Seokjin pov
When Seokjin left the coffee shop, he was filled with conflicting emotions. He couldn't believe he'd found "puppy face." For years, he wondered inwardly what happened to her after he graduated. She was a constant but endearing irritant in his life. Kang Mayla was completely unique. She stood out like a sore thumb, not because she was a stunning beauty, but because she was the most unassuming girl on campus.

Flashback: 8 years ago
Kim Seokjin was always aware of his passion for the culinary arts. He studied all types of Asian cuisine at Seoul University, but after graduation, he wanted to study under a renowned chef in Switzerland. Academy of Culinary Arts He chose to pursue a master's degree in business, specializing in European cuisine, with the intention of opening his own restaurants. In his third year, he transferred to one of Switzerland's top hotel schools.
He was fantastic at creating creative and innovative dishes, and he quickly gained instant popularity and the attention of many females who adored the handsome, shy Korean boy.
He enjoyed the atmosphere, and fortunately, no one knew he came from a billionaire family in Seoul. His super-rich parents, as well as all of his Bangtan Elite brothers and friends, were all in the same circles. For their undergraduate studies, they attended the best private schools and universities.
They were disheartened that he had chosen to relocate so far for his studies, but they supported him and promised to pay him additional visits during the ski season. His parents wanted to buy him a very expensive apartment, but he refused. He doesn't want strange people following him around or gold diggers on his tail.
He joined a small fraternity along with two new friends. One from Australia and one from the United States. They shared a three-room dormitory near the city's university. Almost two blocks from his university.
When he signed up for an evening cuisine class one evening, he almost ran over a short student. When she locked her gaze on him, she was clumsy and apologized profusely. It was as if the girl had been transported to another dimension. He was, as always, friendly and helped her up.
She was mesmerized by his presence, which made him extremely uncomfortable as an introvert. He often wonders why fate made some introverts so beautiful or handsome if it knew how nerve-wracking unwanted attention is.
This girl didn't even come close to his 1.79m frame. She appeared to be a 16-year-old, but he knew she had been a student there for some time. He was delighted to meet another of the city's few Asians in Switzerland. Her big, round glasses reminded him of Harry Potter, and her smile was wide, with a cute button nose and full lips. Her hair was boyishly short, and her outfit was nerdy. She was unpretentious, with no make-up on her flawless face or trendy clothes. very unassuming girl. But she had personality.
She was cheerful and upbeat. "Hello... new here?" she inquired.
He simply nodded, "Yes... are you Chinese, Japanese, or Korean?"
She beams brightly. "Swiss-Korean, born and raised in Switzerland Kang Mayla is my name, and you are... "She extended her hand without really focusing on the Asian custom of bowing.
He smiled broadly and extended his hand, taking her small hand in his.
"Third year; Kim Seokjin. Hello there, fellow Korean, Mayla"
She was overjoyed because a very attractive man was speaking to her. The majority of the cute guys either looked her up and down or completely ignored her. Some would even question her sanity for talking to them. She's out of their league. But this guy was completely unique. He was so sweet.
She fell in love with him right away. She couldn't stop talking about this cute boy and would tell her friends about him. They simply took it with a grain of salt. Mayla has crushes on all of the unavailable cuties. She believes this one was unique.
She was head over heels in love with him. She would shower him with the cutest sweet treats she made in baking class for months. In her first year, she was one of the most creative students.
Seokjin was flattered by her attention at first, but it became too much for him, especially when his dorm mates began to tease him about his puppy. She was always near to him. She'd bring him something cute stuff. When she discovered where he lived, she would leave muffins, cupcakes, and other sweet treats she had made at his dorm.
He adored the treats and was astounded by her ingenuity and creativity. His dorm mates adored her because she always made sure they had snacks during study periods and whenever they wanted to snack.
She was a cute, bubbly girl who was unafraid of the mocking and teasing going on around her. Her gaze was fixed on Seokjin. The entire campus acknowledged her as Seokjins' puppy face.
Her friendly demeanor and optimism won her many fans on campus, both among students and lecturers.
She was always at the top of her class, and the professors would give her special access to use the restricted kitchens. She could bake until her heart's content. Her favorite lectures would be rewarded in unexpected ways. Her best friends were the obvious guinea pigs for her creations, but the best she always saved for Seokjin.
She was his cheerleader on game days as well as during his study sessions. She repeatedly asked him to accompany her to events, library study sessions, and malls, or simply sit with him. He would politely decline or reject her offers. His friends thought it was hilarious because she was like the ideal girlfriend.
He was irritated one day when he was called aside by a lecturer and asked if he was dating the freshman. The faculty thought their presumed relationship was too cute. A tall and handsome boy on his trail was a very short, overly excited girl. She was constantly near him.
He even told her to stop waiting on him hand and foot. She offered to wash his clothes for him, but he had to snatch them from her grasp and tell her to stop. Seokjin had no idea how to keep her away from him and didn't want to hurt the sensitive girl. However, the teasing became ceaseless.
When he was in his final year and she was in her second, her feelings for him didn't fade, even after every holiday. She will return, even more, determined to win his love. He liked her, but she wasn't his ideal girl or type.
That year, a stunning Chinese-Korean girl transferred to their campus. She was gorgeous, and when she caught sight of the handsome Korean guy, she pursued Seokjin. Like little Mayla, she made sure she was everywhere. It wasn't long before she heard that Seokjin was dating the nerdy girl who always dresses up in hoodies, silly jersey sweaters, and plain shirts. When she saw Mayla, she knew there was no competition. She invited Seokjin to lunch and even directly asked him if he was in love with Kang Mayla, which he vehemently denied, so he accepted her invitation.
Three days later, Mayla learned that her ultimate crush was dating Sung Kyung, a very attractive third-year transfer with the most captivating eyes. Mayla had never cried so much in her life. When she lost Seokjin, she was devastated and had no idea what to do.
She didn't know what to do until she saw them walking hand in hand to campus. The campus community's pity hurt her so much. She was truly in love with Seokjin, and everyone knew she was "his puppy face."
Sung would look at her with narrow eyes, and she and her friends would warn Mayla to stay away from Seokjin at all costs.
That didn't deter Mayla
She believed that Kung did not deserve Seokjin because she was devious and evil.
To the delight of the campus community, Mayla became more determined and there was now an open rivalry between the two girls... Sung was stressed out because she had to compete with an "ugly" girl for her "man's" attention.
Mayla would continue to send him treats because she wanted him to know he was special and that she cared about him. It didn't sit well with Sung. She despised Mayla because some of the students openly stated that Mayla was a better girlfriend because she cared for Seokjin. She genuinely cared about him.
Seokjin was torn in half. He liked her, but he didn't want to hurt the girl who showed him adoration a year and a half ago. Even if he was dating someone else, she still made him special treats. It made Sung envious. She and her friends would secretly bully or harass her Mayla's projects were sabotaged.
But she'll just shrug and redo it until the wee hours of the morning and night. She'll still be first in class, and she hasn't stopped spoiling Seokjin. The more she was bullied, the more determined she became to remain in Seokjin's life.
She even confronted him alone to find out how he felt about Kung.
"Do you sincerely love her, Seokjin?"
Her eyes were wide and vulnerable on his face. Seokjin could only sigh. He hates hurting and wounding Mayla s feelings. She wanted him to confirm it once and for all.
"Mayla. Sung Kyung is my girlfriend. I wouldn't have dated her if I didn't have feelings for her. " He would respond, but Mayla did not take that as an answer.
"I know... but that wasn't my question, Seokjin. Do you love her enough to marry her one day? " She was staring at him with calculating eyes. Seokjins' breath was constrained.
"We're all quite young, Mayla. I don't think we're at the stage in our lives where we can tell if we love someone for life... or not. I'm still not even 23 years old. So I'm still learning about myself. " He attempted to cushion the blow.
She was beaming brightly, "So I'm still competing for your heart?"
Her eyes were radiant. What has he done now? She was not going to give up now. She was still hopeful, and since that day, she had gone to great lengths to impress him while he was still at university.
The new situation amused his friends. Seokjin was unimpressed because his girlfriend demanded that he get rid of Mayla once and for all. She had put up with it for a long time. She had put up with this girl in her relationship for more than six months. It felt like she was in a kdrama where the leads and second leads were constantly involved in drama. She even thought of herself as the second lead.
This girl was taking over her "girlfriend" role.
Sung was hanging out with him in his room one day after his study session. They were making out on his bed when her eyes were drawn to the new, cute boxes of cupcakes on his desk.
She abruptly sat up, pushing Seokjin away and surprising her boyfriend.
"So, Sung, I can't kiss my girlfriend anymore." He was perplexed by her narrowed eyes. His eyes widened at her determined expression.
With pursed rosy lips, she motioned to the cake boxes that were proudly displayed on his desk. "So you still let her spoil you with treats? Jin, I'm your girlfriend. Why do I feel like I'm the loose screw in your life? I'm the important one. Mayla is NOT YOUR GIRLFRIEND I am!' Her eyes were filled with unshed tears. How long must she put up with that obnoxious nerd?
She jumped off the bed, her face filled with anger and hurt.
"I feel like I'm always competing, which isn't fair, Seokjin. I absolutely love you... I want to be with you forever. But this ugly nerd has her claws so deep into you that you can't see what she's doing to our relationship. She is constantly involved. Seokjin, please tell her once and for all that you dislike her. You said she's not your type and she can be annoying, so why is she still an issue in our lives?" She wiped her tears away with the back of her hand. Seokjin leaped to his feet and scooped her up into his arms.
"Sung... why do you let her become an issue?"He tried to console her by saying, "She's just a girl with a crush---"
"A girl who has a crush! What the hell are you on about, Seokjin? Kang Mayla may not appear to be dangerous, but she is. She is obsessive, similar to saseangs in Korean entertainment. She wants you, Seokjin, and she will go to any length to destroy our relationship. I want her out of our lives for good." She was furious.
"I'm sorry if you feel that way," Seokjin sighed deeply as he embraced Sung tightly against him. 'Mayla is aware that I am only interested in you. I'm dating you, not her. She's not an issue. Allow her to enjoy her crush. Sung, she's young! "
"I don't want her around you," she says, her eyes welling up." She makes me doubt your love, Jin, "she couldn't deny it any longer. Mayla's determination frightens her. With her caring nature and delicious treats, this girl has the potential to steal her boyfriend's heart.
Seokjin smiled as he kissed her forehead, "Sung Kyung... you are so silly. You are one of the most beautiful girls on campus, and it is really amusing that a girl like Mayla could unrattled you." He just shook his head as he chuckled. Girls can be so silly. He would've understood if she had had real competition. But deep inside, he understood. Mayla was girlfriend material. She was devoted, loving, and accepting of all people. She even respected his relationship.
She never crossed his personal boundaries and accepted his rejections gracefully, but she never gave up hope for the best and gave him her all. He knows she loved him even if he can't return her feelings. undeniable that he can under no circumstances reveal it to his girlfriend or friends. He is not willing to let go of his "puppy face." She is his anchor, his safe place. Her friendship is costly. She likes him unconditionally, and he can't just go up and break her heart like that. She is a constant in his life.
But, as the months passed, things between him, Mayla, and Sung did not improve. His girlfriend became overly clingy. And when they were near Mayla and her friends, she would unexpectedly kiss him in public, which he liked but did not want to public. She would cling to him and cast evil glances at an unbothered Mayla who appeared sad, but then she would change her demeanor to one of cheerfulness. But he could tell that Sung's new public strategy irked her. But, because they all adore and know the little nerd, she would retaliate.
The fourth-year student was preparing to graduate from the academy during his last days on campus. Yoongi and Namjoon, two of his friends, paid him a visit, and Mayla, on the other hand, went home for the weekend. They were captivated when they learned from his dorm mates about Mayla. She was madly in love with Seokjin, and his Bangtan friends wanted to meet her, but they were only there for his graduation and had plans to go skiing in the Alps.
They are hoping to meet the girl who baked all of Seokjin's treats. They met his lovely girlfriend, but Yoongi, as usual, was unimpressed by pretty faces. Pretty faces were gold diggers in his opinion. Sungs' beauty completely wowed Namjoon. She was the ideal match for the handsome Seokjin, and she was wealthy despite the fact that her parents were not billionaires. She originated from a prominent family. His parents will be proud of him, but Seokjin wasn't ready to commit to the girl. He still wants to do more with his life than marry and have a family.
That graduation week was like hell broke loose...and it had a ripple effect on his life...
Sung Kyung and Mayla ...
