Delaney sat at a table of a small outside cafe with Dean while Sam was on the pay phone a few feet away. She didn't even know pay phones were still a thing. Dean was sat next to her as he did some research on the laptop. He had seen an article about a college kid being murdered and it seemed to spark his interest for whatever reason.

Delaney noticed Sam walking by and offered his now basically cold coffee to him. "So, did you find out anything?"

Sam sighed and shoved his wallet into the inside pocket of his jacket. "No. I had them check the FBI's missing persons databank. No "John Does" fitting that description. I even ran his plates for traffic violations."

"I seriously think Dad doesn't want us to find him," Dean commented with a shake of his head.

Delaney huffed and leaned back in her chair. As much as Delaney wasn't sure how she felt about seeing her dad, she did want to make sure he was okay at least. They might not see eye to eye, but John was still her dad. She cared for him... at least a little bit.

"Check this out," Dean spoke up and turned the laptop to face both Delaney and Sam. "News item out of Plains Courier, Ankeny, Iowa. It's about one hundred miles from here."

Delaney leaned forward a bit to read from the article displayed on the screen. "Mutilated body was found near the victim's car parked on nine mile road."

"Keep reading," Dean urged as he took a sip from his coffee.

"Authorities are unable to provide a realistic description of the killer. The sole eyewitness, whose name has been withheld, is quoted as saying the attacker was invisible," Sam finished reading and raised an eyebrow at Dean.

"Could be something interesting," Dean suggested.

Sam fixed Dean with a look. "Yeah, and it could also be nothing. One witness who didn't see anything doesn't mean it's The Invisible Man."

"But what if it is?" Dean challenged. "Dad would go check it out."

And just like that, the three siblings were in the car and in Iowa. Dean pulled up in front of the fraternity that the boy was from. Delaney went to get out of the car, but Dean put a hand on her shoulder. "Dean, what?"

"You can't go in there," Dean stated.

"What? Why not?" Delaney asked, slightly annoyed that Dean was trying to hold her back from going inside. They were just boys. Not like they were possessed... maybe. "I've been in a frat house before, Dean."

Dean raised an eyebrow at that. What was his sister doing in a house full of guys? It was bad enough to him that she was dating.

"Okay, I know that look. A few of Will's friends from the football team were frat boys. It's not a big deal," Delaney sighed, her hand still placed on the handle of the door. "If they can't handle a girl being in their presence, I'd love to see their faces when frat parties happen and all the sorority girls strut in. Trust me, I can handle frat boys."

Sam and Dean exchanged a look as Delaney got out of the car. They quickly got out after her and watched as she strutted her way over to three guys working on a car.

"Hi," Delaney greeted with a flirtatious smile. "Nice car."

The boys turned away from the car and rose a curious brow at the petite girl standing in front of them with the two giant guys standing behind her. They all seemed to look her up and down and Sam nearly had to hold Dean from attacking them for looking at her like they wanted to eat her.

"I'm from your sister sorority and I was asked to show these two newbies to their new frat house. Is it okay if I take them inside?" Delaney questioned as she twirled a strand of hair around her finger. She remembered a bunch of the sorority girls using this tactic when they wanted something from one of the frat guys. It worked about ninety-nine percent of the time, so she hoped it worked this time. She didn't really get to be up front and help in the hunts yet and she wanted to prove she could act just as well as Dean and Sam.

The frat boys quietly talked amongst themselves for a moment. They eventually turned back to Delaney and signaled for her to escort her brothers into the house.

"Thanks," Delaney flashed them one last sweet smile before she sauntered over to the front door. "That's how you win over frat boys, my dear brothers."

"I cannot believe I just watched my baby sister flirt," Sam shuddered with a shake of his head. "You're almost as good as Dean, Delly."

Delaney winked at Sam over her shoulder and lead the way into the house. She asked around about where she could escort Dean and Sam to, and they wound up on the second floor on the last door to the right. She opened the door to see a kid painting his body purple.

At the sound of the door opening, the kid froze and looked up to see Delaney, Dean and Sam in the doorway. "Who are you?"

"We're your new roommates," Dean replied with a slight smile.

"Can you do me a favor? Get my back. Big game today," the kid questioned. He held the paint brush out to Dean who immediately held his hands up.

Dean hooked a thumb over his shoulder at Delaney. "She's the artist. She can help paint your back."

Delaney glared at Dean as she slowly took the brush from the kid. She flicked some paint at Dean's pants and smiled in satisfaction at the pissed off look he gave her.

"So... Murph, is it true?"

Murph turned to face the mirror again so Delaney could paint his back. "What?"

"We heard one of the guys here got killed last week," Dean noted as he flipped through one of the magazines on the table next to him.

Murph mumbled a soft "yeah" before he focused his attention back on the mirror. Delaney wondered if Murph and the kid were close or not.

"What happened?" Sam inquired softly.

"They're saying some psycho with a knife, maybe a drifter passing through. Rich was a good guy," Murph explained.

Sam held the can up for Delaney as she needed more purple for Murph's back. "Rich was with somebody?"

"Not just somebody - Lori Sorenson," Murph replied with a smirk.

"Who's Lori Sorenson?" Dean asked and glanced down at the kid's back. "You missed a spot on the back."

Delaney sent a dark look at Dean and nearly grabbed the can from Sam to dump over Dean's head. Sam seemed to read her thoughts because he slowly moved the bucket of paint behind his back.

"Lori's a freshman," Murph answered. "She's a local. Super hot. And get this - she's a reverend's daughter."

Dean closed the magazine he was aimlessly flipping through and leaned forward. "You wouldn't happen to know which church, would you?"

Delaney rushed after her brothers once they were all out of the car. "Guys, mass already started. It's rude to walk in when he's in the middle of a homily."

"So, we'll be quiet," Dean said in duh tone. "Stop worrying."

Delaney ducked as Dean went to playfully ruffle her hair. "Can't we just wait until he's done? We can't talk to his daughter until then anyway."

Dean ignored Delaney and made his way into the small church. Delaney sighed and followed after Sam and Dean. She flinched when the door slammed closed behind her and everyone in the church turned to look at the three with a dissatisfied look. Delaney lightly punched Dean in the back as she followed him and Sam to a pew in the back.

"The loss of a young person is particularly tragic," the reverend continued after a moment of silence. "A life unlived is the saddest of passing. So, please, let us pray for peace, for guidance, and for the power to protect our children."

Everyone in the church bowed their head in silence and said a prayer to themselves. Delaney nudged her brothers to bow their heads with her.

After the reverend said a few more prayers to those in attendance, he dismissed them and the three Winchester siblings made their way outside. Lori was stood by herself, smiling warmly and politely greeting those that went up to her.

Sam took a bold step forward and approached her first. "Are you Lori?"

"Yeah," Lori politely replied.

Delaney tilted her head as she took Lori in. She could see the appeal with Lori Sorenson. She had this innocent look to her and a lot of the guys seemed to fall for the innocent look these days. One of those guys just so happened to be Sam. Delaney could tell by the way he seemed a little nervous to be in front of her.

"I'm Sam. This is my older brother Dean and our sister Delaney," Sam greeted and gestured to Dean and Delaney as he mentioned them. "We just transferred here to the university."

"Oh yeah, I saw you three inside."

Sam scratched the back of his neck awkwardly. "Um, well, we don't want to bother you. We heard about what happened."

"We just wanted to say how sorry we were," Delaney added. "I know what you're going through. I saw someone get hurt once, and it's something you don't really... forget."

Lori gave a small nod and smiled softly when her father came over to them. "Dad, this is Sam, Dean and Delaney. They're new students."

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Sir," Dean greeted and shook the man's offered hand. "I must say that was an inspiring sermon."

Lori's father smiled kindly at Dean. "Thank you. It's so nice to find young people who are open to the Lord's message."

Dean chuckled softly. "Listen, the three of us are new in town, and we're looking for a, uh, church group."

Delaney rose an eyebrow as she watched Dean lead the man away. She turned to her other brother to see him shift awkwardly beside her.

"Tell me, Lori," Sam began, scratching the back of his neck, "what are the police saying?"

"Well, they don't have a lot to go on. I think they blame me for that," Lori admitted, looking a little upset by that fact.

"What do you mean?" Delaney inquired, wondering why they would peg someone as innocent as Lori to be at fault.

"My story," Lori responded. "I was so scared, I guess I was seeing things."

Sam shook his head. "That doesn't mean it wasn't real."

Delaney nodded in agreement. Now that she knew of the supernatural world, Delaney knew that anything was possible at this point. So whatever Lori thought she saw, it was more than likely real. "Yeah, seeing is believing right?"

"So, you guys believe her?" Dean questioned as he lead his two younger siblings through the library of the college.

"We do," Delaney confirmed. "I don't see why we shouldn't."

"Yeah, there's something in her eyes," Sam added as he followed Dean around a corner of bookcases. "She heard scratching on the roof and found the bloody body suspended upside down over the car."

Dean froze and turned to face his two younger siblings. "Bloody body suspended? That sounds like – "

"The Hookman legend," Sam finished for Dean.

"That's like one of the most famous Urban Legends," Delaney noted, looking between her brothers. "You seriously don't think we're dealing with the Hookman do you?"

Sam merely shrugged. "I mean, every urban legend has a source. A place where it all began."

"What about the scratches and the tire punctures and the Invisible Killer?" Delaney challenged and crossed her arms across her chest. "How do you explain that?"

"Maybe the Hookman isn't a man at all. What if it's some kind of spirit?"
