Thanks for requesting. I'm not gonna lie, I was honestly getting so uncomfortable while writing this...

Trigger Warning: This chapter will have mention of smoking and cigarettes. If you're uncomfortable then please skip this chapter.

Short Note: All the characters in this chapter are aged up and ARE legal adults, i.e., the boys are 21 years old and the reader is going to be 20 (any age above 18 is suitable).

None of the characters in the story and NEITHER THE AUTHOR promote or support smoking. 🚭

Alright now, I think I can begin the chapter.

Shu's office:

The red eyed albino stretched his arms and sighed heavily as he'd finally finished his paperwork for the day. He decided to take a break as he took out his phone from his pocket and decided to surf the internet for a while.

Opening YouTube, he found his favourite music video and clicked on it. Unfortunately, ads played before the video.

In the first ad, the albino saw the video of 'Say No To Smoking'. He saw how youngsters of today were smoking and doing cigarettes.

'These days, I'm surely seeing a lot of ads relating with smoking and cigarettes. I know this habit is wrong but these youngsters seem so cool when they do it. Hmm, alright then, today after finishing work, I'll also try doing it. I'll just TRY it.'

He thought to himself as he clicked the 'Skip Ads' button without seeing the rest of the video. Unfortunately, he didn't see the part where the video showed the bad health effects and awareness about the habit.

After finishing the work for the day:
Shu's house:
In the living room:

The red eyed albino was finally home after a tired day of teaching bladers and doing the work of the Bulls. On his way home, he'd managed to buy a small pack of cigarettes from a small shop.

Right now, he was sitting on the couch with the packet in his hand, contemplating whether he should really try it or not. He ended up on deciding to try just one.

He took out a lighter and lit one of them as he reluctantly put it in his mouth. As soon as the cigarette made contact with his taste buds, he felt a burst of dopamine in his head as he closed his eyes and relaxed himself, smoking on the couch.

'I didn't know it feels this good to do. I guess this is why people call this an 'addiction'.'

The albino thought as his mouth and surroundings were slowly filling up with the smoke.

Timeskip:

After that day, Shu smoked one cigarette atleast once a week. As time passed by, it gradually increased to twice a week, then once every day, then twice every day.

His students and friends were now starting to get suspicious as they often found a weird smell lingering around him. He often put down the subject by saying that it must either be his cologne or sweat after practice.

But how long could he hide the truth from his own friends?

One day Valt, Rantaro, Wakiya and (Y/N) who were his friends since Beigoma, decided to find out about this mysterious 'smell'.

They invited Shu to a casual hangout and he agreed without suspecting anything. After hours of talking and enjoying, when it was finally time to leave, they all turned their ways as Shu too, took the route to his home.

Unbeknownst to him, the group of four friends didn't actually go home, they secretly followed him all the way to his home instead.

As the albino reached the porch of his house, he took out a lighter and another cigarette from his pocket. He was just about to light it when suddenly,

"SO THIS IS WHAT THE WEIRD SMELL WAS ABOUT!!!"

Two voices screamed together in unison as the blader was startled and nearly dropped the lighter and the cigarette in his hands.

He quickly turned around, only to see his four friends coming up to him with looks of disappointments on their faces. The (h/c) haired girl seeemed the most disappointed.

"What...are you guys doing here..?!"

"First you tell us what you're doing dude!"

Rantaro said as he crossed his arms and his best friend, went upto the albino with a mixed expression on his face.

"Shu...you know this is bad, right? Why do you this?"

"I bet you do it atleast once in a day to get its lingering smell all over yourself."

Wakiya scoffed as he and (Y/N) also stepped towards Shu and the albino quickly defended himself,

"I-It's not like that! I-I just do it once i-in a while to r-relieve stress."

But the stammering in his speech was enough to reveal that he was lying. After all, he never stammered in saying anything.

"That's a lie Shu. We all know you don't do it 'once in a while'."

(Y/N) said as Valt joined in,

"You're aware of the bad effects of smoking, right Shu? If you don't stop doing it, you'll damage your lungs and die an early death."

For this once, it seemed like Shu's typical smart personality has entered him. But instead of listening to him and apologising for his actions, the red eyed albino actually got mad as his hair covered his eyes and he lashed out,

"I don't need you to give me speech on what is wrong and what is right! I know what I'm doing, alright?! You don't need to interfere with what I do in my life!"

And with that he pushed Valt and Honcho aside as he angrily strode away, leaving all of them shocked.

"Even though my family owns a big business, I'm not into smoking and stuff like that. I think I'm more well behaved than Shu is."

Goldilocks remarked as Honcho restrained himself from smacking him in the head with his big fan as he said,

"Dude, that's the last thing we want to hear right now."

"I think maybe we should go after him and-"

"No, Valt. If all of you go again, he'll most likely push you away again. But if I go alone then perhaps....I can do something."

The (h/c) haired girl volunteered as the three boys looked at her with unsure expressions.

"But what if he does the same wi-"

"He won't. I'm sure of it."

(Y/N) cut off Wakiya in the middle of the sentence as Valt said,

"But still, be careful. He can be really reckless when he's angry."

"Don't worry Valt. I will be."

She said and turned around, sprinting away to the direction Shu just went. After she was out of sight, Honcho asked,

"So what do we do now?"

"We'll follow her secretly, in case anything goes wrong."

The blunette said as he jogged in the direction, two of his friends went in as Wakiya and Rantaro looked at each other before catching up behind him as well.

With Shu:

The red eyed albino had come to a park and sat down on one of the benches. He sighed to himself and rubbed his temples as he muttered,

"Why did they have to see me like this? Why couldn't they just...mind their own businesses...?"

"Because we're your friends Shu and we care about you."

A familiar feminine voice said as the albino quickly looked into the direction it came from and was surprised to see his female friend standing there.

"Are you here to lecture me like Valt again?"

The (e/c) eyed girl shook her head as she sat down beside him and said,

"I don't think that I need to lecture you. You're capable enough to make decisions for yourself Shu. I'm just...here to tell you something."

"And what would that be?"

"Umm...you see, I came along with Valt, Rantaro and Wakiya because I wanted to confess my feelings to you."

She said quietly as she stared down at her lap and fiddled with her fingers while the albino just stared at her with surprised eyes.

His long time crush was confessing her feelings to him so he should be happy, right? But instead he asked,

"You really want to do it now? After seeing how I treated all of you? And after knowing that I've become a smoker?"

"Is there a problem if I do it right now? You don't want me to confess to you then, right?"

(Y/N) retorted as she crossed her arms and made a face, pretending to be hurt by his words.

"W-What? No! No! I didn't mean it like that! Why wouldn't I want my crush to confess to me?"

Shu said quickly but covered his mouth when he realised he'd actually said out the words 'my crush' out loud. (Y/N) too, seemed to have picked up on those two words as she repeated,

"My crush? I'm your crush?"

"Y-yes, you have been for a very long time now."

Shu said with a red blush across his face as a smile formed on the girl's face and she moved closer to him, making him back away from her.

"Then...our feelings are mutual, aren't they?"

"I-I guess so."

"I love you then, Shu."

She whispered loud enough only for him to hear as the albino's eyes widened slightly before he smiled and said the words back,

"I love you too, (Y/N)."

A) The ending as requested by kurenaishu15:

After the confession, (Y/N) and Shu became a couple. A few weeks after that, (Y/N) told Shu that she too wants to try smoking.

The albino agreed to her wish without a second thought and eventually the girl also developed an addiction to the habit. They ended up becoming a smoker couple.

But the two of them were always careful enough to not smoke in front of their friends as they didn't want to get into any arguments again.

B) The ending as requested by the author chan:

After the confession, (Y/N) kissed the boy's cheek and said,

"But Shu."

"Hmm?"

"I know leaving an addiction can be hard but if you don't leave smoking, you'll die early. And I don't want that to happen to my boyfriend. I'm sure you also don't want to leave me, your friends and Spryzen behind as well, right?"

She said which made Shu think about the bigger picture and the consequences of this bad habit. He closed his eyes, picturing everything she'd just said.

A few minutes later, he opened his eyes again and looked at her as he said apologetically,

"You're right. I don't want any of that to happen. I'm sorry for my behaviour earlier. I promise that I will get rid of this addiction and be like I used to be."

Hearing that, (Y/N) let out a heavy sigh of relief. She'd finally managed to get him to come back on the right path.

Just then, Valt, Rantaro and Wakiya also came out of their hiding spots as the albino and the girl were surprised to see them there.

"Were you eavesdropping our conversation?"

The girl asked as the three of them sweatdropped and smiled awkwardly before Valt said,

"Kinda...but.. we're glad you got Shu to listen."

At that, the red eyed albino stood up as he lowered his head and apologised to them,

"I'm sorry for lashing out on you guys when all of you were just trying to help me. I promise I'll not repeat this mistake again and will do everything to get rid of my bad habit."

"Chill out dude, we already forga-"

"Just your sorry isn't enough."

Wakiya said as he crossed his arms and all of them looked at him as went up to Shu and put an arm around his shoulder.

Wakiya: "For truly making it up to us, you gotta treat us with your special spaghetti carbonara."

Valt: "Oh yeah! I don't know how long it's been since I last had it!"

Rantaro: "Yeah dude! That's a great idea! I'm coming with you too!"

(Y/N): "I'd like to have your tasty spaghetti too Shu!"

Shu: "Alright guys. As you wish."

He smiled as they all made their way back to his apartment for the treat. On the way back, Shu was thinking,

'I'm truly lucky to be blessed by friends like them. And with (Y/N) by my side, I'm sure I'll never get down on the path of wrong and bad habits again.'

A few months later:

It was hard but Shu had finally managed to do it. With the constant strictness of (Y/N) and his strong determination, he'd finally gotten rid of his habit of smoking.

He was finally back to his normal self. (Y/N) and him were now like any other happy couple and all of Shu's friends, especially Valt, Rantaro and Wakiya were happy for him.
