CHAPTER ONE:
HELP ME
SITTING IN A CELL WITH her legs crossed and placed under neat her, Willow stared blankly at the wall in front of her, her jaw clenched in anger. She couldn't believe that after all of these years, S.H.I.E.L.D. had finally found her, grabbing onto her and throwing her into a cell, knowing that she was a dangerous being. A dangerous human that was to curious for her own good, causing her to crawl into her parents work, and here she was.
She looked up when the door to her cell opened, her lips falling into a scowl as she glared daggers at the man before her. Nick Fury stood there, a file placed in his hands. He hummed to himself before closing the file and placing it on the floor, sliding it to Willow who narrowed her eyes at it before slowly looking up towards the man that had kept her here for days. They weren't mistreating her, they were feeding her, allowing her to bathe, but they kept a close eye on her, knowing her every move before she even made it.
"You're a difficult person to track, Ms. Michaels." Fury commented.
"And you're just difficult." Willow hissed.
"I see you have no intention speaking to me." Fury noted, nodding his head towards the file. "That file has everything we know about you, and if you will notice, it's a very small file. You're very secretive."
"Yes. People who have a demon attached to them usually try to stay that way." Willow sarcastically smiled, though she knew it was usually the exact opposite. Willow narrowed her eyes at the man. "What do you want from me, Nick?"
"I want to help you."
Willow laughed. "Nick Fury? Wanting to help someone other than himself? Who are you and what have you done with the real Nick Fury?"
"If you think I enjoying keeping you locked in this cell, you're absolutely wrong." Fury narrowed his eyes at the woman. "When you mother wanted to me to keep an eye on you all those years ago before she had died, I wasn't really sure why. Hell, to be honest, I still don't know why. What I do know is that you're a woman with something very dark attached to you, and if you would let us, we would like to help you find out what that thing is."
"It's an alien something. I know that much." Willow muttered under her breath, but Fury clearly heard her.
"The offer stands." Fury told her before simply leaving the woman alone.
Willow sat there for a few moments, the silence swallowing the room whole once again. Her eyes narrowed dangerously at the file that lay at her side. A deep frown found its way onto the brunette's lips before she reluctantly reached out and grasped the file in her hands. She stared at the blank manila folder, her name placed on the white tab of it it neatly printed letters. Her hands seemed to start shaking, causing her jaw to clench before a breath fell from her lips and she quickly opened the file.
Willow swallowed thickly when she saw the two pictures, one of her now, and one of her when she was much younger. Maybe around six years old. A sad smile fell on her lips as she plucked the photo from the file, placing it between her fingers before deciding to tuck it in her pocket. She tucked her dark hair behind her ears as she started to read through her file, surprised that Fury had been telling the truth. They really didn't have a whole lot of information on her.
Willow flipped the page, and her breath seemed to hitch her throat when she saw the picture of her parents laying their in the file. That night filled her eyes, remembering how brutally her parents had been killed, even if she wasn't in control of what it was that she was doing, Willow would forever blame herself for the death of her parents. The parents that did nothing but care about her, and in response she killed them.
That darkness that was attached to her body was smiling mischievously as she read the words scribbled inside the file. Of how it had taken a moment for the cops to recognize her parents because of all of the blood that covered them and the lack of skin that was on their body. A tear dripped down her cheek as she carefully grabbed onto the two photos, her heart shattering in her chest.
"I'm sorry, momma." Willow whispered. "I'm sorry daddy. I didn't mean it." She kissed the photos before tucking them in her pocket as well, before closing the file and placing it back down on the floor. So many thoughts were running through her mind, her hands being placed on her temple as a sigh fell from her lips. Silent tears rolled down her cheeks, her head starting to pound as she could feel that darkness try to take over her again. She shook her head in denial, she wouldn't let it happen. She would allow herself to be controlled by this thing.
"I know you can hear me." Willow croaked, standing up as she met eyes with the security camera that was not so secretly hidden. She clenched her jaw and then unclenched it before swallowing thickly. "Help me. Please. I need your help. I can't do this again, not after what happened last time."
That's when the door swung open, Fury already standing the expectantly. "I thought you'd never asked."
