CHAPTER EIGHT ━━ search party

Audrey sat in her tent, carving a wooden stick with her knife. She couldn't sleep at all for some reason. So she just made weapons.

She jumped slightly as her tent was opened, making her pull her blanket up. "Jesus, blake. Ever heard of knocking!" Audrey glared at Bellamy as he walked in.

"Have you seen Octavia?" He asked her, making her frown.

"No, I haven't seen her since this morning." Audrey shook her head. "Why?"

"She's not here. I've looked everywhere for her." Bellamy said worriedly as she sat up slightly.

"Then we need to find her. Grab Finn, he's a good tracker." Audrey told him as he nodded. She grabbed her top, due to the fact she was in her sports bra. "You can go now." She turned to Bellamy as he nodded his head, clearing his throat.

Audrey held a torch in her hand as she walked through the woods. The only noise was their feet standing on leaves.

"Look! Over here!" Someone yelled as Bellamy ran towards him, making her follow.

"What is it?" Bellamy asked as they came out of the clearing.

"Right there. You see it? Is that Octavias?" The boy asked as he pointed his light towards the bushes.

Audrey narrowed her eyes, but she couldn't tell what it was. "Rope." Bellamy said as a kid passed him the rope.

"What are you doing?" Finn asked as he walked towards Bellamy.

"We need the rope to get back up." Bellamy said as he threw the rope down the small, grassy, hill. "Flashlight." Bellamy walked down as he walked towards the bush, picking up the item. "It's hers!" He yelled.

"I'm going all the way down." Bellamy called over to them as Audrey sighed, stepping over to the small hill.

"Bellamy, wait up." Audrey spoke down to him, carefully walking down the steep hill. Jasper followed her, the two holding onto the rope.

Audrey huffed as her shoes made contact with the floor, noticing Bellamy as he crouched down.

"What is it?" Audrey asked quietly as she crouched down beside him, looking at the blood on the rock. Jasper crouched down beside Audrey as Finn joined them.

"Someone else was here." Bellamy looked at the three as jaspers eyes widened, looking down at the tracks.

"The prints are deeper going that way." Finn pointed to the direction of the foot prints.

"He was carrying her." Bellamy realised.

"If they took her, she's alive." Jasper voiced as he looked over at Bellamy. "Like when they took me."

The small group continued to walk through the woods. Audrey noticed Bellamy stop, making her look up to see skeletons tied to trees. "Fucking hell." She muttered to herself.

"I don't speak grounder...but I'm pretty sure this means keep out." Finn breathed out as he looked at the skeletons.

"Let's get out of here. It's crazy." A kid said as audrey turned around.

"What, you're gonna let a few skeletons scare you?" Audrey cocked a brow at the people who were turning around.

"Go back if you want." Bellamy spoke as he continued to face forward. "My sister, my responsibility." He then walked forward, leaving the group behind.

Audrey sighed as she pulled out her knife, following the way Bellamy went. Jasper, Finn and two others followed them.

It was now morning and they still hadn't found Octavia. "I got nothing. We lost the trail." Finn sighed as he looked around.

"Keep looking." Bellamy told him as Finn spun around, his eyes on the floor.

"Wandering around aimlessly isn't the way to find your sister." Finn said to Bellamy. "We should backtrack.

"I'm not going back." Bellamy shook his head, standing in front of Finn.

"Yeah, there's no time to backtrack. Octavia been gone long enough." Audrey told Finn as he walked past the two boys. "We just need to keep looking."

"Hey, where's john?" A girl asked as Audrey turned around.

"I just saw him a second ago." Jasper breathed out heavily as they looked around.

"He couldn't of disappeared into thin air." Audrey frowned as she saw no sight of him.

"Spread out. He couldn't have gotten far." Bellamy told them as Audrey heard a thud behind her.

She jumped back as she looked down at John, his eyes wide as blood seeped through the cut on his neck.

"They use the trees." Finn looked up as Audrey did also.

"Keep your eyes pealed." Audrey told the others as she pulled out her gun. She had a couple rounds left, but she didn't know how many grounders were around.

"We shouldn't have crossed the boundary." A boy spoke up, fear evident in his eyes.

"Now can we go back?" The girl asked Bellamy.

"There, right there." Jasper whispered as he pointed to the figure in between the trees.

"Another one." The boy breathed in as the ground hers surrounded them.

"We should run." Finn looked over at Bellamy as Audrey pulled out her knife, her back against jaspers.

Bellamy nodded his head, a signal for the others to start running. Audrey held her weapons tightly as she ran in between the trees.

Audrey made sure to keep close to jasper, knowing he wasn't in good shape. "I can run much longer!" He yelled to the others as in front.

"I'm not stopping for him!" The boy said as Audrey scoffed, stopping beside jasper as she grabbed his arm, slinging it around her neck.

"I'm sick of running anyway." Bellamy said as he stopped in his tracks.

"Hey, what are you doing?" Finn stopped him as Audrey kept a tight grip on jasper.

"They know here she is!" Bellamy breathed out. "Do you still have your gun?" He turned to Audrey, who nodded her head.

"Diggs, where are you!" Roman shouted as she ran the other way.

"Will everyone stop running away!" Audrey groaned as she turned to the grounder that was running towards them. She quickly spun the knife in her hand as she quickly threw it towards the grounder, the knife landing in his head as he fell to the ground.

"Oh, god." Jasper muttered as the two started to run with the others.

The heard Roma scream as they ran in that direction. They stopped as they saw saw the dead diggs.

"They we're leading us here. It's the only direction we could run in." Jasper panted.

"Hey. Where'd they go?" Finn looked around, not seeing any of the grounders.

"After Roma." Bellamy realised as he ran the direction Roma went, making the rest follow.

They continued to carefully walk through the woods. Audrey was cautious as she looked around. "There she is. Roma." The girl whispered, making Audrey look up to see a figure behind the tree.

Bellamy and Finn walked towards her, noticing the spear sticking out of her. "They're playing with us." Finn breathed out heavily. "They can kill us whenever they want.

"Then they should get it over with!" Jasper yelled from beside audrey. "Come on!" He continued to yell as Finn grabbed him. "We know you're out there!"

"Calm down." Audrey grabbed jaspers arms as he continued to yell.

"They're coming!" The girl yelled as she looked at the figure running towards them.

Audrey held her gun in her hands, aiming it towards the grounders. But then a horn was set off, making the grounders run away. "They're leaving?" Finn frowned.

"The horn. What does it mean?" Jasper asked with wide eyes.

"Acid fog." Finn realised as he pulled something out of his bag.

"We have to run." The girl told them.

"There's no time." Finn shook his head.

They followed the alone grounder, realising they acid fog was fake. It was risky, but they needed to get Octavia back.

They followed him into a cave, quietly entering it as audrey aimed her gun. Bellamy was at the front ad he stooped. "Bellamy?" Audrey sighed as she heard Octavia voice.

"Octavia." Bellamy breathed out as he ran towards her, making audrey step forward ti see a grounder on the floor.

"Monroe, watch the entrance." Bellamy called to the girl. He set Octavia free as she hugged him. "It's okay. You're okay."

"Auds!" Octavia turned to Audrey as she walked towards her, throwing her hands around her. "How did you find me?"

"We followed him." Jasper pointed to the grounder on the floor as audrey hugged the younger girl back.

"We should go. Now. Before he wakes up." Octavia turned to Bellamy.

"He's not gonna wake up." Bellamy shook his head as audrey frowned.

"Bellamy, stop." Octavia grabbed his hand. "He didn't hurt me. Let's just go." She told Bellamy as he grabbed a wooden sword.

"They started this. Finn. Move." Bellamy said as Finn crouched beside the grounder.

"Foghorn." Finn spoke as he held a horn in his hands, making audrey crouch down and look at the horn.

Suddenly, the grounder jumped up, a knife in his hand. It was too late for anyone to realise what happened as he threw his arm around, making the knife cut into Audrey's arm as she quickly kicked his hand away.

He then stabbed Finn in the chest with the same knife. Audrey jumped up as she grabbed her gun, looking up with wide eyes as Bellamy and the grounder continued to fight.

So she took the opportunity to bash the handle against the grounders head with force. Making the grounder fall to the ground.

They all panted heavily as they stared down at the grounder. "We need to get Finn back, now. Clarke will know what to do." Audrey nodded her head as she walked over to Finn.

But Bellamy grabbed her non-wounded arm, making her frown. "You're injured." He pointed to the cut in her arm.

"It's a little cut, I'll live." She shrugged as she grabbed her arm back, helping Finn up.
