NO ONE P.O.V

On the brink of life and death, Jungkook thought he should at least fight back till his last breath so he hissed at the Tiger in front of him. The wild beast growled and attempted to jump on the boy to end his life but what happened next was beyond Jungkook's expectation.

BUKK!

Taehyung suddenly appears out of nowhere and gives the creature a flying kick on the face. Jungkook widen his eyes when he saw that as Taehyung stood in front of him and growl at the tiger. There is a slight hesitation in the tiger's eyes when it realizes that there are two of them now.

Hissing at them, the tiger retreats and went back into the forest. Taehyung let out a relieved sigh as he turn towards Jungkook "Did you just give the tiger a flying kick on the face?" Is the first thing that he asked causing Taehyung to glance at him in confusion.

"Seriously bro? I saved your life and was expecting a thank you at least." Taehyung says but another thunder growl soon after. Jungkook look up and saw that the rain won't stop any time soon "I'll thank you after we come out of this place alive." He says as he walks past Taehyung.

Taehyung smelled the blood and he knew that the other are still bleeding "Jungkook." He calls the male as he approaches him. Jungkook halts his step and turns to Taehyung who is staring at his arm. Taehyung suddenly tore his hanbok, surprising Jungkook with his sudden action.

Taehyung offers him the torn fabric "wrap your arm, we should at least stop the bleeding." Jungkook blink twice "Are you an idiot? I have my handkerchief, you shouldn't have torn your cloth like that." He says as he grabs the fabric and starts wrapping his wound.

Taehyung purses his lips and walks in front of Jungkook as he scrunches down. Jungkook raises his left eyebrow as he watches the older's action "What are you doing?" He asks as Taehyung glances at him over his shoulder "You're injured, let me piggy ride you back."

"Get up before I smack you."

Jungkook sassed as he walk past the older "It's my arm that is injured, not my legs. Now get your ass here before you fell off the cliff. I have no strength to drag you back to the camp." He adds as he left the older behind him.

Taehyung huffed in disbelief as he push his drenched hair to the back and stood up before running after Jungkook as he mumble "Where's my 'thank you'? This ungrateful brat." He mumbles as both of them walk back to the camp together with the rain.

Jungkook glanced at his bandaged arm as a sigh left his lips. When they reach back the camp, Taehyung had explained what happened and the chief warden told them to get immediate treatment while Taehyung return back to his dorm to get some rest.

Jungkook hasn't got the chance to thank the older properly. To be honest, he is grateful to the other for helping him. Who knows that even a Trueblood like him can be vulnerable at some point. Taehyung could just leave him to die.

Less competition for him.

Nonetheless, Jungkook still owes him a thank you at least. He glances out of the window and realizes that the rain already stopped. The moon is shining brightly indicating that it won't rain anymore and it had passed midnight.

Jungkook wondered if Taehyung had fallen asleep so he decide to check just in case. Knowing that the warden is still checking in the hallway, Jungkook decides to sneak out through the window and he succeeds.

Like a ninja, he run past those buildings without being noticed, the rain smell might be one of the reasons why the warden didn't catch him. He soon reached Taehyung's dorm, he peak through the window, trying to spot the older but to his surprise, taehyung wasn't in his bed.

Everyone is already sleeping so where did the older go? Frowning, Jungkook let out a disappointed sigh and turn around to leave but he halt his step when he suddenly saw a figure sitting under the tree and the end of the camp, near the forest.

Taehyung sat under the three as the night breeze hit his delicate skin. His gaze is fixed on the pendant in his hand as he caresses the gem silently. He let out a long sigh as he lifts his gaze up and stare at the full moon. "What's with the sigh?"

Taehyung snap his head towards the owner of the voice and saw Jungkook approaching him "Jungkook? Why aren't you asleep yet?" He asked as Jungkook shrugged and approach him "I should be asking the same thing." He says as he sat down beside the other.

"You need some rest you know?" Taehyung says "So do you." Jungkook replied making Taehyung huff once and look away from the younger, knowing that there's no use arguing. There is silence between when Jungkook suddenly breaks it "Thanks." Taehyung glanced at him.

"Thank you for saving me today."

Hearing that, Taehyung don't know how to react as a sad smile formed on his lips. He nods his head as he let out a breath "It's nothing... I'm just doing what I failed to do before." Jungkook turn towards Taehyung and frowned but he didn't say anything.

Taehyung stare at the pendant in his palm "Do you know why I saved you Jungkook?" Taehyung asked as Jungkook just stare at him, telling him to continue "Because I've failed to protect someone like you before..."

"My best friend"

His voice sounded shaky as he keep staring at the pendant "I have a best friend and we are very close. We do literally everything together and I care for him so much but I failed to protect him." Taehyung whisper the last 5 words as a memory flashed in his mind.

"Taehyung, stay here and don't come out no matter what okay? Take care of him Bogum-ah" His mother said to the 5 years old that are looking at her with teary eyes. Their pack was attacked by rogues and being the Luna, she have to get everyone into a safe place. Of course, she hides her son first.

Knowing that his son will be safe, she left to help the pack leaving Taehyung alone. The boy hides as he brings his knee to his chest, Bogum hugged Taehyung, trying to comfort his best friend although he himself is as scared as the other. They could hear the fight that had broken outside.

They waited for quite some time when everything went silently but Taehyung almost screamed when a rogue wolf suddenly barge into the room. Bogum manages to place his palm over his mouth, stopping his best friend from screaming. Both of them are hiding in the closet as the wolf sniff around.

It was Taehyung's room so his scent was everywhere. Both of them are tense and terrified, that they could feel their swear falling down from their forehead. Bogum covers his own mouth, trying to not breathe too loud with his other hand are still covering Taehyung's mouth.

The wolf sniffed around and Bogum knew that it was searching for Taehyung since the boy is the only heir to the pack. Luck wasn't on their side when the rogue come in their direction when Taehyung's scent get stronger, the rogue growled towards the closet indicating that it was aware of them being in there.

Taehyung shut his eyes close in fear but what happened next left him stunned. Bogum suddenly jumps out from the closet and attacks the wolf's face. The rogue was startled by the attack as it struggle to throw the boy away as the boy grab on it tightly. Taking the chance, Bogum attack the wolf's eyes and that is when the wolf becomes aggressive.

With one blow, Bogum was thrown away to the wall. The 5-year-old yelp as he fell to the ground with a loud thud. Taehyung who is watching was frozen. The boy was beyond scared that he can't move that he felt paralyzed. The rogue turns towards Bogum after recovering from the attack.

Its left eyes are bleeding as it growls at the small boy that he had thrown. Bogum gulps the lump in his throat as he glances at Taehyung who is still hiding in the closet. Knowing that he had managed to protect his best friend, he smiled and slowly flutter his eyes close, ready to face death.

The next moment, the rogue attacks the child mercilessly. Taehyung watched everything unfold in front of his eyes as a tear slid down his cheek. He was a coward, that he don't even there to scream when his best friend got torn apart in front of him.

"My father came and kill the rogue but Bogum was no more," Taehyung said as another tear left his eyes. Jungkook listens to his story silently. A dry chuckle left Taehyung's lips "I was a coward, weak and pathetic back then. So I train hard to become strong but at the end of the day, I still didn't protect Bogum that day."

"It frustrates me, I was so angry at myself that I start creating trouble and become wild. Bogum will be angry if he sees me like this." He mutters as he covers his eyes with his palm "I'm a mess." Taehyung whispered as a soft sob left his lips. Seeing the older cry, Jungkook brings up his palm as he hesitantly pats the other's back.

"Bogum... Will be so proud of you today."

He says at Taehyung making the other look at him with his teary eyes. Jungkook smiled at the older "You're brave, Taehyung. You saved me today despite knowing that you might die too. Bogum will be so proud of you" He says with an assuring smile as he pats Taehyung's back.

A smile formed on Taehyung's face as he tried to stop the tears that won't stop flowing out "You have a big heart, Jungkook. Just like him." He says in a low voice as Jungkook just chuckles "Everyone had their own stories you know? That's yours and maybe after today's incident, moon goddesses are telling you to move on because Bogum is in a happy place with her."

Jungkook says as he point towards the moon making Taehyung turn and look at it. The tears slowly stopped as Taehyung nodded in agreement "Yeah... Maybe, this is a closure for myself." He says as he took a deep breath and stare at the moon while Jungkook glances at Taehyung.

Maybe, he wasn't that bad at all...
