Third person's pov:
"Who are you? And what are you doing in my city?"
Ishika cursed under her breath, the universe definitely hated her. She didn't dare turn around silently thinking that it might be a trick of her mind and no one was really there. "Hello miss I am talking to you!" the voice repeated. It was definitely a man, she guessed by the heavy voice. She did not want to be alone with a man who could possibly be a serial killer and could cut her open in seconds, so, she decided to be stupid. She began walking without looking back and indulging with the unknown person.
But before she could cover a significant distance, her steps halted. That man spoke modern hindi, she knew the language since her parents always talked to her in that. She furrowed her eyebrows and thought if her ears were deceiving her. "No your ears are completely fine, I am speaking hindi" her eyes widen at his statement how did he know what she was thinking about? Did she speak it out loud?
She cautiously turned around, her gaze filled with uncertainty and suspicion. When she fully turned the sight in front of her made her frown disappear and her lips parted slightly. The man in front of her was the epitome of handsomeness. Even in the darkness of night he was somehow glowing. His face held a large gummy smile, brightening up his aura even more. He was simply......ethereal.
"Who are you? Why are you standing there smiling like a creep? How do you know hindi?" Ishika fired questions at him, her flight instinct suddenly vanished. The man in front of her chuckled, his sweet voice making her feel comfortable in his presence, in a stranger's presence. "You already know me, think a little and you will get the answer" he said, his answer brought a frown to her face "What do you mean I know you? I don't" she firmly said.
He chuckled one more and walked closer to her, surprisingly Ishika didn't move away. Her subconscious somehow knew that this man was not a threat. "Come on, sakhi! You can't guess? Well I am the one whom you wanted to meet when you time traveled, does that ring a bell?" He wiggled his eyebrows and snickered at her expression.
Ishika couldn't believe her ears, her eyes were as wide as they could be and her mouth was hanging to the floor. 'What the f*ck?! How does he know about the time travel?! What does he mean by I came here to see him? Wait....what?! no, no, no that isn't possible!' she mentally screamed. "No! I won't believe you! Tell me who you are right this moment!" she screamed which made shush her "Shhhh! We don't want the whole Dwarka to wake up, do we?" he grinned and then started circling her. "Why do you think I am lying priya behen? I am Krishna! The one you time traveled for.....and now are potentially stuck here with me" he cheered. His weird behaviour was making Ishika lose her mind "You can't be Krishna! That's just a fictional character!" she huffed, standing her ground.
"And why do you think so?" he innocently questioned making her frown more firm "Well for starters, Krishna is supposed to be 'God'" She quoted in the air "And that's not possible! There is no such thing as God!" She exclaimed with hand gestures "And?" The man asked "What "AnD" that's it! that's the biggest reason" she croseed her arms with her nose held high. "But behen, how do you know that God isn't real?" "Because he isn't that's it" she was as quick as light with that answer.
The man chuckled again "But I am God, priye behen" he claimed with his arms open. "No you aren't!" she exclaimed childishly, not ready to give up. "Then how do you explain the language I speak in? This is a modern language, in this era people speak sanskrit not not hindi" he kept a valid argument in front of her which shut her up. "Well-well maybe....you are a time traveller too! You also came here to meet "Krishna" and you are stuck here, just like me!" She blabbered, she knew mentally that what she was saying wasn't right and the chances of that happening were less than point five percent but she still said that.
This time the man laughed hard, surprising Ishika since the whole time he was either chuckling aur laughing softly. "I didn't say anything funny" she mumbled knowing that she certainly did. The man shook his head and walked back to his original place. "Tell me, what should I do to prove that I am God" He proclaimed "You doing anything won't change my mind" she clarified immediately. "Hmm, we will see about that my lady, now tell me what should I do?"
Ishika was getting really sceptical about this man now but she thought that maybe she should check. "Fine then, give me the power to speak and understand sanskrit so that I don't have any problem adjusting here" she demanded, her wish made him smile and he nodded "Sure your wish has been granted" Ishika frowned and decided to check if he was saying the truth or not. She decided to speak up to test his words "Well if I am speaking-" she stopped, she couldn't believe it, she wasn't speaking hindi anymore, it was sanskrit and she could understand herself very well.
She pointed a finger at him and said "You! You speak something" "As you say priye behen" she couldn't believe it, she could understand him. She stared at him wide eyed and then ran close to him "What are you?! How did you do this? Are you a magician?!" He laughed yet again and said "I told you! I am God" she crossed her arms and said "No I don't believe you, you definitely are something.....but not God!"
He sighed and thought for a while as he stared at her face "Well how about I prove it to you......you can stay with me at my palace. I am offering it you nicely so you should consider it since you don't have any other place to stay at. And I am the best chance you have at staying in a safe place." He offered generously. Ishika thought about it for a moment, he was right she thought, this was her best shot at getting a place to live in- that is if she didn't want to spend her nights in the forest.
"You don't need to think so much, I suggest you come with me. By the way,I am the King of this nagri, Dwarka, is this not enough evidence that I am Krishna?" He says. Ishika exhaled and nodded hesitantly "Fine......I'll come with you....and no it is not, you might be Krishna or the King of Dwarka, that's acceptable but you being a God is really not. I am very doubtful that it is true. You might be some kind of magician or something like that....but making me agree that you are God is going to be hard" she said in a calmer tone than before.
Krishna smiled giddily and nodded "One step at a time! I will make you believe in me" he grinned and started skipping away "Follow me if you don't want to get lost~" he sang as he skipped. Ishika looked at him with a confused expression and followed behind. 'He is.....I don't even have words' she thought to herself. After a while rhey finally reached the royal palace of Dwarka. Ishika stared at it with an awe filled eyes, her face reflected pure admiration for the the architecture.
"Let's go inside and get some rest, tomorrow I'll introduce you to everyone" Krishna said, his words made her turn to him with a look which held slight fear "Don't worry, they already know about your presence. You just have to meet them" she frowned when he said they already know she is there "How did you people find out that I am here? Did you see me somewhere in the daytime?" she asked, Krishna turned to her and smiled "I told you~~~I am God! More reasons to finally accept it" Ishika huffed and faced away, she was not going to give in, not yet atleast.
They entered the palace and even in the middle of the night there were maids and guards all over the place. Ishika looked around curiously, she had to admit that this era was definitely cool. She saw Krishna calling a maid and he said "Take her to her chambers and give her some comfortable clothes" he then turned to her "We shall meet tomorrow morning Ishika, good night" and then he left, leaving Ishika with the maid who ushered her away.
This was definitely going to be pretty interesting, that's for sure, she thought as she entered her designated room.
Author's note:
Hey guys! I hope you liked this chapter! I feel that Krishna and Ishika's meeting could have been better written but this is satisfactory as well. Do tell me your thoughts about it. And please do comment! It keeps me motivated to write otherwise I get demotivated and then go through a writer's block.
