It was an entirely new type of storyline for me and I enjoyed writing it a lot! I hope you'll enjoy reading just as much as I did while writing this. 😊

Inside an office:

"Hey, Shu."

"Hmm?"

"We have a business party tonight. Our father's closest business partner will also be coming. So, we have to attend."

The albino said in an assertive way which made the other one who was sitting in his office chair, groan in annoyance.

"I hate going to parties."

"I know. I do too. But we've got no choice."

The albino wearing a black suit with a black tie said as he crossed his arms. His brother, wearing the same suit as him except he was wearing a red tie, looked at him and spoke,

"Y'know, I hate the way the women look at the both of us. And the way they try to be all flirty and clingy, makes me want to push them off the rooftop of our company's building."

"Yes, yes. I know you, brother. But you've got to control your temper. We don't want to cause a scene at the party."

"As you say, Red. I'll try my best."

Author's P.O.V.

Shu Kurenai and Red Eye were twin brothers. Both of them had identical crimson eyes and white hair. The only difference was that Red Eye's hair were slightly longer than Shu's and he had a scar over his right eye.

But why was Red Eye named Red Eye? Actually, he wasn't.

He did have a real name with the surname 'Kurenai' but it was very much similar sounding to Shu's. So, he changed it to Red Eye and except their mom, no one else could call him by his real name.

Even Shu didn't use it because he knew his brother preferred being called Red Eye more. Both the brothers cared for each other and would do anything to ensure the other's happiness.

Their father was an underworld mafia king and after he'd retired, he gave both his company CEO and his mafia leader positions to both his sons. And so far, Shu and Red Eye were working great together.

Both of them were handsome young men and whenever they were passing any public place, all the females used to stare and fawn over both of them, much to their annoyance.

Everytime Mrs. Kurenai asked them to find suitable girls for themselves, the brothers would get annoyed and tell her the same sentence,

''I don't believe in love! It's all nonsense!"

But what Shu and Red Eye didn't know was, they were going to fall in love at first sight themselves.

Timeskip:
At Night:

Both the Kurenai brothers were standing in a corner of the party hall, occassionally talking with their male business partners while having sips from their wine glasses from time to time.

"I'm getting really bored here."

Shu said as he yawned and placed a hand over his mouth while Red Eye slightly sweatdropped at him.

"Well, why don't you go and roam around for a while then? I'll be back in a few minutes. I need to use the restroom."

Red Eye suggested as he finished his wine and placed the glass down before turning around and walking off to the restroom's direction.

Shu sighed softly to himself as he took the suggestion and started walking around in the crowd while avoiding the women as best as he could without losing his temper.

As he did, he walked up the stairs of the hall from where he could get a good view of the entire party.

People eating and drinking, some couples dancing, men and women chattering but nothing interesting enough to pick the albino's interest. Until...

His gaze fell on a/an (h/c) haired girl who was wearing a beautiful (favourite colour(s)) dress with a matching hair accessory in her neatly styled hair.

The moment Shu looked at her, his first thought was,

'What if she was my future wife?'

A blush ran across the albino's face as he realised what he'd been thinking. But he couldn't help it. He found the girl really beautiful and wished to know her more.

So, he jogged down the stairs and went straight to the direction of the girl.

Meanwhile:

Red Eye had come back after 10 minutes and was now looking around for his brother.

'I hope Shu isn't causing trouble anywhere.'

He thought as he searched for his twin. While walking, his gaze fell on the same (h/c) haired girl whom Shu had seen earlier.

She was standing with an elderly man who Red Eye took to be the girl's father as the girl was talking happily to the man.

'She's really so beautiful. I wonder who she is.'

He thought as he stopped in his tracks to take a good look at the girl.

His cheeks and ears reddened (like his brother) when he realised what he'd been thinking. The albino placed a palm over his face as he scolded himself,

'Just what are you thinking Red Eye?!'

But his conscience told him to find out more about the (h/c) haired girl. Red Eye sighed to himself as he thought,

'I'll find out more about her. But later. I need to find Shu first. I don't want him losing his temper and killing the women in this party.'

And with that, he left to continue his search of his brother.

Little did he know, where Shu was.

Unlike Red Eye, Shu was a more straightforward person when it came to speaking out his mind. This was also the reason why Shu lost his temper way earlier than Red Eye.

As Shu approached the girl, the elderly man whom she was talking to, walked away to talk with someone else. Yup. The perfect opportunity.

"Hey."

Shu called out, feeling a little awkward. It was his first time taking initiative to talk to an unknown girl.

"Hello. Nice to meet you."

The (e/c) eyed girl greeted with a warm smile on her face.

The albino was surprised when the girl didn't show any special reaction upon seeing him. Most girls, when they saw him, either started fawning over him or would start flirting with him.

But this (h/c) haired girl didn't even seem to recognise him as the famous CEO of the Kurenai group.

Shu quickly cleared his throat as he smiled at her and asked,

"May I know your name?"

The girl blinked slightly as she tilted her head to her side before giving him a closed eye smile and replying,

"It's (Y/N). (Y/N) (L/N). What's yours?"

"My name is Shu Kurenai. (Y/N) is a beautiful name, by the way."

"Your name is nice as well."

(Y/N) smiled as she said that and Shu thought,

'She is so polite and friendly. I really want to know her more.'

"I was wondering if you'd like to be friends?"

"Sure thing. I love making new friends!"

"Great! Let's exchange numbers then."

Shu smiled as both of them took out their phones and exchanged their numbers.

A few weeks later:

After that party, Shu and (Y/N) began to talk a lot on both texts and calls. Unbeknownst to them, they were slowly becoming closer.

Meanwhile Red Eye always thought about the (h/c) haired girl (a.k.a. (Y/N)) whenever he got time.

He wanted to get more information about her but the problem was that he neither had any pictures of her nor did he know her name. So how was he supposed to ask his men to go and look for her?

But that wasn't the only thing that was on his mind. Lately, he'd been noticing how Shu was spending a lot of time on phone.

According to his observations, Shu often seemed to be texting and talking to a certain someone.

Red Eye couldn't help but always notice the brightness in Shu's eyes whenever he texted this person or the cheerfulness in his tone when he was talking to this special someone.

'I wonder who Shu is always talking to whenever he gets free time. Hmm...whoever it is, if they dare to make my brother upset then I'll make sure they never see the sun again.'

He thought as he walked along the hallway of the company. On the way, he saw Shu who was standing with his face towards the window and looked like he was in deep thought.

Red Eye raised an eyebrow as he walked towards his twin while thinking,

'I've never seen him like that. Whenever he's upset, he either vents it out on some poor employee or on the nearest object by breaking it. I wonder what happened...'

"Shu?"

He called out to him as the said albino blinked out of his thoughts and looked over to the direction of the voice.

"Hey, Red."

"Is something bothering you?"

"No..."

Shu's voice trailed off as he looked out of the window again. Red Eye sighed softly before placing his hand on his brother's shoulder as he said,

"You can't lie to your own brother. Something's clearly on your mind. Tell me what it is."

The crimson-eyed albino also sighed, realising that trying to hide it was useless as he turned to his twin and asked,

"Red...have you ever been in love?"

"Wha-"

Red Eye was taken aback by the question. He was expecting something business or mafia related to be the reason of Shu's upset mood.

This was...totally unexpected.

'I don't know the name or anything about the girl I saw at the party but I do know that I love her. So...it can be considered as being in love, right?'

He carefully thought before answering Shu who was looking at him with his eager crimson eyes. Taking in a deep breath, Red Eye nodded,

"Yes, I've been- wait- no. I still am in love."

"Really?!"

Shu asked as his eyes glimmered with hope which made Red Eye sweatdrop as he'd never seen his brother acting like that.

"Yes, re-"

"Have you confessed to her?"

Shu asked with a hint of excitement in his voice as he grabbed Red Eye by the shoulders which made him sweatdrop even more.

"No...not yet."

"Then how do you plan on doing so?"

"Why...are you so curious...to know that?"

"Because I've also got eyes on a girl and I also want to confess to her."

Shu said in an almost desparate tone as Red Eye just stared at him with a dumbfounded expression while thinking,

'Never in my life, I have seen Shu act so desparate to know something. I'm not the best when it comes to expressing feelings either but I can atleast try to help him out. Nothing matters more to me than my brother's happiness.'

"...Red?"

"Just be yourself while confessing to her."

"Huh?"

"Just be yourself and be honest when you confess your feelings to her, Shu."

Red Eye repeated himself as he placed his hands on his brother's arms. He had no idea who was charming enough to have caught his brother's eyes but he knew that if Shu had picked her, there must be something he saw in her.

"Alright. Thanks, Red."

"Anytime."

Later that day:

Red Eye had just finished the paperwork of the day and was now heading to the meeting room to give them to his secretary.

On the way, he saw Shu heading out of the meeting room in a hurry.

'Perhaps he forgot something...?'

He thought as he didn't think much of it and went in the meeting room. As soon as he entered, his eyes fell on the phone on the table that had a cover identical to his.

No doubt that it was Shu's.

Out of sheer curiosity, he picked it up and the phone's display lit up, showing the lockscreen wallpaper.

His eyes widened as he recognised the person in the picture. It was the girl from the party!

'This is the girl I saw at the party that night! Is this the girl that Shu's in love with?'

He thought as he felt a slight pain in his chest.

'Why...does it hurt? Is it because...I also like her? But...I can't. Shu loves her and she seems to love him as well. I can't come in between them...'

He thought as he placed Shu's phone back on the table and frowned. A part of him wanted to take this opportunity and get to know the girl more but another part of him told him that as a brother, he shouldn't take away something that brings a smile on his twin brother's face.

As Red Eye was contemplating with himself, he was brought back to reality when Shu's voice called out to him,

"Red! Here you are-"

Shu cut himself off in the middle when he saw his phone on the table and let out a sigh of relief as he walked to the table and picked it up.

"Thank goodness. I thought I'd lost my phone for a minute..."

He smiled to himself before looking over at Red Eye, not noticing the uneasy look on his face.

"Hey, Red. I've brought a guest."

"Hmm? Who is it?"

Red Eye asked curiously as it was very rare for Shu to bring a guest with him. Even if it were a business partner, Red Eye was always the one bringing them in.

"You'll see."

Shu smiled as he grabbed his hand and led him outside, to the cafeteria of the company.

"I'm back!"

Shu called out with a smile on his face as he made his way towards a certain table while dragging Red Eye along with him.

'Never in my life, I've seen him so happy before. I wonder who caused this change in-'

"Shu!"

A feminine voice called out cheerfully, once again snapping Red Eye out of his thoughts. He looked over at the direction of the voice, only to see that same (h/c) haired girl from the party.

But this time, she was wearing a beautiful red dress with silver and white star like markings on it. She was looking even more stunning in it.

"This is my twin brother. Red Eye."

Shu smiled as he introduced him and Red Eye quickly put up a gentle smile on his face before bowing his head to the girl as she did the same.

"A pleasure to meet you. I'm (Y/N) (L/N)."

"Pleased to meet you as well."

Red Eye said with a smile on his face but behind that smile was a frown. How he wanted to have made the move on her before his brother...

"She's my girlfriend, Red."

"Oh. That's...really great."

He said as he watched Shu wrap his arm around (Y/N) before both the lovers looked at each other with loving smiles on their faces.

'They look so happy together. Perhaps, I should forget the idea of trying to make a move on her. But I can't watch my brother and the girl I love loving each other everyday. It'll only hurt me and my feelings. I need to do something about this...'

He thought, not taking note of (Y/N) and Shu staring at him.

"Red? Is everything alright?"

Shu asked as he snapped his fingers once in front of his eyes. That was enough to snap him back to reality as he quickly nodded and smiled,

"Oh, yes. Everything is."

"Alright..?"

"You know, I think I'll be taking my leave first. I suddenly remembered I had some paperwork left to do."

"Huh? Really?"

"Yes, really."

"Alright then. I won't be pushy."

Shu said as he shrugged and Red Eye gave a soft (forced) smile before leaving the two of them alone.

After he was gone, Shu turned his attention to the (h/c) haired girl who'd been a silent observer while the brothers conversed.

"So..."

"So?"

"How about we have something to eat?"

The albino asked sweetly as he pulled the girl closer by her waist and kissed her head, making her giggle.

"Sure."

(Y/N) said as she stood on her toes and pecked Shu's cheek, making him smile.

The next day:
In the office:

"Hey Shu."

Red Eye called out as he walked in the room and found Shu doing paperwork on his desk as usual. The said albino looked up from the papers and replied,

"Hey Red. What's up?"

"I wanted to inform you about something. It's...pretty important."

"Sure. Go ahead."

"Our company has several branches across the world but the two most important ones are in Japan and America. We look well after the Japan one which is here but there's no one to look after the branch in America..."

"So...what are you trying to imply...?"

Shu asked as he raised his eyebrow a little and Red Eye took a deep breath before saying,

"I'll be going to America to look after that branch."

"WHAT?!"

Shu shouted in shock as he slammed his hands on the desk and stood up with a shocked expression on his face.

Red Eye just had his eyes closed as he stood there calmly - he'd expected this to be the reaction.

"Red, are you alright?"

Shu asked as he walked over to him and touched his forehead, thinking that he might be sick. Red Eye gently pushed away his hand as he nodded,

"I'm fine."

"Then why're you talking about leaving?"

"I'm just suggesting what would be best for our company, brother."

He said in his usual voice as Shu frowned but before he could say anything, Red Eye put both his hands on his shoulders and said,

"Listen. It's not like I'll be leaving forever. I'll come to visit from time to time."

"How often?"

"Probably every 1 or 2 months?"

"Do you promise?"

Shu asked like a child would as he looked at Red Eye with pleading eyes. Red Eye sighed softly before nodding,

"I promise. You have my word."

20 days later:

At first, Shu had been so sad that he wasn't able to concentrate on the company's work. It was (Y/N) who did most of the things for him and she was the one who called Red Eye every day so that he and Shu would talk.

Shu didn't take the initiative to call himself because he thought that Red Eye might get annoyed and think of him as a baby for missing him so much. But in reality, Red Eye had the same condition as Shu.

As the days passed by, Red Eye immersed himself more and more in the company's work whereas Shu was 30% immersed in work and 70% immersed with (Y/N)~

One year later:

Red Eye was now back in the country to attend his brother's wedding. As he watched the priest declare the albino and the (h/c) haired girl husband and wife, and Shu kiss (Y/N) on the aisle, he couldn't help but feel sad and heartbroken while clapping.

'If only I'd approached (Y/N) first...maybe it could've been me...instead of Shu...and-'

His trail of thoughts were interrupted when a bouquet of flowers suddenly landed in his hands.

"Huh?"

He blinked in confusion as he saw (Y/N) and Shu laugh and run upto him while the ladies in the crowd were grumbling and lamenting for not being able to catch the bride's bouquet.

"Congratulations, Red! You're gonna be the next one to be married!"

The (e/c) eyed bride cheered happily as she smiled which made him smile a little as he responded,

"Oh...I see. That's nice."

Two years later:

He was back in Japan again. This time he wasn't alone. Red Eye had been engaged to a beautiful American girl who had a kind and gentle character like (Y/N).

But that wasn't the reason why he'd come back. Both him and his fiancee sat outside the operation theatre of a hospital as Red Eye was holding his brother's hand and comforting him while (Y/N) was inside the operation theatre, giving birth to her and Shu's child.

After about 30 minutes, the nurse came out, smiling as she gave the trio the good news,

"Congratulations! It's a boy and a girl! You've got twins!"

Shu couldn't have been more happier at this instant. He immediately ran inside, to his wife while Red Eye and his fiancee followed close behind.

And this time...Red Eye was no longer upset about not being able to pursue (Y/N). He had found his happiness and he was genuinely happy for his brother's.

"We're also gonna have a family someday like them, right?"

His fiancee asked as she smiled while they watched Shu and (Y/N) rejoice over getting two more members in their little family.

"Indeed."

Not many dialogues in this story, right? Maybe because...I thought dialogues won't fit this story well. 😅

This was also more of a brotherly type of story than of the usual Shu x (Y/N). But I think it came out good. Sometimes, a little change is nice. (⁠✿⁠^⁠‿⁠^⁠)

Btw, who would you choose between Shu and Red Eye if both of them had approached you at the same time? • 3 •

I know...I made you wait too long. I'm sorry. I'm sorry if you didn't like it or if this one shot was cringe. I'm also sorry for my terrible grammar. 😞
