"I said I'm fine-"

"No, you're not. Now give it to me and go take a rest!"

"I'm pregnant! Not crippled!"

A certain (h/c) haired girl argued with her husband as she pouted and tugged on one side of the laundry basket while he pulled onto the other side.

"I'm not saying that either! But a pregnant woman needs to rest!"

He argued back with a frown on his face as he'd had enough of her stubbornness now.

Using his masculine strength, the male pulled the basket towards himself with such force that it ended up in one of his arms while his wife was caught in the other one.

"Ah! Hey-"

Before the female could say anything, he placed a finger on her lips and said sternly,

"Enough arguments for today. Now you're gonna go to the bedroom and rest while I'll do the chores."

"But-"

"Am I clear?"

The strict way in which he said it made the (e/c) eyed girl flinch slightly as she nodded slowly before huffing and going back into their bedroom.

Her husband watched her go and as soon as she closed the bedroom door, he let out a sigh of relief before going upstairs with the laundry basket.

In the bedroom:

(Y/N) sighed in slight frustration as she sat down on the bed with her arms crossed, thinking about the incident earlier.

'Hmph! All I wanted to do was help with the chores because I didn't want Shu to be burdened by both office and house work. But he just doesn't want me to help him!'

She looked at her swollen belly and placed her hand on it, caressing it slightly as she muttered,

"Baby, your daddy is a good man but sometimes he can be really strict and a meanie. You agree with mommy, right?"

As if in response, the female felt a kick in her stomach and a wide smile appeared on her face.

"I knew it! You also agree with mommy."

Slowly, (Y/N) laid down on the bed, on her side as she closed her eyes and thought about her and Shu's unborn baby.

It had been 2½ years since (Y/N) and Shu had been married and now she was 9 months pregnant with their child.

As soon as they received this good news, the albino had picked up the girl in his arms and swirled her around before kissing her affectionately.

From then onwards, Shu was very VERY careful with his wife. He made sure she couldn't skip a meal; on days when she didn't feel like eating, he forced her (like a mom) to eat even if it was in a little amount, he hired servants to do the chores, and cooked all the meals himself (instead of resting when he comes back from the Bulls).

The (h/c) haired girl felt bad when she saw him cook for the both of them even though he used to be so tired after a long day at work and when she confronted him about it, this happened:

Case 1:

(Y/N): Shu! Let me help you cook! I can-"

Shu: "No." *stern tone* "I'll do it. You have some rest first."

(Y/N): "But Shu-"

Shu: "(n/n). I know you just want to help but you're pregnant. I'm not taking any risks by making you stand for a long time. Not when I can cook for us."

(Y/N): "But-"

Shu: "No more buts. End of discussion." *shoved her into the living room*

(Y/N): *pouts like a balloon*

Case 2:

(Y/N): "Hey Shu! Why don't we just hire a cook for cooking the meals? This way you can also have some rest and-"

Shu: "No. I'll do the cooking."

(Y/N): "But why?"

Shu: "Because I'm not trusting a stranger with cooking food. What if he or she mixes something in the food that's not good for you or for the baby? What if something happens to any of you huh? What will I do then?"

(Y/N): "You're overthinking, Shu. We can hire a professional co-"

Shu: "(Y/N). Whatever you want to eat, just tell me. I'll make it for you. No need for a 'cook' when I'm here."

(Y/N): *sighs in defeat*

Shu was being overprotective as hell. Yes, he was caring and brought every food that (Y/N) craved for, be it popcorns with tomato ketchup or just some normal Oreo flavour/hazelnut chocolates.

He even put up with the mood swings that she'd get. Once, (Y/N) began shouting and yelling at him because he didn't let her help with the chores. Later on the same day, she broke down crying because she regretted yelling at Shu.

However, Shu being the nice husband he is, embraced the girl in his arms and patted her back while whispering sweet words in her ear until she'd calmed down.

That was how (Y/N)'s first pregnancy went. But the real challenge for both Shu and her was the time of the delivery.

While the (h/c) haired girl tried her best to stay calm in the ninth month, the crimson-eyed albino just couldn't stop worrying.

Even if (Y/N) made the slightest sound of discomfort with a hand on her belly, Shu would come rushing to her and insist on taking her to the hospital.

If it hadn't been for the (e/c) eyed girl's stubbornness, Shu would've had her admitted to the hospital at the start of the ninth month.

He was really....nervous and wanted to make sure that both (Y/N) and his child would be fine after the delivery.

In the evening:

"Are you sure about this, (n/n)? I can stay back if you ne-"

"For the 36th time, I'm 100% sure! You can rest assured! Nothing will happen."

"But-"

Before he could say anything, (Y/N) put her index finger on his lips and said,

"I said it is fine. Nothing will happen in the next 2 hours. I'm sure of it."

Shu sighed softly before pulling the girl closer by her waist and placing a kiss on her forehead. Leaning his forehead on hers, he spoke gently,

"I promise I'll be back as soon as possible. But if you need me, just call me. I'll leave everything else and come to you first. Alright?"

"Hmm. Alright, I will."

"Good."

With that, the albino hugged the girl as she kissed his cheek before he finally left through the main door.

What was so urgent that forced him to leave his wife alone?

Apparently, Lain had called him and told him that there was a group of young boys who'd started a fight and weren't listening to anyone. He and Fubuki tried to stop them but they were being violent.

So, Shu had no choice but to go and sort things out himself. He was reluctant to go because of (Y/N)'s condition but the (h/c) haired girl being the soft-hearted girl she was, urged him to go and he ended up leaving.

After he left, (Y/N) walked back to their bedroom and sat down on the bed, caressing her belly as she said sweetly,

"I can't wait for you to be in my arms, baby. Mummy and daddy are eagerly waiting for you."

Then the (e/c) eyes of the girl wandered out of the window as she sighed softly and thought,

'I hope Shu will be able to resolve the issue and come home quickly.'

Suddenly, she felt a sharp pain in her stomach and let out a groan of pain before clutching her dress tightly.

"Ah!"

(Y/N) froze on the spot when she realised what had just happened.

Her waters broke.

She was going into labour!

As fast as she could, she reached out to her phone and called Shu.

"Hel-"

"Shu! The baby is coming! C-come quickly-"

"Hang in there, (Y/N)! I'm coming!"

Was what the albino said before hanging up the call. The (h/c) haired girl slid down to the floor and cried in pain as the contractions started hitting harder.

A few minutes later:

"(Y/N)!! (Y/N)! Look I'm here with the doctor!"

Shu exclaimed as he rushed into the house with a doctor and two nurses. Fortunately, there was a hospital near the Bulls so the doctor didn't take much time to arrive.

The four people hurried in the bedroom and the albino's eyes widened in shock when he saw his wife on the floor, crying and holding her stomach in pain.

"Quick! Get her on the bed!"

The doctor instructed as the nurses rushed to the bedside and Shu ran to (Y/N), picking her up bridal style before placing her on the bed.

As the doctor started, Shu sat on the side of the bed and held the crying girl's hand as he tried to soothe her,

"You can do it, (Y/N)! You can do it! Keep your breaths steady! You can do it!"

Timeskip:

The cries of a baby filled the room as the doctor let out a heavy sigh of relief before looking over at Shu and smiling,

"Congratulations, Mr. Kurenai. You have a beautiful daughter."

One of the nurses attended to (Y/N) as the other one looked after the baby while the crimson-eyed albino just sat there in shock; still trying to process what had happened.

"I..I'm a father now..."

"Yes, you are."

The doctor said, chuckling at the dumbfounded and shocked expression on Shu's face. Just then, the nurse came in with his daughter wrapped up in a baby blanket with a smile on her face.

"Here, Mr. Kurenai."

She said as she gently handed the child to him. At first, the albino had a hard time understanding how to hold her. But he can't be blamed. He'd never held a child before.

Shu looked at the cute sleeping face of the baby girl and smiled as he scanned her features.

She had all of (Y/N)'s traits. From her hair colour to her skin and her facial features. It was as if he was holding a mini version of his wife.

His eyes slightly widened when the baby slowly started to open her eyes. She couldn't properly do so because of the bright light and Shu seemed to have understood the problem.

He carefully put his hand over her eyes, casting a shadow so she could adjust and open her eyes.

"Wha..."

Shu's face first turned into a surprised one and then into one that held one of the widest smiles he'd ever had.

His daughter had crimson eyes like him!

"It seems like she's inherited your crimson eyes."

The doctor smiled and complimented as Shu nodded before letting the baby hold his finger and saying softly to her,

"Let's wait for mumma to wake up, alright?"

2 hours later:
Second person or 'You' P.O.V.

You groaned slightly as you opened your eyes and sat up slowly. Rubbing your eyes for a bit, you heard your husband's voice,

"We have a daughter, (n/n)."

Your eyes immediately opened wide as you sharply turned your head to him, only to see him holding a sleeping baby in his arms with a smile on his face.

"She..."

"Looks like you, doesn't she?"

You immediately nodded your head as you stared at your daughter in awe.

"Wanna hold her?"

He asked as he held her a little more towards your arms and you almost instantly took her in yours.

"She has crimson eyes like mine, (n/n)."

Shu said with a soft smile as he kissed your cheek while you were unable to take your eyes off of your baby. She was just so adorable.

"What should we name her, hmm?"

The albino asked as he looked at you and you thought carefully for a while before muttering,

"How about...(Daughter's Name)?"

"(D/N), hmm? It sounds beautiful but...what is the meaning of this name?"

"It means (Name Meaning)."

"Then it's decided. Her name will be (D/N) Kurenai."

Both of you smiled as Shu put his arm around your shoulder, making you lean closer to him as both of you looked at your sleeping daughter and you said,

"I love you, Shu."

"I love you too, (Y/N). Thank you for giving me this beautiful family."
