Colby smiled brightly, the feeling of happiness overtaking him as he re-read the text messages. Colby thought he was falling in love, the feeling of butterflies dancing through his stomach made his mind think that he found the right person. He met this so-called lover at the bar, the man's charming demeanor stole Colby's heart instantly with one glance. He was glamorous. The man had beautiful platinum blonde hair, dark green eyes that Colby felt connected with, a dark sense of style as he wore chains and baggy black jeans with a muscle tee to top his outfit off, and lips of a goddess.
Colby was drunk that night, so his usual drunk and cocky self decided to go talk to the stunning god-like male. Colby was wearing his usual black muscle tank top, baggy sweats with a grunge esk, a chain, multiple rings, and some dark black boots. Both males seemed to have the same sense of style, and both were quite attractive. Colby talked gently to the man, Jerrad, was his name, had an exquisite type of voice, a deep but gentle voice. It'd be a lie if Colby said he wasn't turned on by it.
Later on that night they hung out and exchanged numbers, both of them seeming to have a good connection as they enjoyed certain things together. To Colby's surprise, Jerrad was a YouTuber as well, just not as famous as Colby was. Colby didn't mind about fame, since it would have been worse if he was equally or more famous as it caused privacy problems. So, Colby looked on the bright side, ignoring the little red flags that Jerrad had.
As soon as Colby got home, he was a flushed mess. His hair was messy from previous experiences, such as making out with Jerrad, whom he had just met that night. It got heated quickly, Jerrad pinning Colby against the wall at the bar made him super flustered. Colby was shocked, not expecting such actions from the blonde.
So, now, Colby's here. Lying in bed, he thought carefully about this mysterious blonde. He was beautiful, the type of beauty Colby could never get over. He was just perfect, his personality was dazzling and Colby was struck by his charming voice as well. Colby sighed, rolling onto his side and looking at the wall.
There was a connection... right?
Colby smiled, thinking this was going to be where he found the love of his life. Soon enough, Colby's eyes closed gently as he drifted off into a peaceful slumber...

To say the least, this wasn't what Colby was expecting. The night that Colby met Jerrad, he was friendly, seductive, soft, kind, caring, flirtatious, and exciting. But now, Jerrad was abusive, verbally and mentally, angry, ignorant, fake, careless, and overly possessive. For example, He wouldn't allow Colby to go hang out with their new roommate, Jake, because he said that he didn't know him well enough. It was tough to even hang out with Sam, even though he lived with him! It was impossible for Colby to greet his friends the slightest before his boyfriend got protective of him. Correction, possessive.
The second night they started dating things moved too fast. They were at Jerrad's house, watching a movie as they cuddled comfortably. Until Colby pecked Jerrad on the lips. Jerrad apparently thought that was a sign to start making out with him and do... other things. Fortunately, it wasn't more than blowjobs and handjobs, but Colby was extremely uncomfortable since they only knew each other for a few weeks.
After a week of dating, Colby started getting verbally abused. At first, Colby just suspected it was a joke. Jerrad would say things with a laugh at first, saying something when Colby messed up on anything. For example, He would say 'God, you're so useless, Colby' with a small chuckle at the end. Or, he would say 'How can you even look at yourself? I mean, c'mon, babe! You should wear something more revealing. Jerrad would say everything with a smile or a chuckle, making it seem like it was a joke or it was just an opinion that didn't matter.
Of course, Colby felt horrible about himself after a while. Colby felt like he was a whole other person. But, Colby was also slightly blind in this situation. He just thought that Jerrad was right, thinking that Jerrad was better than him. Jerrad always complained to Colby, demanding him to make a sandwich or clean the dishes.
Colby thought this relationship couldn't get worse. It was already bad enough, thinking about the past relations he's had with others was definitely better than this.
Everything got worse.
On a Saturday, Colby was forced to cancel plans because of Jerrad. Jerrad bickered with him and begged him to come over, saying he wanted to have a nice chat and hang out. Colby being innocent, thought nothing of it once he walked into the house. Colby found it odd how Jerrad didn't greet him at the door that day, wondering why he didn't even say where he was. So, Colby went upstairs, finding Jerrad in his room as he held snacks. Jerrad greeted Colby, both of them relaxing and cuddling as they watched a movie together.
Then, Colby got a call from Jake. Jerrad was suspicious, grabbing Colby's phone and answering the call. Jerrad shouted at Jake, making Colby shout at him.
That's when everything went to hell.
Jerrad's temper got ahead of him, his actions losing control as he slapped Colby. Colby fell back onto the ground, wincing as he grasped his cheek with his eyes wide. Colby had tears in his eyes as Jerrad crouched down and grabbed his collar.
"You better not tell anyone about this, Colby! Not even your family or roommates! Or else I'll tell your fanbase things they don't want to hear... okay? Don't say shit and get out!"
Colby left that house in a hurry that day, crying in his car for hours until he went home acting like nothing happened. He couldn't tell anyone, not wanting to bring down the channel. So, Colby kept quiet, everyone asking him questions because of the call. Colby shut them down, heading to his room and cowering under his blankets.
What was he gonna do?..

I sighed, ruffling my hair in the mirror as I had to make sure I looked good for my boyfriend, Jerrad. My appearance mattered, as I was told. My boyfriend didn't want to be embarrassed, right? He didn't want to be seen with such a worthless piece of shit in public. He told me, if I didn't wear anything revealing or slutty, he would leave me. I couldn't lose him, he was my everything. So, I picked out a light purple crop top and a lavender skirt. Hopefully, Jerrad would approve.
I grabbed my keys and rushed out the door, ignoring my roommate's pleas to tell them what was going on. To be honest, I'm miserable. My boyfriend is toxic, to say the least. He's gotten abusive, verbally, mentally, and physically. He's always making sure I wear something slutty or girly which makes me uncomfortable. Don't get me wrong, the clothes are cute, but I'm not into it. I like sweatpants or cargo pants, comfy hoodies, and baggy tees.
Once I arrived at Jerrad's house, my heart started to race as I felt sweat drip down my forehead. I gulped, making my way toward his door as my fist stayed in front of the door, my mind having an endless battle as I re-think my choices.
Should I knock?
Should I leave?.. Nah, I can't.
Should I ring the doorbell?.. Sure.
Sighing, I rang the doorbell as I tried to keep my posture petite and perfect, just how he liked it. I heard rummaging inside the house, hearing footsteps come closer to the door. The door flung open, my eyes looking at a frustrated Jerrad.
Oh, boy...
"You're late." He stated, running a hand through his hair as his white tee lifted up, showing his abs. I gulped, looking up at the taller male with a nervous smile. "Proper people are never late, Colby." He said, lifting my chin roughly as he looked into my eyes with fake love. I gulped, a tinge of fear caressing my body as my body shuddered against his touch.
"I-I'm sorry, Jerrad... I-I didn't mean to be late-"
A stinging sensation met my cheek, my head being flung in the opposite direction. "Don't talk back!" He said sternly, his voice deep and dark which scared me. I whimpered, nodding my head as he grabbed my chin roughly once again, kissing my lips tenderly. He broke the kiss, letting go of my chin and walking inside. "Come on,"

I walked out of the house quietly, not wanting to wake Jerrad. Slowly, I shut the front door, making my way to my car and jumping in. I knew that I had to get home, not wanting the other roommates to worry about me. I blasted the music, 'Better Off (Dying) by Lil Peep' coming onto the radio. I smiled, remembering screaming the lyrics with Sam in his car. I miss hanging out with friends, loneliness and anxiety consuming me slowly.
Soon enough, after getting lost through the song, I arrived home. The lights were off, not surprising. It was two A.M after all. Slowly, I opened the front door, peeking my head in to make sure there weren't any roommates waiting for me. I sighed in relief, seeing as the coast was clear. I shut the door carefully, kicking off my shoes as I made my way to the kitchen.
Suddenly, a figure appeared in front of me.
"Jake?.. What are you doing up?" I asked quietly, whisper-shouting as I knew I got caught. Jake's gaze was sympathetic, which I didn't understand. I looked down, noticing I was still in the same outfit. I sighed, looking back up at Jake with a nervous gaze. "Look... I'm just really into-"
Jake's body collided with mine as he wrapped his arms around me. I gasped at the contact, fearing that it was Jerrad as mental images flashed in my head. I gulped, Jake holding me tighter. Slowly, I let out a huff, carefully laying my head on his shoulder comfortably. "Why didn't you tell me?.." Jake asked softly, my brows furrowing as I didn't understand.
"What?.."
Jake released me from the hug, his hand resting lightly on my shoulder as he looked into my eyes. I've never noticed how beautiful his eyes were. "Colby... are you... being abused?" Jake asked softly. My eyes widened, fear filling me as I remembered everything. The verbal words that destroyed me, how uncomfortable I was during intimate moments, how he physically kicked and slapped me multiple times, how I was forced to dress like a slut, how I was forced to be perfect.
"N-No?.. What makes you s-say that?" I asked, chuckling nervously as I looked around the empty room in a panic. Jake's gaze softened, his slim fingers grasping my chin. My eyes followed, Jake lifting my chin so I could look into his eyes perfectly.
"You can't let him hurt you like that, Colbs. You need to break up with him..." He said, his voice stern and soft. For him being the youngest, it was surprising how protective he was.
"I-I know... it's just-"
"I'll take care of it, Colby. I just need you to cut off your relations with him, okay?.." Jake asked softly. My head nodded in understanding, feeling his arms wrap around my waist. Suddenly, lips were pressed against mine. My eyes widened in shock, a tingly feeling coursing through my body as I felt his grip tighten on me. My eyes closed slowly, sinking into the kiss as I wrapped my arms around his neck. He broke the kiss, looking deep into my eyes and speaking with passion and protectiveness.
"I won't let him hurt you again, baby."
