Third Person's pov:

It was one of those ordinary and somewhat mudane days in the life of Ishika Yadav. She had a day off from her university......it can not really be considered as a day off since it was just a Sunday. And on Sundays we get holidays. Yay.

Well anyways back to Ishika, it was nine o'clock and she had nothing to do. Her shift at her part time job was about to start in half an hour and she was ready to go. She had gotten ready a while back since she forgot her shift was supposed to be later. Since then she has just been.....sitting. Yes, she has just been sitting and staring at clock, not even using her mobile phone to entertain herself. She is weird but don't target her okay, she is a pookie.

Abruptly, the familiar beats of......Chikni chameli? fills the atmosphere making Ishika turn to her phone and check the caller's id. It was Nagare Tokita her boss. She picks up the call and greets him. "Hey boss what's up? I checked my schedule and after looking at the exact time I still have twenty-three minutes left till my shift starts" she rambles, Nagare lets her as he knows that it is one of her stupid but amusing habits. "I know Ishika, but I wanted to ask you for a favour. Can you come to the café right now? Actually I need to leave for a while since some stuff needs restocking and I need to buy-" "Of course boss I'll be there in five" Ishika cuts him off and quickly agrees. She ends the call, grabs her bag and starts making her way towards the café.

After walking for a few minutes she finally reaches her destination. The place she works in was a basement café. People wouldn't even be able find it if there wasn't a small sign board with it's name and an arrow pointing towards the staircase which takes you down. "Funiculi Funicula" read the sign board. The name of the café was definitely not common or something people could think of but it was one of the things that attracted customers to their café apart from the other things.

She went down the staires and saw only two of the regulars were sitting there. This made her ease up a bit. She didn't like entering the place when the place is packed. She would be okay if she was already in there and then the place started crowding. Another weird habit of hers.

The café wasn't very big, infact it wasn't big at all. It only took twelve people to fill the place. There were no windows, the lightning was provided just by six shaded lamps hanging from the ceiling and a single wall lamp near the entrance. There were three antique wall clocks which were the only source to find out if it was day or night when you were inside the café.

CLANG-DONG

The doorbell chimed as she entered and walked towards the counter, greeting her co-worker Kazu Tokita, a laid back and carefree girl who never really had any expression on her face other than a look of deadpan and fun fact, she was the cousin of her boss. She liked the girl and her vibe so she had fun working with her. She went towards the back room and came out after quickly changing into her work outfit.

"Hey Kazu, where is Kei? Did she go with Nagare too?" Ishika casually questions as she starts wiping some washed glasses to get rid of the water droplets and started placing them on the shelf. "No she actually went back home to get her medications she forgot to bring them" Kazu said while grinding the coffee beans into powder.

Kei Tokita, the lovely and sweet, happy go lucky wife of Nagare. She too helped around the café most of the time. The poor woman had a weak heart since she was born so she had to take medicines timely to keep her health in check. Even after such a disease she was always smiling and making others laugh. She was the "vibe creator" in the café, always so cheerful and friendly.

One of their daily customers, Hirai greeted her and sat down on the stool
next to the counter. She slouched over the table and ordered black coffee and a piece of cookie dough cake. "Coming right up" chimed Ishika as she started to prepare the order.

Hirai owned a nearby nightclub. It wasn't like one of those which had 18+ stuff except alcohol. It was pretty normal and sweet. Ishika liked to visit the place once in a while with her friends. Hirai sighed loudly and slumped more onto the table "I am getting bored! Why isn't anyone coming here to time travel? It's been so long since a time travelling customer visited" she complained with a pout on her lips which were painted cherry red.

Kazu bonked her head lightly with a magazine "Sit up straight Hirai" sang Ishika. Hirai grumbled and sat up cupping her chin a hand while with the other one, she tapped the table using her nails. "You know the rules Hirai, Whatever you do in the past it won't change the present" Kazu begin speaking in her usual monotonous voice "and you must return before the coffee gets cold. Who would want to go to the past for just two or three minutes and even if they do go then they can't change anything" "Yeah she is right, sometimes I think the people who do take the risk tell the others not to try it because it's a waste of time" Ishika shrugged and sat down behind the counter after placing Hirai's order in front of her. Hirai thanked her dug in.

"But still you know, I really wanna what will happen if someone doesn't return before the coffee gets cold" she said while chewing. Both Ishika and Kazu stare at her disbelief "Hirai you don't know? Huh, and to say that you are a regular" scoffed Kazu with disbelief evident in her tone "They'll be lost in that timeline forever" Ishika answers "And boss told me there have been some cases of this in the past" Hirai looked at her with raised eyebrows "And how far back in time can you go?" Kazu and Ishika shrug simultaneously "That is actually a good question no one thought about it before"

CLANG-DONG

Before Hirai could say anything else, the doorbell chimes making everyone turn around just to see Kei coming in with a big smile on her face. She held a packet medicine in one hand and a bottle of what seemed like mock tail in another. "Drink anyone?" she asks as she gets behind the counter "Yeah sure I would have one" Kazu says "Me too" Ishika and Hirai chirp making Kei grin and pour the drink in four glasses.

She gives the three their glasses and joins them where they were sitting. "So what were you girls talking about?" she asks while relishing the fruity drink. "We were talking about how far back in time we can go while time travelling, do you have any idea Kei?" Ishika says while sipping her own drink.

Kei thinks for a minute "Hmm now that you think about it even I don't know, and from what I have seen while I have been here is that most people who time travel only go back six or seven years atmost and that is rare too" she informs them.

"Hey guys? Should we test it out?" Ishika suddenly gives them the idea which made all of them turn to her and blink owlishly. She was creeped out by their stares so she raises her hands in defence "Just a suggestion, don't look at me like that" she grimaced. "Put your hands down girl, I think your idea is brilliant! We should totally do that and we also know almost the accurate time which takes the coffee to get cold so we will be able to return too" Hirai and Kazu nod at Kei's statement.

"But the question arises that who will be doing the travelling" Ishika says while she picks the glasses and puts them in the sink so that she will wash them later. When she turns around all of them are looking directly at her while their index fingers are pointing at her too. It was her turn to blink at them, she then points herself and says "Me?" all of them nod with grins adorning their faces.

Ishika nods with them for a moment and then "WHY IS IT THAT YOU PEOPLE ALWAYS USE ME AS AN EXPERIMENT?! I AM NOT DOING IT! NO NO NO I WON'T BE YOUR LAB RAT FOR THIS ONE" she exclaims, her hands flapping around and her voice almost resonating a duck.

"Come on Ishika! Do it pleaseeeeee" "Yeah Ishika pleaseeeeee" "pleaseeee" all of them look at her with big puppy eyes which makes her rub her forehead and sigh "You are going to treat me with my favourite food after this" she orders them. The three girls grin knowing that they were successful, they give each other high-fives and giggle "Deal!" Kei chuckles "We'll do it tomorrow okay?" "Okay" Ishika nods.

First chapter! I think I did well while writing it, I had fun. I also eliminated and changed a few rules of time travelling since they fit in the story and made it such that it is interesting and fun. Comment your favourite part so that i get to know too!
