*Eyes angle of Yana*
I woke up in a small white room. My hands were tied. Where am I? How did I get here? I tried to remember, but there was a great pain in my head. It hurt immensely. Images flashed before my eyes. I was in a bowling bar with Hobi. We were drinking and bowling. We were having a good time. Then suddenly a sentence rang in my ear.
"I killed your father." came a voice. Who could have said it? Hobi? Surely it can't be... Why would he do that? Dad and I had gotten along really well since we were little. But if it wasn't Hobi, who could it be? It's like I summoned him. He came through the door himself.
'I've brought you some painkillers.' he came in with a glass of water and medicine in his hand. I nodded and took the pilura from him and took it. It made me feel much better. Silence settled between us. Hobi sat down next to me and leaned towards me. I pulled away.
'I just want to untie your hands.' he said, a little broken. I nodded and let him. He untied the cords and my wrist almost groaned with freedom. I rubbed them gently and then made circular motions. 'Does it hurt? ' he would have put his hand on it, but I pulled it away. I could see pain in his eyes. It made me feel a little guilty. I held out my hand to him, and he put his hand on it with sparkling eyes and began to massage it. I felt I had to break the silence.
'Is it really true? ' I asked in a hoarse voice. He raised his eyes to me and looked away.
'Yes ' he replied, barely audible.
'So...' I took a deep breath 'When we got to our house that day...' my voice trailed off, tears welling up in my eyes 'the day dad died and you were with me. You really knew the people at our house didn't you? ' I looked up at him.
'Yes ' he repeated again 'they were my people. I sent them.'
Tears were falling from my eyes. My hand began to shake.
'That time we were in the street and a van followed us. You knew him and the guy in the suit, right? ' I asked with a little edge in my voice. 'You were there, right?! ' I grabbed his shirt.
'I was there, yes.' he replied 'You should have died that day.'
'WHAT?! ' I shrieked. 'Hobi, you...' I was completely shocked by his words.
'But D was there.' he slammed the bed nervously. 'If he hadn't been there, it would have been all over! '
I couldn't believe my ears. Everything was a complete mess. Is that the truth now? Isn't it? Is that what Hobi always wanted? Is he really the same Hobi we used to go to the playground with in the afternoons when we were kids? Is he my best friend? How could I be so blind and...
'I suppose you blame yourself for everything now.' he looked at me knowingly. 'You've always done that.' he took my hand. 'But it's all right. None of this is your fault. It's not your fault.'
'What are you talking about? ' I stammered.
'You don't have to know everything.' he looked away. 'But you'll soon have your D-Day.' he laughed. 'Or as your precious friend says.'
I narrowed my eyes in puzzlement.
'Don't play dumb with me.' he grinned and took his phone out of his pocket. He pressed something and then showed me a picture. My eyes widened. It was me and we were in D. D.'s room. That must have been the night he called me in. I had my back turned and was sitting on D's lap.
'You...' I looked at him with rage in my eyes. 'You were looking for me?! ' I shouted at him, and he laughed devilishly. The blood in my body froze completely. This is no longer the man I used to play hopscotch with or fight over the strawberry ice cream Dad used to give us. He's no longer my best friend. He's not my friend anymore! He's become a completely different person. A person I never want to see again in my life. The tension was building inside me. No it's not at all, it's because he caught me with D! Although that bothered me, it wasn't the main reason. It was what he did to my father. When did you plan all this? Why would he do that? Do I want to know? Does D know about this? Did you know about this? If he did, I think he would have intervened, knowing him. According to him, he was close to my father. I mean... he was there when that guy in the van was chasing me. He was the man in the suit. He was the one who saved me. He... he saved me. He said he wouldn't sacrifice himself for anybody. He did it for me. My heart started beating faster. D loves me? My mind was suddenly flooded with memories of the times I'd shared with D. D... would he come for me? Does he know where I am? Knowing him, it's only a matter of time before he's here. I trust him. In the meantime, I have to keep Hobi busy.
I put on a grim expression. Hobi's face also turned serious. However, he confidently pulled himself out while I could not. A mocking smile appeared on his lips.
'I still know a lot of things you have no idea I know.' he said in a foreboding tone. What else could it be...?
