โ€”mother knows best

LARA WATKINS is terrifying.

Being a part of the ballet world, she learned that the only way to survive is to be more cutthroat than the next person trying to steal her spot as the next Prima.

Lara Watkins is terrified.

Her mother, Madame Isabelle Watkins, is one of the only constants she's had in her life. The hunger to please her grows day by day, as does the Madame's obsession for perfection. Nothingโ€“ no step, no pirouette and no leap Lara does is good enough to please her skyโ€“high expectations.

Yet despite this, she still worships the ground her mother walks on. She is the centre of her universe, and Lara is trapped in her deadly gravity.

So when she leaves to go to New York, where she is offered a place to instruct a state of the art ballet school, Lara is left with a gaping black hole in her universe.

It began sucking out all the light in her lifeโ€“ her grades, her sleep and her girlfriend, Max Baker.

She was raised believing 'mother knows best.'

So who knows best when mother leaves?

A/N: Okay, so I have finally written the prologue! It's probably crap, but oh well.

I should probably let you know that this is not a Maxโ€“friendly story. Don't get me wrong, I love Max just as much as the next person, but it doesn't make sense for my character to like her, and for Max to like my character.

I'd appreciate if you guys could maybe drop a few comments, because it motivates me to upload more.
