Taylor waits patiently, leaning against the bedframe as the phone rings. Keziyah finally picks up after a few seconds, looking like she had just woken up. "Hey baby, what's up?" Kez spoke, sitting up in the bed. Taylor couldn't help but blush at the name, no matter how many times Kez used it, it always made her all flustered. "Hey. Good morning, I'm sorry if I woke you." She said, adjusting the camera so Kez could fully see her.
"It's fine. Seeing your pretty face makes up for it." Kez says, her voice deeper from just waking up, causing butterflies to swarm in Taylor's stomach. "You're too sweet. So, I assume this means you haven't heard the song your sister sent you last night?" Kez furrowed her brows, shaking her head in response as she stood up, walking to the bathroom to freshen up. "No. I just remember her sending over the piano verse for the song I wrote."
"Well, I am not kidding when I say it's one of Kallie's best songs. It's so raw and just real, you know? It's so hard to believe they wrote this in under ten minutes." Taylor ranted excitedly, seeing Kez brushing her teeth with tired eyes. "What do you mean by "they"?" The singer asks, her brows knitted in confusion.
"Oh, right, forgot to mention, she wrote it with Lewis. He's that famous race car driver that Kallie had beef with before. We used to tease her about the little crush she had on him, remember?" Taylor smirks, she had always known Kallie would get with him eventually. She was absolutely not a fan of Kallie's ex, the famous rapper known as Big Sean. Kezie had a few songs with him because Kallie didn't want to make any with him. So majority of Sean's songs were about Kallie.
"Oh wow, that feels like ages ago." She expressed, drying off her face and walking back over to the bed in her trailer.
"I know right? I didn't even know he could write songs until I heard it myself. I sent you the link to it, play it for me. I wanna see your reaction." Kezie chuckles at Taylor's cheerful tone, reaching for her laptop and searching for the song. She played it, making sure it was loud enough for both of them to hear. Kez hummed along to the song, loving the way it sounded and how her sister's voice mixed perfectly with Lewis's.
She turned it down, leaving it on replay so she could talk to Taylor. "That is just...wow. You said they wrote it in less than ten minutes?" She questioned in disbelief.
"Yeah. Basically, Jack sent her some beats and she didn't have a song that fit with this specific beat and you know how Kallie is really good at just coming up with lyrics just by listening to a piano?" Kez nods in reply, letting Tay continue. "Well it was his idea to write a new song to fit the beat and they just came up with the song out of nowhere. It's insane, right? The emotion just seeping through their vocals, it's kinda driving me crazy. I'm not the only one hearing it, right?"
Kez pursed her lips, nodding in agreement. "No, I hear it too. It's real. Nothing like I've heard before. Maybe too real."
"You could hear it in real time. I think Kallie's falling in love." Taylor awed, her cheeks turning red at the thought. This is the most vulnerable she's ever heard Kallie be on a song and it was inspiring her heavily for her album. Kez frowned, she almost didn't want to believe that her sister was falling for someone but the song spoke enough. "I really hate to agree with this, but I think you're right. Kallie doesn't even let anyone in her studio at Monaco. We're the only ones allowed in there. She must really like him."
"That's what I was thinking, it's so romantic. You should've seen the way he looked at her on FaceTime, like he was memorized. I know this is gonna sound crazy, but I might have wrote a song. Their relationship kind of inspired me. I'm gonna send the lyrics to you." Taylor smiles as she sends them right over, Kez immediately clicking on them and reading them in her head. "What do you think?" Taylor asks in a nervous tone, she always liked getting Kezie's opinions but it still made her nervous, in a good way.
"I think you're a genius, beautiful." Kez grinned seeing Tay turn away from the camera to hide her blushing. "Don't turn away, I wanna see that pretty face, darling." Kez says, her strong accent making Taylor blush even more. "You're too much." The blonde says, pushing her hair from her face. "Yeah but you love it."
Taylor cleared her throat, getting back on topic before they got off track. "Okay okay, back to the reason I called. Since Lewis didn't wanna release their version, which by the way, I think is so adorable because it's obvious that song is sacred to him. We talked about who would sing his verse and they wanted Khalid. So I am calling to ask if you could contact him about recording the song with Kallie. If not for her, please do it for me." Taylor smiles innocently, her eyes pleading with the actress.
"Fine, only because you look extra beautiful today, love." Kez says, flirting shamelessly, clearly not giving a damn that Taylor had a boyfriend. Someone needed to make sure Taylor was being showed the love she deserved and if he wasn't gonna do it, she was.
"Thank you. You're the best, Kez."
"Anything for you, lovely."

"Is it true you wrote a song with Lewis?" Kaylen questions, breaking the silence surrounding them as the two walked down the hall to find their hotel room. Jamie was behind them, holding her luggage in his hands as he insisted. "Uh, nope. Why would you think that?" She asked, stopping in front of the door and unlocking it. "Kezie said something, I didn't really hear her. I figured it wasn't true. You don't let anyone in your Monaco studio and now Lewis is suddenly an option? I don't think you guys are friends like that." Kay shrugs, setting his luggage atop the bed.
"We're not. It's just..I don't know. I mean, yeah, he's a cool guy but not like my best friend? Doesn't mean anything is happening if that's what you're worried about, Kay." Kallie takes the luggage from Jamie with a smile, exchanging goodbyes before he left to go to his own hotel room.
"No, no, I know nothings happening. That's good cause he's my teammate, I don't want things to get weird." Kaylen said, walking into the bathroom to freshen up.
"Totally, I get it. Not gonna get weird." She mumbles, sitting down and glancing at the flashdrive in her hands. Now she definitely wasn't gonna show Kaylen the song. He would freak out.
"I'm gonna get lunch with Charles and Carlos, you wanna come with?" Kaylen questions, walking out of the bathroom and going to his suitcase. "No, I'm fine. I have something to do today." Kallie shrugs, looking down at her phone where she was texting Dr. Grey again. "All right. If you leave make sure Jamie's with you. And eat something, okay?" The driver says as he pulls on a sweater and reaches for his keys.
"Love you sis." Kaylen pressed a kiss to her head before leaving the room.
The phone rings loudly and she quickly picks it up, holding it up to her ear. "Hello."
"Hey, Kalliope, I'm sending your file to the hospital there, I texted you the address, I want you to get your treatments for the week and update me on your progress." Dr. Grey said, the background noise sounding like it came from a printer. "Okay, I'll head over there right now. Thank you so much." Kallie hung up quickly and pulled on a cardigan, taking the keys and walking out to find Jamie's room.
Unfortunately, on the way down the hall Lewis had just exit his room and noticed the singer, quickly calling her name. "What are you up to?" He asked, joining her side as she stopping in front of the elevator. "Uhh..nothing. Just going to find Jamie's room." She shrugs, stepping into the lift once it opened. She pressed the button for Jamie's floor and Lewis moved to press the first floor to the lobby. "Well, I'm going to grab lunch. Would you like to join me?" He offers.
"I would but I can't, I kind of already have plans." Lewis rasied a brow, he could tell when she was lying or covering something up. Kaylen had said that she likes to tap her foot and her voice would get higher. "Really? What plans?" He asks as the elevator stops at Jamie's floor. Kallie steps out, turning to look back at him, "hospital. I'm donating blood. You have a good day." She smiled tightly, quickly walking away and he couldn't chase after her because the elevator door already closed.
"Fuck, that was close."

Well, in case it wasn't already clear, they were in Azerbaijan for the Grand Prix, practice had went decently well, same with qualifying. Kallie was walking around the paddock as Kaylen was busy with press and team meetings. "Kallie!" The singer turns around to see Daniel calling her name, waving her over. She smiled, walking over to him, Jamie trailing behind her. "Hey, Danny. How have you been?" She greets, accepting his gentle hug.
"As good as I'll ever be. You know I tried calling you but it said your number was out of service. Did you change it?" He asked, leaning against the garage wall. "Yeah, I changed it a while ago. I must've forgot to tell you. Here, let's exchange numbers." Kallie handed him her phone and he did the same, also taking a selfie for the picture. "Ah, I see you got Charles and Carlos in your contacts before me. That hurts, truly." Daniel faked a dramatic wince, holding his hand to his heart.
"You're so dramatic. Just be lucky you have my number, I'm quite the popular one these days," she jokes, snatching her phone back playfully. "Ah yes, your majesty, I shall bow to you." Daniel dramatically drops to one knee, bowing his head at her. Kallie laughs, taking a bow for him and pulling him up by his bicep. "So, I heard a little rumor that you and Max were a thing? That true?" He asks, looking down at her with his arms crossed.
"What? No. Where'd you hear that from?" She scoffs, looking up at him in confusion.
"Max. He said you guys went out on a date and things were getting serious," Daniel explained. He obviously didn't believe Max cause all the times he seen Kallie around the paddock, she had been with Kaylen, George, Lando, Charles, Carlos, and sometimes even Lewis. "That's ridiculous. We just went out for dinner, that was like weeks ago. We haven't even talked about it since. You don't actually believe him, do you?"
"No way. I know you don't date guys like him." Daniel put an arm around her, rubbing her arm in a comforting manner. "I should really listen to my sister and date girls again," she mutters, gaining a laugh from the Australian.
Kaylen walked into the driver's room, a pissed off expression on his face, slightly worrying Lewis. "What's up with you?" He questioned, watching as his teammate paced back and forth. "You know how my sister said to never let real problems affect me on the track? Yeah, I think I'm gonna have to disappoint her." Kaylen nods to himself, running a hand over his hair.
Lewis stood up quickly hearing that, "Whoa, whoa, whoa, let's just calm down okay? Take a breather. What's got you so pissed?"
"That fuckin' prick, Max. Carlos was telling me how he was going around saying he was dating my sister, and how they spent time together after the race in Monaco, which we know is a lie because she was with us. Now everyone's thinkin' he's getting it in with my sis." Kaylen rants, a disgusted and pissed off expression mirroring his features, unable to notice how Lewis clenched his fists, his jaw clenching angrily. "And it's not the first time he's done this."
Lewis furrowed his brows, "what do you mean?"
"You didn't know? When they were teammates in Red Bull he was spreadin' rumors about them being together cause he had a crush on her. They got into a huge argument but Horner forced them to make up and they moved past it. But now it's happening all over again and I'm not gonna lie, I have the craziest urge to push him off the track. It doesn't help that she's older than him so this makes her look bad." Kaylen rambled, his fists clenching and unclenching.
"Listen mate, I know you're pissed, and I completely understand, cause I also have that urge to shove him off the track but that's not how we handle things out there, okay? We can't let our personal feelings effect us on the track. It's dangerous and people can get hurt. So you need to calm down, all right? Give me your phone." Kaylen looked at him in confusion, reluctantly passing Lewis his phone. "What are you doing?"
"What's your password?"
"1989." Kaylen mumbles.
Lewis looked up at him with a look that said "are you serious right now" and Kaylen awkwardly scratches the back of his neck. "Really, man? The Taylor Swift album?"
"What? I like Out Of The Woods." Kaylen shrugs, getting a small laugh from Lewis, the man shaking his head in amusement and putting in the four numbers.
"Here, this should calm you down." Lewis tossed him the phone, before he could question him, his mother Kaikara popped up on the screen with a warm smile. "Hi, my baby boy! I'm so happy you called! I missed you so much!" Kaylen smiled, his anger simmering at the sight of his mother. "Hi, mama. I missed you too." He greeted in Xhosa, moving to sit on the couch.
"Where is Lewis? I want to say hi." Kai says eagerly, she had always adored Lewis and his admiration for her daughter. Lewis leaned down to get into the camera frame, waving his hand at the older woman who still looked like she was in her thirties. "Hey, Mrs. Kumalo. How you been? You look stunning." Lewis grins, getting a nudge from Kaylen. "Stop charming my mum." He defends.
"Oh, thank you Lewis! Kaylie, stop being so jealous. If you had half the charm he does, you'd have a girlfriend or boyfriend already!" Kai scolds, gaining a chuckle from Lewis and a whine from Kaylen. "Mama, I told you to stop calling me that! I'm a grown man, now!" He exclaimed, trying to sound serious but Lewis still laughed.
"I will call you whatever I want, I pushed you out of my body! Now where is your sister?"

Kallie stood in the Mercedes garage, watching the monitors nervously as the race started. She had noticed there was something different about Kaylen's behavior and she hoped it wouldn't affect him on the track. It was now close to lap 45 when out of nowhere Kaylen started pushing his way up, formally in P14 but now he was fighting Vettel for P4. "Come on, Kay. You got this," Kallie spoke quietly to herself, her leg bouncing in anticipation.
Finally did Kaylen manage to get pass Vettel, now fighting his teammate for P3. Toto was getting frustrated as his two drivers went wheel to wheel. Lewis was trying his hardest, almost like he knew something would happen if Kaylen went past him. "What the hell are they doing!" Toto exclaims. Finally coming up on a turn, Kaylen just managed to push Lewis behind him, catching up to Sergio Perez and fighting him for P2. "Come on, Kay, remember what I taught you," Kallie spoke to herself, her brother going wheel to wheel with Perez.
Coming up on a turn, Kaylen pushes Perez behind him, a few seconds behind Max Verstappen, who was in P1. That's when it hit Kallie. This wasn't about winning. This was about her. Kaylen was letting his emotions get the best of him. "Don't do it, Kay. Focus on the race. Don't let him get to you." She repeats. Kaylen was getting closer and closer to Max, coming up on lap 46. The drove wheel to wheel now, Max doing his best to defend his position.
And then it happened, their cars touched, both of them spinning off and colliding with the wall. "Shit!" Toto slams his headphones on the floor angrily. Kallie sighed in disappointment, even though you couldn't tell whose fault it was, she knew it was Kaylen's. Max had climbed out of the car, looking over at Kaylen's car with confusion. Kaylen climbed out of the car, pulling off his helmet and balaclava. "What the hell man!" Max exclaims, walking over to him.
"Keep my sister's name out your mouth!" Kaylen shoved Max harshly, making Max shove him back before people ran over to push them apart before a fight could break out.
Toto looked over to Kallie, the radio still connected to Kaylen so he could hear everything faintly. She sighed, walking out of the garage, Jamie blocking her from the cameras. Kallie left to the hotel, not even staying to watch the race. She was pissed off to say the least. She knew to never let your personal feelings affect you on the track, and she told him that a million times. It was one of the most important rules. It was a rule that would keep him safe and he pushed it aside.
She finished watching the race in the hotel room, it wasn't a good day for Mercedes, obviously. Lewis's tires had locked up, putting him in 16th place. The winners being Sergio Perez in P1, Sebastian Vettel in P2, which Kallie was happy about because who doesn't love Sebastian winning? And Pierre Gasly would gain P3. They did some interviews as well, Max claiming the accident wasn't his fault and putting the blame on Kaylen.
Kaylen would do the same, claiming it was Max who got too close to him. It was just a big mess that the press was eating up. Daniel and Lando had texted her, giving her updates on the situation. They told her about how Toto had brought Kaylen into the office and most likely yelled at him for letting his emotions get the best of him, also for going wheel to wheel with Lewis which could've went nasty if Lewis didn't give up and let Kaylen get in front of him.
Just as Kallie came out of the bathroom, Kaylen had walked in, a frown on his face. "Uh, the guys said you left early. I got worried." She didn't respond, moving to sit on her bed as she picked up the phone, texting back Daniel who invited her to get breakfast with him and Carlos tomorrow. "Look, I'm sorry, is that what you wanna hear? What did you expect me to do? He was spreading rumors about you! Forgive me for defending your fucking honor!" Kaylen exclaimed angrily.
"Don't you ever raise your voice at me." She turned to him with a sharp glare.
Kaylen sighed, looking away from her sharp eyes. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't talk to you like that. But what did you expect me to do, Kallie? He had it coming the way he was talking about you. I was just defending you. It's not like you were gonna do anything about it. All you do is run away when things get too real." Realizing what he said, he stopped himself, running a hand down his hair. "I didn't mean that-"
"Yes you did. It came out of your mouth, didn't it? By all means, get it out. Let me know exactly what you think of me." Kallie gestured for him to continue, but he stayed quiet, just looking ashamed of himself for saying that about her. "Come on, say it? It's not like I haven't heard it before. I hear it from the press, I hear it from my own sister, why not hear it from my brother too? Complete the never ending cycle of it being my fault." Kallie stood up, tossing her phone on the bed.
"You have no idea how hard it was to leave, it was the hardest choice I've ever had to make. I lost dad, my mental health was deteriorating, my fiancรฉ cheated on me because I wasn't giving him enough attention, and my sister turned on me. You think that wasn't hard on me? I am sorry for finally making my own decisions and prioritizing myself." Kaylen's face fell, he had no idea that was the reason she left Sean. He just thought they fell out of love like some would.
"I'm sorry, Kal, I didn't know-"
"Good. I did my job then." She responded without hesitation, a tear rolling down her cheek. "You know you may not realize it, but I have always put you first. I put you first, I put Kezie first, I put our family first. And when I finally decide to put myself first, I'm the bad guy. And I still put you first." She stopped in front of him, his head hung low as tears threatened to fall, guilt eating up at him.
"I did everything in my power to ready you for this. I put my plans aside to come to all of your races and you do that? I don't need you to defend me. I need you to grow up. What you did out there goes against everything I taught you. Did you see me push Max off the track when he spread those rumors around? No. Because despite how angry I was at him, I kept professional and dealt with it privately. Something I would've done had you not put yourself in my business."
"I just wanted to protect you like you protected me, Kal. I mean, you didn't even get to grieve dad or even process your breakup because you were helping me through my own grief. I wanted to do the same for you, and I realize it was wrong and it could've been done differently. I'm sorry, Kal. I only wanted to protect you. I let my feelings get the best of me and I'm sorry. It won't happen again, I promise. Please forgive me. I can't do this without you. I don't want you to leave. Please, Kal. I'm begging you."
His shaky hands reached for hers, tears fallings as he gave her pleading eyes. "Please, Kal."
"I'm not leaving you, despite how pissed off I am at you. I would never leave you. Come here." She spoke, speaking some words in Xhosa. She found it more impactful in her native language. Kaylen didn't hesitate before wrapping her arms around her. It wasn't until her words hit him that he realized how much she had sacrificed for him. He hated himself for even raising his voice at her. It wasn't everyday your famous sister put all her plans on hold just to see all your races, including practice and qualifying.
"I was gonna get dinner with Lando, did you wanna come with?" He asked as he pulled away, wiping his teary face.
"No, I actually have to go see someone. I think he needs some cheering up. But you should invite Jamie, he's got nothing to do." Kallie smiled softly, sliding her feet into some shoes. "Yeah, I'll invite him. Who's this guy you're going to go see?" Kaylen mumbled curiously, trying to act like he didn't care that much but they both knew the truth. "Nobody you should concern yourself with." She shrugs, pulling on her gray folklore cardigan.
"It's not Max, is it? Cause then I'd have to apologize for the crash and there's no way I'm doing that," he scoffed, stopping when she shot him a glare. "I forgave you, but that doesn't mean I'm not still very pissed. Don't push it." She picked up her keys, walking to the door. "See you when I get back, don't wait up."
Kallie rushed out, walking down the hall, she stopped at the hotel room door and knocked on it. Hopefully he was back or else this would be really embarrassing. The door opened but it was a woman, a very attractive woman, wearing a robe with clearly nothing underneath. "Uh hello? Do I know you? You look familiar? Are you that singer, uh, Keziyah, right?" She grinned. Kallie's smile dropped, not because she was just compared to her sister but because a woman was not who she expected to answer the door.
"Wrong room, darling." Lewis cleared his throat, leaning against the doorframe in the room across the hall. Kallie face-palmed, giving an apologetic smile to the woman, "wrong room, my mistake. You have a good night." Kallie went to turn around but the woman reached for her hand, tugging her back around. "No, I recognize you! You're Keziyah's baby sister! Kalliope! Can I get your autograph?" Kallie forced a smile, "we're only a year apart but sure."
"Awesome! Let me go get a pen!" The woman rushed back into her room in search for a pen or marker.
Kallie turned to look at a very amused Lewis, the driver mocking the woman's excitement. The woman came back, handing the marker to Kallie. "Uh, where do you want me to sign?" Kallie asked in confusion, the woman without hesitation leaned forward and pushed up her boobs. "Oh okay." Kallie cleared her throat awkwardly, signing her signature on the woman's breasts. "There ya go."
"Thank you! Have a good night!" The woman rushed back into her room, shutting the door behind her.
Kallie exhaled, turning around to see Lewis was recording it all on his phone. "If you post that, you're dead!" Kallie shoved his phone into his chest, pushing past him to enter the room, dying of second hand embarrassment. "That just made my week." He chuckles, shutting the door after her and seeing her sitting on his bed. "I hate you." She muttered. "That would've never happened if you had sucked up your pride and just used my number," he retorts.
"Who says I even have your number?" She scoffs, tugging off her cardigan.
"Please, we both know you have it saved in your phone. Just waiting for the day you'll finally stop being stubborn and use it." He shrugs, sitting down next to her and it was when their arms brushed against each other that she realized he was shirtless, only in a pair of gray sweatpants. "Whatever. Anyways, back to why I'm here." Lewis squint his eyes at her, "yeah, why are you here? Kinda confusing since you blew me off a few days ago."
"I didn't blow you off, I was just busy." Kallie pursed her lips, looking away from his burning eyes.
"I'm sure you were busy those other times as well." He said with sarcastic nod, his hand patting her left one that she had planted on her thigh. "Yeah yeah, oh well, get over it. I finished watching the race and I could see how frustrated you were so I decided why not be a good friend and help take your mind off it." Kallie pats his hand with a firm smile. A smirk grows at the corner of her lips, "so you finally admit that we're friends?"
"I'm leaving." Kallie stood up but his hands reach for her waist, "I'm sorry, don't leave. Please. I want you to take my mind off it." Kallie hums, sitting back down, his hands leaving her waist. Part of her wished he left them on her. "Okay, so to show my utmost gratitude for your help in Monaco with my album, I put the songs we recorded so far on this flashdrive just for you. So you can listen to them whenever you want. It has our song in there as well. It's stupid, I know but I just thought-"
"It's not stupid, sweetheart. I love it." His smile brightened, taking the flashdrive from her hand gently.
Kallie smiled, feeling herself blush at his response. "Oh, and I wanted to tell you that Taylor got my sister to call up Khalid. He got back to me this morning and he loved the song. He's ready to record it whenever I'm ready." Lewis's eyes widened in shock, his arms wrapping around her smaller frame without a second thought. "That's amazing. I'm so proud of you." He mumbled into her neck, feeling her smile against his skin, the singer trying her best not to panic over his bare chest pressed against her covered one.
"Proud of us. It was a team effort. I couldn't have done it without you, seriously." She said as he pulled away, she almost wished he didn't. "Which is why I want to invite you to help me finish what we started. My normal producer is gonna be busy with some other artists so I thought it'd be a good idea for you to help me instead. Only if you want to, of course. No pressure." She rambled, fiddling with the rings on her fingers.
"No, I definitely want to. I'd love to help you." He agreed, taking her hands in his so she wouldn't damage her fingers.
"That's great. Also, I uh, I haven't eaten today so I figured we could get dinner? Only if you want to! No pressure!" She rushed out, a nervous look on her face. He just smiled at her, admiring every feature on her face. She was the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen. "Woman you're gonna give yourself a heart attack if you keep saying no pressure." He jokes, squeezing her hands gently.
She chuckles nervously, "so, is that a yes?"
"Yes, I'd love to get dinner with you. Just let me get dressed and we can go. But you're driving, I hate roads." Lewis says, standing up and going to the drawers to get some clean clothes.
"You've gotta be the only driver I know who hates driving."
"And yet you still like me."
"Don't flatter yourself, pretty boy," she scoffs.
"See? You called me pretty."
