CENTURIES AGO...

"Son," Williams spoke clearly, his voice deep and commanding, like he was born to rule. "I trust you've found your wife?" Only then did he look up at his child from his papers.

Henry merely nodded as he stepped into the king's private office. His eyes were trained to hide his thoughts, but a sliver of somber escaped the barrier.

"Good," Williams mused quietly. "Good."

His son shut the door behind him and took a seat in front of his desk.

Arching an eyebrow, William inquired, "Did you need something, boy?" with a loving tone. His job as king was to be a cruel leader, but his son brought out the good in him.

"No . . . I just wanted to thank you," Henry responded. "For all that you've done for me."

Williams smiled and stood, embracing Henry in a hug. Taking his chance, Henry stuck his metal blade into the lower back of the king.

A loud gasp almost escaped the king's lips, but Henry clamped his mouth shut. When he stopped, he let go.

"W-why?" he croaked.

"Power," Henry whispered in his ear. The prince dropped him to the ground, leaving his body as he exited the office.
