(A/N: I know for people who haven't watched the show or just people who actually read this book are prob confused. I know I am skipping episodes, but that is because these last few episodes have been about the Governor and Woodbury. Or certain scenes I can't see Ara in. Also considering the whole ordeal with last chapter. Mind you Carol and Ara were presumed to be dead and they also stayed up in that room locked up for like two days in fear the walkers that had been scattered all over the prison would come back. Also, I know that Carol was found at the end of the last episode but she was only their for like two seconds so I'm just hopping over to episode seven. Anyway, enjoy.
THERE had been walkers blocking us from getting into the cell block. It was a big mess. We slashed, stabbed, and sliced off the head of multiple walkers. I had a few of my daggers and threw them at walkers from a farther distance. We were tired, drained, exhausted, and upset with what happened with T.
We protected each other though, as best as we could, but Carol and I got separated. I had no idea if she had been ok, alive, bit, or even if she found help and got in contact with the others. I was scared to go back out there after I had found refuge in a room on the lower level.
I couldn't sleep. T-Dogs death kept playing over and over in my head. I couldn't get his blood curdling scream out of my brain. It was just playing in a consistent loop. I hadn't had a faint idea as to whether or not how long I had been in here or if the group knew I was alive. I didn't even know if some members of the group were alive.
Then the door was yanked open and I tiredly aimed the sword at the door. I looked closer and saw that it was Daryl.
"D-D-did you find Carol?" I sputtered.
He cupped my face and looked me over. He moved my hair out of my face to get a better look. He looked like he wanted to cry in relief. Had they thought we were dead too?
"Yeah."
"That's good. I'm glad s-she's okay." I said tiredly as my eyes fluttered closed.
Daryl then lifted me up bridal style and carried me all the way to our cell block and laid me in a vacant bed.
He stood there for a second before heading toward the door.
"I couldn't save him." I whispered.
"He's saved me time and time again and I couldn't save him. You know, when the evacuations we're going on at the beginning of all this. T drove his van to every senior home he could. He even saved my brother and I. I broke my promise to him and now he's gone a-and I'm here." I confessed as I lied there while the tears were streaming down my face. I had figured my eyes were bloodshot then with exhaustion and from my crying.
Daryl turned around and squatted down by my bedside.
"Hey hey hey don't think like that. He saved you for a reason and he wouldn't want ya sittin' up in here and cryin'." He assured me as he wiped the tears that had fallen.
"Alright?" He whispered
"Alright." I answered whispering back.
After he had walked out, Rick had walked on over with everybody else behind him. Rick looked stunned to see me. I cracked a small yet tired smile at him and sighed.
"Thank god." He sighed as he hugged me.
"Hey ranger."
He then let go of me, then Hershel came up to me and hugged me.
"Papa Greene. I'm so glad your okay." I sighed into the hug.
"I'm glad you are too. We thought we lost you."
"Poor thing fought her way into some room after her and Carol got separated. I'm surprised she's able to stand." Daryl said.
As Hershel moved out of the way I saw the baby in Beth's arms. My niece or nephew.
I smiled down at the baby and gazed at it in admiration.
"Where's Lori?" I asked looking back at Rick.
He just looked down somberly and didn't answer me.
I gasped as tears started to form and I shook my head.
"Rick I'm so sorry." I whispered as I knelt my head against his before hugging him tightly.
I then looked over at Carl who had been looking down not saying a word. I knelt in front of him as I cupped his face. His blue eyes just looked back at me vulnerably. I wiped his tears away and kissed him on the forehead. I stood back up to look at the baby in Beth's arms. She was a girl. A beautiful one. She had the most beautiful blue eyes. She looked a lot like Carl already.
"Can I?" I asked Rick and Carl. They nodded and I carefully picked her up. I made sure to support her head. I looked her over from her chubby cheeks to her tiny hands and feet. I touched her hand with my index finger and she latched on to it. If I could do one thing right by Lori, it was to protect her daughter, my niece.

After that family fest, I was filled in on what was going on. Some woman showed up to the prison with baby formula. She said that my brother and Maggie had been taken to some town called Woodbury. We were all gathered around in a circle delegating on what we were going to do. Because I was going to get to Maggie and Glenn, even if I had to burn down that whole damn town just to get to them.
"How do you know we can trust her?" Oscar questioned referring to the lady Hershel was patching up.
"This is Maggie and Glenn. Why are we even debating?" Beth questioned.
"We ain't. I'll go after them." Daryl said.
"Well, this place sounds pretty secure. You can't go alone." Rick informed.
"He's not going alone." I stated.
"Ara, you are in no condi-." Rick started before I cut him off.
"This isn't about me. My brother and my sister are in there. If I have to, I will burn that place to the ground. I am going." I asserted not putting up with any debate.
"I'll go." Beth said
"Me too." Axel said.
The rest of us raised our eyebrows at him before we shrugged it off.
"I'm in." Oscar said.
We were getting a car ready and making sure we were equipped to go there. I already had my sword wrapped around my body like I always did. I've got my daggers and I've got a gun.
"I've got the flash bangs and I got the tear gas. You never know what you're gonna need." Daryl said he placed various items in the truck.
Carl then came over to help us load stuff into it.
"Hey, don't you worry about your old man. I'm gonna keep my eye on him." Daryl said reassuring Carl before patting him on the back as I put something else in the trunk.
They were bringing back extra things to put in the trunk. Rick handed me two bags as I passed them down to Oscar as he put them in the trunk. Hershel was coming down the steps using the crutches as Carol held the door open with the baby in her arms.
Rick led Carl over to the side to talk to him as we continued loading stuff up.
When we finished I walked up to Carol and patted her on the shoulder.
"Stay safe please. Both of you." I said softly referring to her and the baby as Daryl was walking down the steps and heading towards us.
"Stay safe." Daryl said.
"Copycat." I muttered under my breath.
"Nine lives, remember?" Carol joked.
"Ok cat lady." I smirked as Daryl and I walked over to the over to the car and got in.
We were gonna get our people back.

We had driven a good distance away from the prison before pulling off to the side of the road. We all got out of the car and grabbed what we really needed.
"They have patrols. We're better off on foot." The dark skinned woman with dreads told us.
"How far? Night's coming." Rick asked.
"A mile, maybe two." She responded before a walker was rasping behind us.
I walked over to it and pulled out my sword while everyone was preoccupied getting the stuff they needed out of the trunk. I sliced the walkers head off before walking back over to the group. I saw the woman eyeing me suspiciously but I hadn't paid her any mind. I noticed she had a sword of her own though.
We all then started to walking through the pathway in the woods as the woman lead us to wherever the town was.
Oscar was walking next to the woman. Daryl and Rick were behind them while I was behind Rick and Daryl.
"I know what you did for me, for my baby, while I was...working things out. Thank you." I heard Rick thank Daryl in gratitude.
"It's what we do." Daryl said shortly.
"Rick. Down." I heard Daryl whispered before we crouched down and Oscar and the woman followed shortly after.
A bunch of walkers were heading towards us.
"Get in formation. No gunfire." Rick ordered before raising his machete and bringing it down on a walkers head.
I threw a dagger at one that was coming at the Rick from another angle. Daryl used his crossbow, and Oscar used a hammer.
"There's too many of them." Daryl said.
"Well we're gonna have to take some to lead a path." I told him.
"This way." Rick then said as he lead us in another direction. We all hurriedly followed behind him.
"Through there. Come on." Rick told us as we saw a wooden barn and we ran towards it.
We opened the front door quickly.
"Get the door." Rick ordered as we all looked around the barn. The woman closed the door a little too hard, creating a loud noise.
"Keep it down. Keep it down." Rick shushed.
"The smell, it's loud." Daryl let out as he covered his noise.
I grimaced at the smell. It was revolting, and it had only gotten stronger and more potent as we walked further in the room to see if we saw any walkers.
"What the hell is that?" Oscar questioned referring to the dead animal on the floor.
"It's got to be a fox or what's left of one." Daryl answered as he shined the flashlight on it.
"I guess lassie went home." Daryl continued.
Then we all heard a pounding sound coming from the door. We all turned towards it to see a bunch of walkers hitting against it.
Rick all of a sudden whistled at us, attempting to get our attention. He had been shining his flashlight on a cover that laid on the floor. But something had been under it. As Rick was reaching his hand out to rip the covers off the floor and reveal whatever was underneath it, we had our weapons up just in case.
He ripped it off quickly and revealed under it was a man.
"Ah! Who the hell are you?" The strange man exclaimed raising a rifle at us. We all raised our weapons at the man.
"We don't mean any harm." Rick whispered holding up his hands.
"Get out of my house!" The man yelled.
"Okay, okay, okay. We will, but we can't right now." Rick whisper-shouted.
"Now!" The guy yelled again.
"Shut him up." The woman whispered harshly.
"Get out right now!" The guy yelled again.
"There are walkers outside." Rick whispered harshly to him.
"I'll call the cops!" The guy shouted at us.
"I am a cop. Now I need you to lower the gun. Don't do anything rash. Everything's fine. Let's just-let's just take this nice and slow, okay? Look at me. Hey, hey." Rick whispered attempting to deescalate the situation as he lowered his gun on the ground.
The guy then cocked the rifle and aimed it at Rick.
"Show me your badge." The guy said.
"All right. It's in my pocket. It's in my pocket. Now, I'm just gonna reach down nice and slow." Rick said calmly before he moved the barrel of the rifle away from his face as it shot a door behind us. Rick then grabbed the guy and put him in a chokehold.
"Let go! Let go of me! I'll kill you, you let go of me!" The guy exclaimed fighting against Rick's grip.
"Shut up! Shut up!" Rick yelled before the guy bit on his finger.
"Help me!" The guy yelled as he ran toward the door.
"Don't open that door!" Rick yelled.
"Hel-." The guy started to yell again before the woman stabbed him in the throat and yanking out her sword. The guys body dropped to the floor as the woman just glared turning back at Rick.
"Well that solved that problem." I muttered to myself.
The woman, Daryl, Rick, and I then walked toward the door to see the walkers breaking through the wood on the outside interior of the barn.
"Remember the Alamo?" Daryl questioned.
"Help me with the door." Rick ordered.
"You've gotta be kidding." Oscar said.
"He's dead. Check the back." Rick told Oscar.
Rick and Daryl then picked up the good guy as Oscar informed us that it was clear out the back.
"One, two, three." Rick chanted before I quickly opened the door as Daryl and Rick pushed the dead guy out the door. I quickly closed the door so we could all escape through the back.
By nightfall, we had made it to the town. The woman than guided us stealthily behind a car as we looked at the front gates of the town. We had to assess our threats first. I looked up to see that it was being guarded by two patrols. One had been moving a spotlight around, and the other had been pacing and keeping a look out.
We were just waiting. Waiting for the right time to strike and get Maggie and Glenn. And I meant what I said, I'll burn that town to the ground.
ANDDDD THATS ANOTHER CHAPTER!! Ara is back and she's about to kick some ass for the rest of this season. She's a badass with feelings as you can see. She's still sad about T-Dog's death and she just found out about Lori's, but she was gonna swallow that sadness and turn it into anger and determination like she always has. She's dead set on getting Glenn and Maggie and she will do whatever she has to to make sure that they get out of Woodbury alive.
I love you guys 3000. See ya next chapter.
