THE FULL MOONLIGHT ENCASED Lana McCall in a soft glow that made her tan skin twinkle like liquid gold through her open window. She let out a low graon as she stretched on her soft bed, her back arched like a cat's and her round ass swayed in the air. Her body was sore and tiredness crept into her bones and she wanted nothing more than to slip under the covers and go to sleep but it was the first day of her Sophomore year and even if she wanted to her best friend, Cheryl Martin would never allow her.

"You still there?" a sultry voice flowed over the speaker of Lana's phone and Lana stopped stretching and laid down normally then pulled the phone closer to her and replied with a yes.

"Good because I still haven't picked out my outfit for tomorrow!" Cheryl said and Lana rolled her eyes, She had already helped pick out three outfits for her but she kept changing her mind. Lana's dark brown eyes strayed on the small clock on her bedside table and grimaced at the blaring numbers,

It wasn't the first time Lana had been up past her curfew and wouldn't be her last, not by a long shot but she had gone shopping with Cheryl earlier and was tired, especially after the long shift she pulled at the local hospital. She was doing an internship under her mother's watchful eye over the summer to earn some cash and because her mother didn't give her a choice in the matter. It wasn't like Lana wanted to be a nurse or anything disgusting like that, she hated all bodily fluids and hated unnecessarily touching people especially old and sick people fearful she would catch it. She had no problem with blood and had been a big help with the previous week's blood drive and loved jabbing needles into people.

"Come on Cher it's late and I need my beauty sleep," she stated while she got up from her bed and placed a pair of black heels on her vanity for the morning. Her outfit was ironed and ready to be worn and she was going to wear the fuck out of it. She grabbed her bottle of coco butter lotion from her white vanity and started applying it on her arms seeing as her legs were freshly shaved and were slathered in lotion and her toenails were painted a dark purple. Her damp hair was up in a soft towel and would be nicely curled in the morning.

"I know, I know! I just got to have the best outfit because Lydia will not be upstaging me for a second time!" Cheryl said, her annoyance clear through the phone and Lana chuckled, The Martin twin sister rivalry was strong and was peak entertainment for the McCall girl. Her twin brother, Scott was the complete opposite to her, he was a guy first of all and was as low maintenance as a cockroach and was labelled a 'loser' while Lana was the popular cheerleader type alongside the Maritn Queenbees. They were as close as they could be with their busy and different lives and Lana would always protect him because she was the oldest, by one minute, something she loved to flaunt and hold over Scott's head.

Lana went to say something but froze after hearing a loud bang outside her window and picked up the phone and said, "Just wear the black skirt and the red-sleeved V top. I gotta go, Cherry, love you!" She hung up without waiting for a response and stood up from her bed then quietly tiptoed to the open window and peered down to the bottom story. It was late and she couldn't see anything with the darkness covering the entire street in a shroud of mystery and it seemed to make the shadows alive and slithered around making phantoms appear around corners. She picked up her brother's spare lacrosse stick that she said she would fix yesterday after she heard yelling.

She walked out of her room, the lacrosse sticks high up in her hands as she crept down the stairs and out the door. She was thankful her mother was still at work and not able to see her paranoid self. She honestly should've known that it was Stiles, he would be the only one creeping around near midnight. He was hanging upside down on the roof talking to Scott who by the looks of it had a similar idea with his wooden bat in his hand.

"Stiles," Lana called out annoyed and the shaved-haired boy squeaked and dropped into the bush below him. She shook her head in annoyance and wrapped the robe around her body tighter since it was cold, luckily she was wearing pyjama shorts and a top instead of just underwear.

"You okay buddy?" Scott asked, leaning over the bannister porch and Stiles pulled up a thumbs up and stood up with a groan and dusted the leaves and dirt off him. He pulled himself up over the bannister and Lana asked, "What are you doing here? School's tomorrow."

"Don't you just skip half the days anyway?" Stiles asked confused, he had seen the McCall girl slip away and not come back till a few hours later smelling of cigarettes. Lana shrugged innocently with a smirk and Stiles shook his head and just pulled Scott towards him by his shoulders and explained, "As I was saying, they're bringing in every officer from the Beacon Department, and even State Police."

Lana furrowed her perfectly plucked eyebrows and asked, "Why?"

Stiles had a manic smile on his face as he answered, "Two joggers found a body in the woods."

Lana perked up at the sound of that, murder and crime were a pastime of hers and she loved listening to crime podcasts, it was probably the only thing she had in common with Scott's best and only friend, Stiles Stilinski.

"A dead body?" Scott gasped and Lana sent him a deadpan look while Stiles rolled his eyes and sarcastically said, "No, a body of water. Yes, dumbass, a dead body!"

"You mean like murdered?" Scott asked dumbly and Stiles shrugged and explained, "Nobody knows yet. Just that it was a girl, probably in her 20s."

Lana smiled and said, "Always is. Thank God, I always thouhgt nothing interesting would happen to this stupid place."

"Someone is dead, Lana," Scott deadpaned and Lana shrugged unphased and asked, "So?"

Scott shook his head at his older sister and asked Stiles, "If they found the body, then what are they looking for?"

"That's the best part...they only found half!" Stiles told the McCall twins and Scott gaped at him while Lana buzzed with excitement. Stiles paused for a moment for dramatic effect before finishing, "We're going."

"Give me a second!" Lana said and raced back into the house and pulled off the towel around her hair and fluffed it out and took off her robe and then placed a hoodie on and slipped into a pair of leggings. She quickly tied up a pair of white sneakers on, thankful for her past self for putting socks on. She grabbed her phone and a pair of keys and slipped them in her pocket and was down outside and locked the door behind her and met the boys in Roscoe, Stile's beloved blue Jeep.

THE THREE OF THEM reached the outskirts of Beacon Hill's forest in Rosce and Stiles stopped and they all got out. "We're seriously doing this?" Scott asked once he got out as he warily glanced around like an axe murderer was going to come jumping out.

"You're the one always bitching that nothing ever happens in this town," Stiles says turning on his flashlight and earning a hiss from Lana when he accidentally shined it in her eyes, "Sorry!"

Lana just threw a glare at him and wrapped her arm around Scott then said in his ear, "Grow some balls Scotty!" Scott groans and pushes her face away from his and poutes, "I was trying to get a good night's sleep before practice tomorrow."

They started trekking through the forest and Stiles sassily shot back Scott, "Right, 'cause sitting on the bench is such a gruelling effort."

"No, because I'm playing this year. In fact, I'm making the first line..." Scott trailed off defensibly and Lana had to cover her mouth before she laughed, "Yeah no your not." She couldn't help herself and laughed at the annoyed expression on his face that was pointed at her.

"Great school spirit. Everyone should have a dream, even if it's an unrealistic one," Stiles bluntly said with a fake cheerful voice. Lana gave him a high-five and Scott pouted even more, "You guys are seriously mean."

"You make it so easy to bully your little brother..." Lana trailed off, hiding her smirk under her dark purple acrylic nails, She realized they were looking good despite the hours at the hospital.

"So just out of curiosuty, which half of the body are we looking for?" Scott questioned Stiles who was leading the charge. "Huh,,,I didn't think about that." He replied with a shrug.

"My bets on the top half, better than the bottom half I reckon," Lana said with a smile and Scott sent her a look.

"Uhm what if whoever killed the body is still out here?" Scott asked another question and Lana pulled him into her and smirked, "I'll keep ya safe!"

"Also something I didn't think about," Stiles muttered and Scott rolled his eyes, amusement clear in his eyes as they began to hike up a hill, "It's comforting to know you've planned this out with your usual attention to detail."

They climbed up a hill and Scott's breathing became shallow and wheezy as they continued up the hill and Scott struggled to keep up with them both. "Maybe the severe asthmatic should be the one holding the flashlight, huh?" Scott snarked and Lana pulled him along and soon they reached the top, spotting a handful of cops ahead of them waving flashlights around.

Stiles and Lana turned their flashlights off and Lana pulled Scott down and they hid with no cover. Lana grimaced at the damp leaves and brushed them off her.

It wasn't even a minute before Stiles became antsy and jumped up about to run into the fray and Scott tried to pull him back. "Stiles! Wait!" Scott whispered and yelled at him but Stiles ignored them and urged them forward. As the McCall twins ran after him trying to catch up while they called his name.

Stiles finally heard their attempt at calling his name and while he was distracted a K9 officer's canine started barking at him, smelling his intense body spray and hearing his movements. Stiles, having a fear of dogs fell backwards onto the ground and showed the officer he was there. He held his hands up in a sign he was unarmed and not trying to cause harm as the deputy pointed his gun at the teenager and shouted, "Hold it right there!"

"Hang on, hang on," an officer said, walking forward and the flashlight shined on him showing it was Sherriff Noah Stilinski, Stiles's father. Stiles stood up on his feet, shielding his eyes from the flashlights and grimaced when his father said, "This little delinquent belongs to me."

Stiles, like usual tried to play it cool, greeting his father warmly who was clearly not in the mood for his antics. "So, do you, uh, listen in to all of my phone calls?"

"No, heh...," Stiles began laughing sheepishly, rubbing his neck but Sheriff Stilinski gave him a warning look so he finished, "Not the boring ones."

The sheriff only sighed like he was thoroughly done with his son and life at this point. "Now, where's your usual partner in crime?" He asked, looking around for his only friend, Scott McCall, a boy whom Stiles brought him along in everything that seemed like trouble.

"Who, Scott? Schott's home with his sister! He said he wanted to get a good night's sleep for the first day back at school tomorrow and Lana's probably planning her next prey - honestly, I'm surprised she hasn't gone after you," Stiles rambled and gained another warning look from his father to just simply shut his mouth, seeing the deputy next to him choke on his spit. Sitles coughed and said, nodding at his words confidently," It's just me. In the woods...Alone.''

Lana rolled her eyes so hard she worried they would be stuck permanently. Stiles was so bad at lying or just in tense situations and there was no need to even mention her. But now that he did, she couldn't help but think of the Sheriff in a new light, he had been single for years after the death of his wife. But she knew he would never touch her since he was a 'man of the law' and all - insert eye roll.

The Sheriff didn't buy his son's rambles and yelled out in the forest, shining his torch around, "Scott, you out there? Lana? Scott?" The bark of the tree dug into Lana's thin clothing as she held her hand over her brother's mouth, desperately trying to hide. Her reputation would be over if she was caught out with either of them, looking for a random body.

Stilinski gave up after a moment of silence and grabbed his son by the back of his neck, tugging him forward and walking him to the entrance of the preserve. "Well, young man, I'm gonna walk you back to your car. And you and I are gonna have a conversation about something called "invasion of privacy"," he muttered to his son, not knowing whether to cry or laugh at his son's nonsense, It was too late and his body was running off coffee fumes to be mad or simply anything at that point.

"Well there goes out ride," Lana groaned once the sheriff left with their only ride, Stiles. Lana knew Cheryl would be asleep and Lydia and Jackson would be also asleep in each other's arms or some shit. It would also be too awkward for her to call any of her past or current hookups. So, the twins waited for the coast to be clear of any police officers and she let go of her brother and the pair began to walk the same path they'd taken earlier.

Lana pulled her hood up as thunder started to roll in and crossed her arms tighter around her midsection, trying to keep warm from the cold air and she was mentally hitting herself for coming. She wouldn't be getting any good hours of sleep and she was certain she'd have eyebags in the morning. Even if she probably was going to ditch near the end, she still had work after school at three.

"Do you have any money for a taxi? I didn't bring anything," Lana asked warily glancing around the dark forest and cursing as rain droplets started coming down. She had just washed her hair and was probably going to be sick in the morning.

Scott shook his hand as he pulled his inhaler out of his hoodie pocket, shaking it and breathing it in and once he was down he was going to say no when a herd of deer stampeded their way towards them. Lana and Scott's eyes widened at the random situation they now found themselves in and jumped out of the way with a scream but Scott's inhaler flew out of his hands landing several meters away.

Once the stamp was gone, Lana released a shaky breath and asked, "What the fuck was that? Since when did deer do that?"

Scott shrugged still shaken up over the fact he was run over by a bunch of deer and said, "I dropped my inhaler! Mom is going to kill me!"

Lana rolled her eyes and muttered, "Yeah right, your her precious baby."

Scott ignored her and pulled his phone out, using the light to search for it and Lana did the same and suddenly felt like Velma looking for her glasses, searching around blindly. Scott moved the light around and came up empty beside the upper half of a dead body - the very same one they had come there to find. He shouted in fright, stumbling down the hill behind them and Lana shined the light to where he was pointing.

Lana froze for a moment as a pair of open and dead eyes seemed to stare back at her. "I guess we found her," Lana attempted a joke and turned around seeing as Scott didn't say anything and realized he was gone.

"Scott?" Lana whispered and yelled shining the light everywhere for her brother but came up empty and her yells became more frantic as she raced down the hill hearing Scott's yells. When she reached the bottom Scott had stood up on shaky legs and Lana pulled him towards her and he groaned. He gingerly touched his waist and Lana pulled his shirt up to see a bloody bite on his abdomen.

"Fuck, come on we need to go home," Lana grimaced at the bite, her mom was going to kill her.

THE MCCALL TWINS MADE it home in one piece surpinsgly but their feet hurt from the long trek they made on foot. Lana helped clean the bite and bandage Scott's wound up and was going to get something at the hospital later tomorrow for an infection. They couldn't risk getting their mother's help for fear of being in trouble.

"What the hell happened? What bit you?" Lana asked her brother as she placed a clean piece of gauze over the bite and went to wrap a bandage around his stomach. Pieces of red gauze and tissues littered the sink.

"I don't know! It was like a massive animal or something...it had red eyes," he explained with furrowed eyebrows and grimaced in the mirror.

"Red eyes?" Lana dubiously asked as she shook her head, "Okay so you definitely hit your head too," she said with a sigh and was about to go get an icepack for him when he stopped her. "Uh..thanks for this and for coming along," he softly said with a smile and Lana ruffled his hair since she thought he looked like a little puppy like usual.

"Of course T, i am the older sister," Lana bragged trying to lighten the now heavy and vulnerable atmosphere. She hated being vulnerable and soft, maybe it was the long list of issues that were caused by one man - her father who was a raging alcoholic and left them when they were young.

Scott rolled his eyes with a scoff and replied, "Yeah well I'm more physically inclined!"

Lana sent him a deadpan look, "Your literally a asthmatic..."

Scott blinked then collapsed on his bed mumbling "don't reminded me," which Lana laughed at. "I gotta go back and get my inhaler before mom founds out and kills me in my sleep," he muttered after he rolled back around to her.

Lana nodded unsympathetically at his plight, "Yeah she will," she agreed.

Scott groaned and stuffed his face in his pillow and Lana laughed before leaving him to wallow alone.
