"HOW THE FUCK DID YOU FORGET TO BLOCK LUCA ON YOUR SPAM?" alessia came bursting through the door of adena's hotel room. "i haven't posted on there in so long, i just forgot he was still on there to be honest." the greek girl reasoned.

luca galanis was the name of adena's ex boyfriend. he was a grade-a asshole and gaslighter, but the whole internet loved him because he was a good looking man. his looks had been what had drawn adena in, and about three months of talking later, they became official. the internet's nepo baby it-couple!

until they weren't. about six months into being official, luca had asked her to grab his phone for him, when she did, she saw the notifications of several girls texting him. which she wouldn't even have cared about if the text weren't describing — in detail —, what they wanted him to do to them next.

adena had confronted him the second she had read the texts, furious. on top of everything, he had tried to fault her for it, saying that she didn't satisfy him enough. luckily, adena had a sense of self respect and broke up with him the moment those words left his mouth.

that had been nine months ago now, and she had mostly moved on. sure, it still sucked, what he had put her through, but she didn't care for him or his opinions anymore.

their fans had been shocked at the breakup, but the two of them put out a statement saying it was mutual, and they both wanted what was best for each other. in truth, all adena wanted to do was run him over in her porsche.

god, she fucking hated him. but if anyone hated him more, it was alessia. the italian girl had literally flown at him when they saw him, two months after the break up, in a club, with a girl under each arm. alessia had punched him in the jaw, shouting curses in her mother language, to the point adena and ares had to literally drag her away before it got worse.

now, nine months after the break up, they sat in adena's hotel room in italy. and she had a date the next day. "oh my god. what do i wear to my date with franco?!" she suddenly stressed, making alessia snort loudly.

"girl you brought two suitcases. we're here for five damn days." the italian dead panned, making adena shrug, "i don't even know where we're going, though." "then text him about it!"

"god he wants you so bad." alessia stated, making adena giggle in glee. after the obnoxious sound that left her mouth, she stilled. "this is so cringe."

"nooo, i think it's sweet! finally someone who treats you like you deserve." the italian smiled at her bestfriend, and pulled her into a hug, "if anyone deserves treatment like this, it's you dee."

those words brought tears to adena's eyes, but she wouldn't dare let them fall. she had cried enough about luca galanis. plus, he couldn't even really do anything, as helios had made it quite clear to luca's father that he did not want to hear from that boy again. luca's father had no choice but to listen, as helios was actually his boss.

"i love you sia." adena muttered before detaching from her friend, "i love you more dee."

an hour later, helios and calliope had dragged the two girls, plus the macris family to a nearby mcdonald's. yes, a mcdonald's. just because they were rich doesn't mean they can't enjoy a mcflurry oreo.

adena sipped her sprite as she scrolled on her phone, not really paying attention to what her mother was saying. she suddenly felt a sharp elbow jab to her ribs, and turned to look at the culprit, alessia. the italian just ignored her stare and nodded at her mother.

"deedee, you have a date tomorrow night, right?" calliope asked, a slight smile on her face. "yeah, he'll come pick me up at eight, when he's done at the track, why?" adena replied to her mom, who just grinned even more. "no! nothing! i'm just happy you're trying again! with everything that happened with that galanis boy, i thought that maybe it would take you a while."

"it's been nine months since we broke up, mama." adena reminded, sipping her drink again. "i know! i know! i'm just really happy for you dee." calliope smiled, which made adena smile back, "thanks mumma."

"make sure to call me immediately adena." her fathers voice interrupted, making her gaze snap over to him instead, "yes papa, i already told you. i'll text you if i even feel remotely uncomfortable."

"or if he—"

"or if he tries something i'm not ready for! i know dad, i know."

"i just wanna look out for you, mou thygátër (my daughter)." helios sighed, adena stood up for her spot and sat down in the free chair next to her father, "i know, thank you, but i'll be okay. se agapó bampá (i love you, dad)."
