𝐃𝐎𝐋𝐎𝐑 🌑🐺

KAILANI PARKER RECEIVED THE SHORT END OF THE STICK, OR, HOWEVER THE PHRASE GOES. On a rainy night in January, both of her parents had lost their lives in a traffic collision. The driver of the opposing vehicle was drunk, and because of the poor decision he had made, the Parker family had lost 2 of its members, ruining 2 of their children's lives.
Now, technically orphans since that fateful night, the Parker children felt the intense amount of pressure and heavy weight on their shoulder to carry on the Parker name without tarnishing it. Kayden, the eldest child and only son, had thrown himself into his work; being one of Sheriff Stilinski's Deputy's had its perks, meaning he always had something to do in order to keep his mind off grieving. He was a workaholic, and because of that, he became the shell of a man Kailani Parker used to know and love, a man she used to be able to call her brother, her protector.
Kailani has to spend most of her nights scooping her brother off of their living room floor and into his bed, most night Kayden being so exhausted he never made it more than 2 inches into their home before he crashed, shoes on and all. Once he was in bed, she would take a deep breath, and inevitably wait for the cycle to repeat.
Whenever she wasn't taking care of a grown man, Kailani could either be found crying herself to sleep, or hoping? Praying? No, begging for something bad to happen to her in order for her to be reunited with her parents again. As much as she'd miss her living family members, like her brother or her cousins, she needed her parents.
Experiencing and dealing with all of these heavy thoughts and emotions was a lot. Sometimes, when she felt herself really close to making the biggest mistake of her life she knew she'd regret, Kailani would run to the only boy who had caught her eye and held her attention. Isaac Lahey. Isaac had his own family issues as well, he was emotionally and physically abused by his father ever since the death of his mother and brother. She was unaware of this, Isaac was good at putting his pain on hold, none of what he was feeling mattered. He was always there for her, no matter what she needed.
Kailani went for a run one night, as she had often found herself doing since the passing of her parents. She zones out, just letting her body take her wherever it feels safe. She falls into a hole, running into that same boy who was always there for her no matter what. She had been avoiding him since her parents died, she refused to let herself love him.
She couldn't fathom the idea of feeling such a series emotion after losing her parents not that long ago. She felt selfish.
That night, she also runs into Derek Hale. He offers them a way out, and he didn't just mean when it came to the hole. He offered them an opportunity to stop feeling the immense pain they each did every single time they woke up, he offered them the chance to only be focused on what they felt for each other.
A way to stop feeling terrible everyday? Why shouldn't Kailani take the deal?
Maybe because it's like making a deal with the devil. Kailani doesn't know what to do, it all sounds good on paper, but she couldn't shake the feeling that Derek Hale couldn't be trusted.
A werewolf lover, a werewolf best friend, and unknown secrets in addition to unsolved mysteries in Kailani's life. She's learning things about her family, things no one had told her before, she wasn't ready then.
She is now.
She doesn't have much time, she must be quick to learn that not everything's as it seems, and that she can't be on all the sides of the same war...
