"Hey Hanna," Jack's voice greeted from the other end of the line.

"Hey Jack," Hannalynn replied as she laid across her bed with her phone up to her ear. "What's up?"

"I wanted to ask you something," Jack began. "So you know how Finn and Ayla are apparently a thing now?"

"Yeah?"

"Well, I was wondering if you wanted to go on a double date with them," Jack said. "Finn suggested it, actually."

"Finn did?" Hannalynn asked.

"Yeah," Jack said with a slight laugh. "They want to go to that nice French restaurant downtown that's also right next to an arcade on Friday night. Want to go?"

"Sure, sounds fun," Hannalynn answered with a smile.

"Okay, cool, I'll let them know," Jack replied. "See you then."

"See you."

REAL LIFE

"Hey Hanna," Jack greeted with a smile as Hannalynn opened her front door Friday evening.

"Hey," she smiled back before shutting the door behind her. They got inside Mrs. Anderson's car after Hannalynn greeted her, and about 20 minutes later arrived at the restaurant. They thanked her for the ride and walked inside.

"Do you see Finn?" Hannalynn asked once they were inside. "Or Ayla?"

"Uh, yeah, over there," Jack pointed across the restaurant to where Finn and Ayla were sitting and laughing. "Let's go." Jack took her hand with a soft smile before leading her towards their friends.

"Oh, hey!" Ayla grinned once she saw them. "We were wondering when you'd two get here."

"Yeah, sorry, I was running a little late to pick her up," Jack admitted.

"Aww, you picked her up?" Ayla said before turning around slapping Finn's arm. "Why didn't you pick me up?"

"Ah!" Finn rubbed his arm. "You suggested we meet here!"

"Oh, right, sorry," Ayla laughed. "So, you guys ready to order?" They all nodded and picked up their menus, searching for what to order. They mostly ate in an awkward silence, the atmosphere between the four teens feeling almost tense.

"I guess we're all done here," Jack said once he noticed everyone had finished eating. "Off to the arcade?"

"Yeah, let's go," Finn nodded. They each split the bill before leaving the restaurant and walking down the street towards the arcade, Jack's hand in Hannalynn's. Finn noticed and decided to take Ayla's hand, hoping Hannalynn would see.

"Let's go play skee-ball!" Ayla suggested as she dragged Finn over to the machines. Hannalynn stood against a wall and watched the two play the game all competitively to see who would win; and for a reason she couldn't explain, Hannalynn felt odd seeing the two together.

"Hanna? You good?" Jack asked, snapping her out of her daze.

"Huh? Oh, yeah, no, I'm fine," she smiled. "Want to race each other in those driving games?"

"You're on," Jack smirked before racing her to the game, which he ended up winning. Hannalynn would just roll her eyes playfully when he bragged about how he beat her.

After about an hour, the two couples stood outside and waited to be picked up to go home. Ayla left first, and then Jack's mom showed up.

"You sure we can't take you home? It's on the way," Jack asked.

"It's fine, my brother will be picking me up soon, but thanks," Hannalynn smiled.

"Okay. See you soon," Jack hugged her and planted a kiss on her cheek before getting in the car and driving away. Hannalynn stood next to Finn in a peaceful silence as they watched the people of the town walking through.

"You come downtown often?" Finn asked.

"Not really," Hannalynn admitted. "Do you?"

"Pretty often, I know the city pretty well," Finn replied before turning around and giving her a small bow and holding out his hand. "I could give you a tour as a city boy, Rogers."

Hannalynn laughed and took his hand. "Guess that makes me your city girl, huh Wolfhard?"

Finn smiled. "I guess you're my city girl then. Come on." He lead her down the sidewalk and pointed out whatever he felt was interesting to him or possibly to her. The two ended up pausing at one point to see a small group of musicians playing a familiar jazz song on the corner.

"Oh my god, they're playing First Light!" Hannalynn exclaimed with excitement as she dragged Finn closer. She stood and watched them play in awe, the lead trumpet playing the part exactly like how Freddie Hubbard did. Hannalynn was entranced in the sound of their music as if it was just her and the music, meanwhile Finn was watching her and glancing down at her hand, his hand slowly inching closer and wanting to hold hers. But at the last second, he decided against it, and brought his hand back.

Once they were finished, the two complimented them on their work and Hannalynn put some money into the hat they had laid out. "You guys were incredible!" They thanked her before the two walked off and ended up back at the arcade, where Tyler's car had just pulled up.

"I guess that's my cue," Hannalynn sighed before turning around and facing Finn. "Thank you so much for the tour, city boy, I had an amazing time."

Finn couldn't help but smile. "Of course, I'll give you another tour anytime you want, city girl." Hannalynn smiled back and pulled him in for a hug before waving and walking towards her brother's car.

As Tyler's car drove away, Finn couldn't help but wonder if that was the closest he and Hannalynn would ever get. He couldn't help but wonder what might have happened if he had held her hand, or if he told her how he felt before Jack asked her out.

He couldn't help but wonder if maybe, somehow, possibly in the slightest, if Hannalynn felt the same way.
