hello ~! please enjoy :) unedited
Morning came by quickly, so quick it seemed the sun rose as soon as you rested your eyes. The floor wasn't much comfort nor was the pillow you used which was your saddle. You awoke to the smell of burning meet and the crispy firewood. Wooyoung must've been cooking a rabbit he found. He was good at hunting and it was almost scary to you how accurate he was with a gun. But, you were also grateful for his scarily accurate shots as he always brought in something to eat, even if it were something small.
"Good morning, you look a mess," Yunho states, a smile on his face that grows wider when you roll your eyes at him, wanting to throw your saddle at his head. You push the thin sheet off your body and place your hands on the floor, pushing yourself up off the floor and brushing your pants off. You look to the side slightly and notice that San is no longer in his spot but instead his saddle was gone and the sheets he used were folded. The conversation you had was still burnt in the back of your mind, so many questions popping up that you couldn't even think of what to ask if he had walked through the cabin door. What did he mean when he said he watched her die?
You didn't want to think of the possibility that he had something to do with her unfortunate death, so you thought of other ridiculous ones.
A piece of meat is shoved in front of your face before your mind could continue to race. Yunho stands in front of you with a soft smile on his face, his own food held in his other hand. You pause for a second and consider if you're hungry or not before accepting his offer, giving him a smile of your own.
"Thanks," You take the food and tear off a small piece,"Did Wooyoung catch this?"
"No, actually, I did, why does he always get the credit?" Yunho sports a frown on his face but you know he takes no actual offense. You just shake your head and take a bite, sitting in silence with the tall male. You wish you could eat in peace but as you think, the door slams open and in comes San in all his glory. His hair is a mess on his head, dirt on his face and a frown curling on his lips. What the hell happened to him? You furrow your eyebrows and let your eyes linger on him for a few seconds but they quickly dart away when his glare is on you.
"The fuck happened to you?" Mingi questions from the corner of the cabin, his feet up against the wall as he leans in an old wooden chair, creaking every time he moves just an inch. You wonder the same, waiting for the male answer.
"Billie got spooked by god knows what and kicked me off," San answers in all seriousness but something comes over you and you can't stop the giggle that falls from your lips. You attempt to cover it up by looking away and putting your hand over your mouth but it was too late.
"That's fucking funny to you?" Yea, it is. He takes your silence as a yes and huffs childishly.
"Did she run off? We don't have time to find you another horse, Joong wants us to leave by noon," Yunho says, finishing up the last of his food and wiping his hands on his pants. Those words make you freeze, curiosity in your veins. Where were you all going? You've never been this far away from home, hopefully the next place you come across is more pleasant than the last town. The scar on your leg making sure you remember all too well.
You open your mouth and turn your head to Yunho to ask but as if he were a mind reader, he speaks,"Utopia isn't too far from here, a days ride at the every least." Utopia? What is that a lingo for something? It sounds like a pleasure house if anything.
"What is Utopia?" You ask Yunho, eyebrows furrowed.
"Our home."

It's been a couple hours that you've all been riding to Utopia, the heat of the sun beaming down on all of you making you want to just lay under the shade of the trees that you continue to pass. God, you wish it were winter already, you actually enjoy the cold weather. Sometimes if you were lucky when you were a little girl, snow would paint the ground and the trees. Your mother would sometimes accompany you when she was free, helping you make snowman. Your mother. Your heart aches at the thought of her and how she's doing, but you also think of what San told you. "She's not half the woman you think she is." What did he mean by that? Your mother was a good woman towards everyone in town. But then again your father was a good man to most and he was still a killer to them.
You assume your sour thoughts are noticeable as you hear your name being called next to you. You turn your head and to your surprise, you see it's Hongjoong. He's barely spoken a word to you since you all left your father's cabin. If anything, you thought he had a distaste for you. His hair is pulled back in a short ponytail, his hat on his head and hanging over his eyes but just enough to where he can still see ahead of him.
"What's on your mind?" His voice is quiet, barely above a whisper but you hear him perfectly. You wonder how he manages to do that, have such power and authority in his voice even in the slightest whisper.
"Just..." You contemplate if you should lie and say nothing but something tells you he's not fond of liars, so you answer,"My parents." Your reply doesn't seem to surprise him as he hums and nods his head.
"What about them?" He asks and you bite the inside of your cheek.
"San told me...my mother isn't the woman I think she is and it's eating at me." You wait for him to answer but he takes a few seconds as if thinking of what to say.
"She isn't. Though nowadays, who is?" That makes your frown deepen and you bite your lip to keep a smart reply at bay.
"What do you mean by that?" Your words come out impatient and Hongjoong notices, a condescending chuckle leaving past his lips, angering you. Is this a game to him?
"Wow she really told you nothing huh? Of course I'm not surprised you didn't even know about your father." The light breeze blows over you, a piece of your hair moving in your eyes but you don't care to move it, focusing on the male's next words. You don't even hear the other men chatter amongst themselves.
"Your mother knew of your father's whereabouts, she knew of his job and what he did to one of ours." His job? You thought your father was a ranger.
"What was his job?" You ask impatiently and the male once again laughs but this time you don't stop your anger,"Answer me!" Silence looms over you both and the rest of the group but you don't care, it's too far down the road now. Hongjoong's amusement drops and he clicks his tongue, pulling the reign on his horse back making her stop. You gulp and stop your horse too as does everyone else. The silence was so loud now.
"I don't appreciate your tone." Is all he says and for a moment you opt to drop the convo and move on but you're so close to answers that you don't.
"I don't appreciate you thinking this is a joke," You reply, clenching your jaw and you hear Yunho call out your name, warning you. You should've take the warning.
"You know what's a joke Y/n?." His voice is dripping in venom and it frightens you. "Allowing you to come with us instead of telling San to put a bullet in your head." You're sure you stopped breathing at this point. It's so silent that you can hear leaves fall to the ground. But he doesn't stop there.
"Allowing you to even be alive right now is a joke and mercy at that. Your father was a bounty hunter, Y/n. He killed one of ours and your mother knew of it, that's why we came." What? What did he mean?
"Joong, stop," Yunho blurts out in desperation but the older male doesn't, instead he continues to add fuel to the fire, slicing you.
"We came to kill your mother, Y/n. It was only fair." That answer made your blood run cold. "Though if anything, we should've killed you." He pulls his gun out in millisecond and your life flashed before your eyes.
