CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX:
SKYE REVA

IT WAS WEIRD TO GET used to. She had to take a minute and process this. Willow had sat on the couch that was placed inside her room for what felt like hours. Her brows were furrowed, lips pursed, her right hand playing with the now black gem that was placed around her neck. It was mindboggling to her. Since Willow had this curse placed upon her, the only thing she ever wanted was to be free, to be her own person. Now that she had that, now that she was actually free, she didn't know what to do with herself.

She didn't even know where to start or what to do first. Willow was overwhelmed by the thought of her dream actually come through. The alien would always be apart of her, she knew that. If it died, she died, vice versa. A part of Willow wished that she and the alien could get along, figure out a way to work something out, because if she was being honest, the alien had cool powers. She just wished that whenever the alien made an appearance it didn't murder everyone in its path.

She pursed her lips, looking up from her hands, glancing around her room for a moment in complete and utter boredom. For once in her life she wasn't worrying, she was relaxed and very very bored. She hummed to herself before huffing and pushing herself off of the couch. She looked around her room before walking out and down the hall. She took the time to actually admire the place―︎the place where she had spilled so much blood in the short amount of time that she'd been there. She pushed the thought away.

Willow continued through the halls, hands in her pockets as she watched the agents continue their jobs. She envied them almost. These people got to go out on missions, save lives, protect the human race as we knew it. For a moment, Willow wished that she was one of them. Her eyes pulled away from the agents towards a woman that was looking around seeming to be completely lost. Noticing that no one else was helping her, Willow decided to walk over to her. She was pretty, that was the first thing Willow noticed. She had medium length black hair, eyes a dark brown but it almost looked like she had purple in her eyes depending on the lighting.

Hesitantly, Willow spoke up to grab her attention. "Hello." The dark haired beauty turned her head towards Willow, a nervous smile pulling at her lips. Willow came to a stop a few feet in front of her, glancing around to see if any of the other Avengers were just happening to pass by, but to no luck. She turned back towards the woman, smiling kindly at her. "You look a little lost. I thought I'd come and make sure everything was alright."

The woman chuckled, looking down at the ground in embarrassment. "Yeah, I kind of am. I. . . well, Nick Fury actually roped me in, saying he knew what I was and what I could do. Said that the Avengers could use someone like me. And they offer protection which is a win win situation, you know. So, I get here, following his directions, and then he gives me nothing else after that. So, it is very safe to say that I am a little lost and very. . . very intimidated." Her eyes scanned the building before she looked back over at Willow.

"Yeah, Fury does that a lot." Willow nodded her head. "He basically said the same thing to me." She gave the unknown woman a sarcastic smile. "He knew my parents, they wanted him to protect me, blah blah blah. Took me a couple years to actually get over here, but I did it―︎although I didn't really want to." Willow then shrugged her shoulders. "But, hey, it grows on you." Willow held out her hand towards the woman. For the first time in a long time she was actually comfortable with introducing herself. "Willow Michaels."

The woman held out a tanned hand, smiling and nodding as she shook Willow's hand. "Skye Reva."

"Well, Skye Reva, it is very nice to meet you." Willow pulled her hand away before nodding her head for Skye to follow her. "Come on, I'll show you around. It's a big place and you can get lost very easily. Trust me, I know. I've gotten lost inside this building more times than I'd like to admit." Skye chuckled and Willow's smile brightened. Was she actually going to make a friend? The simple thought excited Willow. Suddenly she was really glad that Skye Reva had walked through the door without any prior knowledge of the place.

It felt like hours as Willow showed Skye every floor, explaining sections that were closed off to certain people and why they were closed off. She was also quick to explain how everything worked around here, what people did. Hell, if she saw someone that she actually knew and was comfortable talking to, Willow would take it upon herself to introduce Skye to them so that she could get to know a few more people. The entire time Willow kept a conversation with Skye and Skye happily spoke with her. It was an instant friendship that would become one of the closest Willow had had the chance to experience.

Once they made it back to where they started, Willow clapped her hands together and smiled. "Well, that was the tour of the Avengers facility. Feel free to ask any questions, do some exploring. Hopefully you like it here as much as I do."

"Thank you, Willow." Skye smiled. "My first day here and I've already met so many amazing people."

"Well, you're about to meet one more." Willow commented, watching as Natasha's red hair appeared, the woman making her way over to the two. As Natasha grew closer, Willow held out her hand for Natasha to grab hold of. "Skye, this is the Natasha Romanoff, aka my girlfriend."

"You're dating Natasha frickin' Romanoff?" Skye gasped, eyes wide. "You're life must be everything you wished."

Her mind travelled to the necklace containing her murderous dark side before she nodded her head, looking over at Natasha who was already looking at her. Natasha gently smiled towards her, nodding her head slightly. Willow's heart sped up before she looked back over to Skye and nodded her head. "It is. It's everything I could ever ask for."
