole baseball team?"

"There's not that many of them. I've met a few, they really are nice." Sarah admitted. "If they weren't, i'd just leave."

Vance laughed, Sarah heard the vibration. "As long as you don't take their shit if they're mean to you."

"I thought you were coming with me?" she hummed.

"Nah, that was just to scare your friend to tell his friends." Vance cracked a smile. "Think it worked? Didn't seem like it worked."

"I don't think Bruce knows when people are making threats." Sarah had to laugh slightly. "Robin on the other hand..."

"Jesus christ, i'm not use to people arguing with me." Vance admitted honestly. "He didn't back down."

"He's a good kid. He kicks Finneys bullies asses." Sarah was clearly very thankful for Robin, Vance could sense that. "You guys would probably be friends if you agreed on something."

Vance gave a snort. "Keep telling yourself that. Don't think he approves much."

"Gwen does." Sarah laughed as she sat up. "She's, like, you're biggest fan. You should hear how star struck she sounds when talking about that fight at that baseball game last year."

"Where you there?" Vance frowned his eyebrows, only remembering going to one baseball game.

"No, Gwen just told me all about it." Sarah cracked a grin. "She's still so mad at me."

"I think she'll come around." Vance saw how much Gwen cared for Sarah when she couldn't tell her about the bike. Vance still had no clue how Gwen knew it was there, but he wasn't about to ask and get himself in trouble with Sarah in the long run. "What's this about marrying Finney, though?"

"I didn't know about a marriage until today." Sarah laughed as she shook her head. Vance leaned his head back on the couch again. "I didn't know people thought we were dating either."

"Psh, I don't know where that came from." Vance scoffed. "You are not my type, Sheeps."

Sarah's jaw fell. "Rude. You don't have a type."

"Yes I do." he argued.

"Oh yeah? What is it?" she crossed her arms.

"Not you." he said in return. "Maybe if you weren't so annoying I could."

"I see." Sarah nodded. "You think i'm cute enough, just not quiet enough."

"When did I say you were cute?" Vance laughed at her. "I never once said anything about you being cute."

"Do you deny it?" Sarah rose her eyebrows.

Vance rolled his eyes. "You're barley cute."

"Still cute." she cheered with a point of her finger. "See, I am your type."

"Still not my type." he argued with her.

"I think you're cute." Sarah nodded her head. "In a mean, angry dog type of way."

"You're only cute in an annoying ass, fly that won't leave you alone type of way." Vance shook his head. "That makes more sense then just calling you cute."

Sarah cracked a grin. "Still cute."

Vance rolled his eyes. "I'll figure out who started those rumors tomorrow and make sure no one else runs their mouth."

Sarah nodded as she leaned against her knees. "Have you ever had a girlfriend before?"

"No." he gave her a weird look. "Have you?"

"Have I ever had a girlfriend?" Sarah gave a questionable eyebrow raise.

"Have you ever had a boyfriend?" he corrected her with an eye roll. "Nope, don't answer that. I know you haven't."

"Untrue." Sarah pointed out as Vance gave her a look of disbelief. "Okay, true."

"Have to be friends with people to date em." Vance shrugged his shoulders. "Non of my friends seem like my type."

"The two boys that just stand around you at Grab N Go?" she asked as he hummed. "Yeah, I can believe they aren't your type. They're like statues."

"That Bruce guy is the type of guy I can picture you with." Vance nodded as he looked at Sarah. "Good family, real happy about nothing, supportive, comforted you easily. He's like you, Sheeps."

"What if I don't want someone who's like me though?" she shrugged her shoulders.

"It's better that way." Vance told her from experience with his partners. "Trust me."

Sarah bite the inside of her mouth. "Does it bother you badly?"

"Does what bother me badly?" Vance rose his eyebrows back at her.

"The dating rumors." Sarah almost whispered it like it had been a secret no one was suppose to talk about. "Would it be so bad to date me?"

Joking aside, Vance saw she was genuinely curious if she'd been the type of girl people would date. He didn't think she was, not for people around here anyways. He saw the couples at school or wherever he went, they liked the girls that seemed to want to rely on them, that didn't have strong and harsh opinions on something. Sarah did, he knew that most guys wouldn't like that she spoke over them. He did. "I think you'd be a great person for someone to date. Just not me."

"How come?" she pushed him to say more. "And don't say it's because i'm annoying because if you really thought that, you wouldn't have spent all of today with me."

He huffed in annoyance that she'd been making him do this. "Because we're completely different people, Sarah."

"So because we're different means you wouldn't date me?" Sarah rose her eyebrows. "Lame."

"It's not lame, it's just the truth. For starters, your parents don't even approve of us being friends. That says a lot." Vance sat up completely to list on. "You're literally my tutor, saying a lot too. Everything you like, I think is stupid. There is nothing going for us, Sarah. Some people just aren't suppose to end up together. We're those types of people."

"I don't think so." she said immediately, without even thinking about it.

"Yes, we are." he argued

"I don't think we are." she said it again immediately, and with nothing but calmness. "I think if we were together that we'd be able to tolerate that we don't have anything in common. I think i'd learn to understand your pin-ball hobby and why you react so harsh when someone bothers you. I think you'd comfort and appreciate me because you already have. So, you're wrong."

For the first time, Vance didn't have anything to argue about. Sarah shrugged. "I don't think we're the type of people you think we are."
