CHAPTER SIX ━━ banished

"Bring out the girl, Bellamy!" Murphy yelled from outside the tent. Inside the tent, audrey paced back and forth, head in her hands.

"Why Charlotte?" Bellamy turned to the younger girl, who looked petrified

"I was just trying to slay my demons, like you told me." Charlotte spoke with wide eyes, her voice squeaky as she looked up at the older man.

"He didn't mean literally slay your demons Charlotte. It's a metaphor." Audrey sighed as she crouched in front of the younger girl.

"She misunderstood me. Charlotte, that is not what I meant." Bellamy turned to the girl, who's eyes were on the stressed audrey.

"Bring the girl out now!" Murphy yelled once again, making audrey groan.

"Murphy, I swear to god if you don't shut up will string you up myself." Audrey frustratingly groaned as she kept her hands on charlottes arm.

"Please don't let them hurt me audrey." Charlotte pleaded as she stared at her, making the older girl sigh as she turned to Bellamy.

"If you guys have any bright ideas, speak up." All of them stayed silent, making Bellamy scoff. "Now you stay quiet."

"You're the one who kicked the bucket from under his feet, you sort this out!" Audrey pointed towards Bellamy as she stood up.

"Exactly! Those are your boys out there!" Finn agreed as he pointed to the outside of the tent.

"This is not my fault." Bellamy shook his head, making Audrey scoff as she ran a hand through her hair. "If she had listened to me, those idiots would still be building the wall." He pointed at Clarke.

"You kicked the fucking bucket from under his feet, If you'd have listened to me and didn't try and kill him, he wouldn't be out there demanding for Charlotte." Audrey corrected him as Murphy continued to shout.

"You want to build a society, princess? Let's build a society. Bring her out." Murphy yelled as Finn looked out of the tent.

"No! Please Audrey-Bellamy." The young girl looked at the two eldest with hope. Bellamy glanced at the stressed audrey for a moment before turning to Charlotte and holding her arms.

"Charlotte, hey, it's gonna be okay. Just stay with them." Bellamy turned to Clarke and finn before letting go of her and exiting the tent.

"For fucks sake." Audrey sighed as she followed him, lifting the tent up to see Bellamy and Murphy face to face.

"Dial it down and back off." Bellamy told him as Murphy inched closer to him.

Audrey watched silently as she stayed at the entrance of the tent. "Or what? What are you gonna do about it? Hang me?" Murphy asked sarcastically.

"I was just giving the people what they wanted." Bellamy tired to reason with furious Murphy, who scoffed at his words.

"Yeah. Yeah, that's a good idea. Why don't we do that right now? So, who here wants to see the real murder hung up? All in favour?" He asked as only a few lifted their hands. "I see. So, it's okay to string me up for nothing, but when this little bitch confesses, you all let her walk?"

"That little bitch is just a fucking child Murphy!" Audrey voiced as she stepped beside Bellamy. "What are you going to do to her? Kill her? You shouldn't of been strung up at all, but that was them who did that not Charlotte. Now let us figure out what happens next because I promise you, Murphy, she is not going to get off with a tap on the wrist." Audrey tried to calm him down as the boy turned to her, a look of betrayal on his face.

"Cowards! All of you are cowards!" Murphy stared to yell at the others, making Bellamy call out his name, walking towards him.

"Hey Murphy!" Bellamy barked. "Murphy! It's over." Bellamy said more calmly as Murphy nodded his head, moving back slightly.

Audrey watched with caution, knowing that Murphy wouldn't finish it at that. "Whatever you say, boss." Murphy threw his hands up slightly as Bellamy turned around, walking towards Audrey as he told her to go back into the tent.

She was about to turn around when she noticed Murphy move towards a pile of wood. "Bellamy!" Audrey called out but it was too late as Murphy smacked the wood against his head. "Son of a bitch!" She groaned loudly as she watched Octavia run towards him only to be stopped by jasper.

Audrey sighed as she crouched to the unconscious Bellamy side, checking if he had a pulse. She then looked up to see Murphy punch jasper. "Murphy!" She called out to him as he ran to the tent. "Bellamy wake up." She slapped his face as Murphy and his group ran into the forest.

Octavia dropped to Bellamys side also, trying to wake him up. "Oh, god. Is he going to be okay?" Octavia said, worried.

"He's just unconscious. Don't worry." Audrey tried to reassure the younger girl.

Audrey trekked through the woods, a torch in her hand. "Charlotte!" Bellamy yelled from beside her.

"You want Murphy to find out where we are?" Audrey hissed. The pair stopped as they heard movement to the right of them.

Audrey quickly realised it was Charlotte and signalled Bellamy to follow her. Bellamy was quick to grab Charlotte, making her jump, shaking in his grip.

"Shh. Shh." Bellamy told her as he covered her screams. She fell silent as she looked at the two with wide eyes.

"Charlotte!" They heard Murphy yell. "Don't worry. We won't hurt you."

So Bellamy grabbed the younger girls hand along with Audrey's. "Let me go!" Charlotte cried as she tried to get out of bellamys grip.

"I'm trying- hey! Hey. We're trying to help you." Bellamy told her as he didn't let go of her.

"I'm not your sister! Just stop helping me!" Charlotte tried to break her hand free.

"Kid, we're not gonna leave you. So stop screaming." Audrey breathed out as Charlotte looked at her sheepishly.

"I'm over here!" Charlotte yelled as she sneakily got out of Bellamy grasp, making Audrey curse as she quickly grabbed her.

"Are you trying to get us all killed?" Bellamy hissed as Audrey kept a firm, but gentle grip on her.

"Just, just go, okay? Okay lm the one they want." The younger girl told them.

"Okay, Charlotte, listen to me." Bellamy said gently. "I won't leave you-we won't leave you." Audrey nodded her head, agreeing.

"Please, Bellamy, Audrey." The girl pleaded. She tried to break out of Audrey's grip so Bellamy picked her up. "Murphy! I'm over here!"

Audrey groaned furiously as they continued to go in the different direction. They continued to run as they came across a cliff. "Dead end!" Audrey ran a hand through her hair.

"Damn it!" Bellamy cursed as he placed Charlotte down.

"Bellamy!" The three turned to see Murphy walk out of the woods. "You cannot fight all of us. Give her up."

"No chance in hell, Murphy." Audrey shook her head as she stood in-front of Charlotte.

"Maybe not, but I guarantee I'll take a few of you with me." Bellamy said as Audrey watched Murphy carefully.

"Bellamy, Audrey! Stop!" Clarke walked out of the trees, Finn behind her. "This has gone too far." Clarke turned to Murphy. "Just calm down. We'll talk about this."

Murphy didn't say anything as he grabbed Clarke, placing a knife to her throat. "I'm sick of listening to you talk."

"Let her go." Finn warned.

"Back off! I will slit her throat!" Murphy tilted his head as he looked at finn.

"No, please. Please Don't hurt her." Charlotte cried as she looked at Murphy.

"Don't hurt her?" Murphy repeated as Bellamy stepped forward slightly, his hand in front of both girls. "Okay, I'll make you a deal."

"She's a fucking child Murphy!" Audrey yelled at him. "She doesn't need to make a deal with you, just let Clarke go."

"Shut up, Audrey!" Murphy pointed at her. "You come with me right now, I will let her go." Murphy turned back to Charlotte.

"Don't do it, Charlotte." Clarke shook her head.

She went to step forward, making Audrey turn and hold onto her. "Audrey! Let me go! No, I have to!" She screamed.

"Murphy, this is not happening." Bellamy shook his head as Audrey tried to cam down the kid.

"I can't let any of you get hurt anymore." Charlotte shook her head as Audrey lowered her arms. "Not because of me. Not after what I did." Audrey frowned as the girl turned around, her heart sank as it was too late. The young girl jumped off the cliff, making Audrey scream her name.

She cursed as she hit the ground with her hand, staring down at the water. Audrey didn't realise there was a hand on her back until it left, making her turn to see Bellamy stand up. "Bellamy." Murphy breathed out. Bellamy ignored him as he tackled him to the ground.

Audrey quickly got up, turning to the scene. "Bellamy." Audrey quietly called out, watching as Bellamy delivered punch after punch. "Bellamy, stop! You'll kill him!" Audrey spoke louder ad Clarke begged him to stop.

Finn quickly grabbed Bellamy off of Murphy. "Get off me! He deserves to die!" Audrey stepped in front of him as he went to attack Murphy again.

"No! We don't decide who lives and dies!" Clarke spoke up. "Not down here." The blonde shook her head.

"So help me god, If you say the people have a right to decide," Bellamy breathed out heavily.

"No, that's not what she's saying okay, Bellamy. We have to be better than them." Audrey said as she referred to the ark.

"If we're gonna survive down here, we can't just live by whatever the hell we want. We need rules." Clarke continued as she agreed with Audrey.

"And who makes those rules, huh? You?" Bellamy pointed to the blonde.

"For now, we make the rules. Okay?" Clarke pointed to the three of them, making Audrey frown slightly that she was included.

"What, then? We just take him back and pretend like it never happened?" Bellamy asked as he pointed to Murphy, who was still on the floor.

"No!" Clarke shook her head as Audrey looked down at Murphy. "We banish him." Clarke said as Audrey looked at her with wide eyes.

Bellamy looked in between the two girls as he sighed, walking over to Murphy and grabbing him. "Get up." He said roughly as Murphy stood up, taking him towards the cliff.

"Bellamy! What the fuck are you doing!" Audrey hissed as she watched him dangle Murphy over ten cliff.

"If I ever catch you near camp, we'll be back here." Bellamy warned him. "Understand?" Murphy weakly nodded his head as Bellamy dropped him to the floor. "As for the four of you, you can come back and follow me, or go off with him to die. Your choice." He said to the other boys before walking off.

Audrey watched as everyone walked away, Finn looked up at her as she slowly nodded her head, telling him to go.

Audrey stared down at him with a deep sigh, pulling her knife out of her pocket and throwing it to the floor.

She then quickly left him, knowing if she stayed there any longer or she would of ended up staying with him.
