CHAPTER 99-PARTIAL AMNESIA

Naina woke up with a sharp pain in her head.She tried to sit properly, Sameer quickly got up from the chair and helped her to sit straight.Though,being injured himself he was more concerned for her .He cursed himself for agreeing to her requests of travelling in such state,he blamed himself for everything. Shehzaam and Zoya did try to calm him down but he was worried for Naina.As soon as she opened her eyes he rushed towards her.Naina looked at him in confusion.Before she could speak anything the doctor checked her and advised her to take rest.Naina bobbed her head a bit and stared at Sameer,realising that he was holding her hand,she jerked it off.

"Naina?" Sameer called her confused by her behaviour.He looked at her worriedly who was shifting behind seeing him.He placed his palm on her face gently making her stiffen at her position.

"A..aap kon ho?You can't touch me in this way." Naina said taking off his hand from her face while he looked her in shock.

"Naina aise kyu bol rahi ho tum?Ma..mai Sameer,tumhara Sameer.." He tried to make her understand.His heart ached seeing her speak such words.Why was she behaving as if she does not know him?

"Mai koi Sameer ko nahi janti, chachaji chachiji kaha hai?Pr..preeti?" She asks shivering looking at the unknown faces around her.

"Naina listen mazak mat karo.Tumhe pata hai na muje aise mazak nahi pasand fir kyu kar rahi ho aisa?Mai Sameer hu,tumhara pati.." Sameer said looking at her trying to control his emotions.

"Ma..mai nahi janti aapko." Naina mumbled again making him lose his control.He held her by her shoulders looking at her intensely as tears flowed from his eyes.

"Naina mai Sameer hu,tum muje kaise bhul sakti ho Jaan?I am your Sameer, dammit!How can you not recall me.You are pretending right?" Sameer asked her angrily, Naina trembled due to his loud voice and started crying as his grip on her was too tight.

"Sameer kya kar raha hai tu!" Shehzam said as he pulled  Sameer while Sameer kept staring at Naina through his teary eyes.

"Bhaijaan aap apne aap ko sambhaliye." Zoya said to Sameer while she held Naina's hand gently.

"Naina aap sachi hum sab ko nahi janti? Sameer bhai ko bhi nahi?"Zoya asked her to which Naina nodded her head in way of no still sobbing.Zoya mumbled sweet things to her so that she does not gets scared.

"Sameer please sambhal apne aap ko.She does not remember anything at this moment,please don't force her.Sab teek hojayega bhai."Shezaam sais to Sameer which was just audible to him.Sameer palmed his face as years rolled down his cheeks.He glanced at Naina who was talking to Zoya hesitantly and walked out of the ward while Shehzaam followed him,not wanting to leave them alone in such crucial situation.

Zoya helped Naina to change into some simple clothes while Naina whinced in pain as she had a cramping pain in her abdomen. Sameer rushed towards her but seeing him Naina gulped in fear.Sameer kept staring at her with tears in his eyes,he woud have rather chose to kill himself then feeling so helpless.She behaved as if he was a stranger and feared seeing him.He wanted to cry his heart out,hug her tight but he couldn't.

"Bhai."Zoya called him as she noticed him stare Naina due to which she was trembling like a dry leaf. "Huh?" Sameer uttered.

"Bhai mai khana banakar bhejti hu,aap Naina ka khyaal rakhna aur Naina kuch bhi baat ho toh muje bula dena ya Sameer bhai ko bata dena voh tumhari madat karenge."Zoya said softly at which she nodded her head a bit and laid on the bed not able to bear the pain.

"Sameer ek baat puchu?"Shehzaam asked him like a whisper.Sameer gestured him to ask.

"Apka bacha?"He asked him,Sameer stared at him and diverted his gaze as a lone tear slipped from his eyes.

Shehzaam held his shoulder feeling bad for him and Naina.As soon as Zoya and Shehzaam left,Sameer walked towards Naina and sat down on the floor next to her.She was asleep due to medicines effect.Tears rolled down his cheeks,never did he even dreamt that he would lose two important people of his life.He touched her face, gently rubbed the dry tear marks.She was in pain,but unaware of what had happened in reality.She thought this pain was due to some accident but the reality was heartwrenching and he didn't had guts to say her the truth.On top of everything he lost her too,due to injuring her head she had lost a part of her memory.Even when the doctor informed that she was suffering from partial amnesia he still had a hope that she would not forget him,their love but everything shattered when she refused to recognise him.He wiped his tears and leaned towards her pecking her forehead slightly.He hadn't realised that it had been half an hour he was just staring her.

"Even if you don't remember me,I will still love you.Mera pyaar sacha tha aur humesha rahega."He mumbled and walked towards the door as somebody had knocked.Shehzaam smiled and handed him plates of food.Sameer mouthed a thank-you as he took it from his hand.

"Tu teek hai na Sameer?"Shehzaam asked in genuine concern.He was like an elder brother for Sameer,in these six months their bond had become strong.Sameer simply nodded his head in way of yes.

"Sambhal apne aap ko,you have to stay strong for her."Shehzaam spoke as he patted his shoulder a bit and then left.

"Nainu."Sameer called her as he touched her cheeks gently.She mumbled something inaudibly making him smile.She was the cutest person he had ever met.He called her name again,making her open her eyes lazily.Her mind swayed between the reality and dreams but then shrieked in horror sensing an 'unknown man' so close to her.She quickly got up,while her stomach ached due to the sudden movement.

"Naina."Sameer mumbled being worried and was about to help her sitting straight when she stopped.

"Please dur rahiye mujse.Mai apko nahi janti,aap mujse dur rahiye.Don't touch me,please.Muje chachaji-chachiji ke paas jana hai.Don't touch me please." She mumbled as she cried.Her hands subconsciously held her head unable to bear the pain.

"Jaa-Naina please don't cry.I won't touch you,I promise.Tum please mat ro."Sameer spoke helplessly.

"Chachiji? Preeti kaha hai? Are they angry by what I did? Muje milna hai unse,muje unke paas jana hai.I don't want to stay here."Naina spoke in between hiccups.

"I will take you there Naina lekin abhi nahi beca-because tumhari halat kharab hai na.Please don't cry.Pehle kuch kha lo and then you also have to take medicines." Sameer spoke trying calm her down.

"Muje nahi khana hai kuch bhi! Nahi rehna hai muje yaha! I don't know who are you,how can I stay with you then? Hav-Have you kidnapped me? Or have you been instructed by Ayaansh to do so?Muje nahi rehna yaha."Naina stammered as she clutched the bedsheet in her fist trembling in fear.

"Just shut up! I am your husband,why would I kidnap you Naina? Tumhe yaad nahi hai kya mai kon hu?Tum muje kaise bhul sakti ho Naina.Tum mazak kar rahi ho na?Mu-Muje pata hai you can never forget me,our love.T-Tumne promise ki thi na ki tum muje chodkar nahi jaogi then why are you behaving like this?Chup kyu ho kuch bolo Jaan.I can bear anything but I can't bear losing you."Sameer spoke as he cried his heart out unable to bear all the happenings.Naina stared at him with a blank expression put on.

"Mujse koi galti hui hai kya Jaan? Tumhe jo saza deni hogi mai seh lunga but please mujse aise behave mat karo ki tum nahi janti muje.Mai nahi reh paunga tumhare bina Naina."He said as he moved his hand to hold her face with his palms but seeing her stiffen at her position, shivering seeing him in such vulnerable state.He mumbled curses and got up palming his face to calm himself.He mumbled a sorry and wiped his tears carelessly.He handed a plate of food to Naina and walked out of the room.
He felt like drowning in air.There was so much heaviness in it,suffocating him.Feeling left to bear so much of pain,he felt to give up his life than bearing so much all alone.
