" 'Dad! Will you take me to the playground today? ' "  I was bouncing my favourite ball in my hands in front of my father.

'I have important things to do today, but Hobi will be here soon and you can go down with him.' he patted the top of my head. My eyes immediately lit up at the name of my best friend.

'When? When? When?' I kept asking my father and then suddenly the bell rang. I sprinted to the door.

'Hi Yana! Hello, Yana's daddy!' the boy smiled broadly.

'Let's go Hobiiii!' I jumped into his neck as a greeting and started to pull. 'I'll be back!' I called back over my shoulder before closing the door.

' Take care! Have fun and I'll come get you! Bye! ' Dad yelled after us.

We were happily playing ball with Hobi when a group of kids came up to us.

'Can we join in? ' they asked all at once.

'Sure! ' said Hobi cheerfully, and I nodded approvingly.

'Great! Then let's form two teams and play football! ' one of them suddenly took the ball out of my hand.

'Hey! That's my ball!' I shouted at the boy. My eyes were about to well up with tears.

'If it was yours, would you die for it?' he looked at me with a devilish smile. I looked at the boy, shaken. I could say nothing. He laughed. 'You see! If it had been so important to you, you would have been willing to die for it.'" 

*Present*

If I care about something, will fate invite me to a life-and-death struggle? But more importantly. It's always my own life or nothing at all. The hand of fate will never be kind to me, will it?

'Begin! You may use whatever weapon you find on the table next to you. ' said D. We nodded in unison.

Brian chose a knife and held it out to me.

'Say hello to what will be the death of you! ' he laughed. He left me completely cold. I took a small burst from the tray. For some reason it instantly caught my eye. It had a beautiful silver decoration on the handle. I ran my finger along it. It resembled one of my father's daggers that he always carried with him wherever he went. 'It shows what a loser you are! ' he laughed, pointing to my weapon, 'You chose the one that made your own death absolutely certain.'

'We'll see.' I twisted the small metal in my hand.

'I'm the only one of us who will see it! Not you." he said, and started running towards me, holding his knife above his head. I took a step to the side without looking at him. Needless to say, he fell to the ground beside me. 'Don't mess with me! ' he shouted at me at the top of his voice, and the crowd burst out laughing.

'Did you say something?' I looked down at the boy. I leaned closer to him, which I regretted afterwards. Brian grabbed my neck with both hands and began to choke me.

'You'll never say anything again! ' he grinned broadly. I started to choke. 

On an impulse, I kicked him good in the groin and then I kicked him out and pinned one hand to his shoulder blade, knocking him prone.

'And you see, I didn't have to use anything to bring you down! ' I laughed. He suddenly slipped out from under me and turned me on my back. Now he was on top. He was holding my arm with both feet while he held his knife in his hand.

'This is the end, run away from me, darling.' he said, and then he came closer and closer with the metal.

He hadn't thought of my flexibility, and I took advantage of it. I suddenly wrapped my legs around his neck and started to pull him back. 

'What the...? ' he looked at me, his eyes widening.

'Don't underestimate your enemy! ' I pushed him off me and started to dust myself off.

'And you, don't be careless! ' he cut me off suddenly. Did he really want to retaliate with that? This is ridiculous!

I laughed and reached for my wound.

'That's it? Is that all you can afford? I thought that was why...' I raised my eyebrows, but my vision was blurring and my head was hurting more and more. What is happening to me? I don't think it's the medicine. I suddenly reached into my pocket. The box I needed was not there. What should I do now?
