THE NEXT MORNING, maeve woke up pretty early to cook some breakfast for her family.

as they we're eating, jensen received a call about him having to return to work tomorrow, meaning he would have to book a flight for today afternoon.

around 2am, genevieve and maeve went to go drop off jensen at the airport. as the mother and daughter duo were driving back, genevieve suggested for her daughter to go hang out with her friends, since damian ended up going to the studio and sofia went last minute shopping with a friend.

in all honesty, it hurt knowing her mother just wanted one whole day with her family together. although, maeve tried to convince her mother that she just wanted to stay with her, but genevieve insisted for her to go hang out with her friends.

so that's where maeve was, with tayler a minute away from the sway house.

"has jaden tried to reach you?" he asked

"nope" maeve muttered

"maybe we took this too far—

"can i ask you something?" she interrupts

tayler looks over to her "yeah"

"i want you to be one hundred percent honest with me" she answered and tayler nodded "how long?"

"tayler, if you truly care for me like i know you do...just tell me" she pleads

as they reached the sway house, tayler parks his car, turning it off and sitting to face maeve

"a week...i think" he whispers

she slowly nodded as tears weld up in her eyes

"he was right" she whispers as she lets out a small chuckle

"who?" tayler questions

maeve shook her head slightly "it doesn't matter" taking a deep breath and exhaling "thank you"

"i'm sorry for not telling you earlier" he mutters

"don't worry...at least you told me now" she smiles softly "he's not here is he?"

as the two got off tayler went over to her and immediately hugged her. a few tears fell from her face, not being able to hold them back anymore.

tayler made sure to keep maeve distracted as much as he could. that is until jaden came home. he glanced at maeve and tayler who were on the couch eating popcorn as they watched good girls.

maeve noticed that jaden was coming to sit next to her, so she quickly got up "ima go use the bathroom" tayler nodding

before maeve could shut the door from the downstairs bathroom, jaden walked in and closed the door.

"please leave" she whispers not looking at him

"not before you explain what the fuck that was yesterday?" he responds trying not to get angry but miserably failing

when she didn't respond, jaden grabbed her waist pulling her back to him and turned her so she can look at him

"get off me!" maeve said as she tried to get out of his hold

"bet you weren't telling tayler that last night" he says harshly "answer me!"  making maeve flinch, just like old times

"you want answers?!" she yells as she uses all of her force to release his harsh grip "how about you tell me how long you've been fucking laylani!" maeve calls out bitterly

"answer me!" she cries out angrily

in one swift move, jaden spins her around and has her pinned to the wall, hand by her jaw

"you really wanna know?" he chuckles as she see's maeve struggling under his grip "two weeks" he whispers in her ear

maeve felt like she couldn't breathe "and i'll tell you what" he laughs slightly "i don't need you anymore...i got what i wanted" he smirks as he looks her up and down, his eyes landing on her lips, he pulls her face towards his and forcefully kisses her, biting her lower lip

she pushes him off of her "i was so stupid to believe you could change. god i'm so stupid....what we had was poisoned from the start. you may have gotten what you wanted from me. but i can promise you this....no matter how many girls you end up with or how many drugs you take...at the end of the day, you'll always be broken inside. and i'm done trying to fix you...and don't come crawling to me when you start feeling lonely again, because i won't be there for you this time. i'm done being your little puppet"

trying to walk away from him he grabs her hand, but he quickly lets it go once maeve's hand strikes his cheek and with that she rushed out of the bathroom, making her way to the living room, but she bumps into tayler along the way

"hey hey hey what's wrong?" he questions immediately hugging her as he sees her in tears

maeve quickly shakes her head "j-just take me home p-p-please" as she wipes her tears away

the whole car ride was quiet, maeve was just staring out the window. she kept on thinking, when shit didn't go his way he needed for her to fix it, and like she is she did. it also gave her time to think, she told him he's broken but if she's being honest with herself, he broke her first.

tayler on the other hand wanted to be their for the girl, but he knew she needed space. as he dropped her off, maeve thanked him and promised him that she would call him if she needed him.

luckily, her mom and siblings weren't home, as she reached her bedroom she closed the door behind her and just let the tears fall freely.
