( July '93ย )

Cassandra walked into Ginny's room and sat down on the bed next to Ginny's, when the Fred and George sauntered in. Fred sat on Cassandra's left side while George sat on her right.ย

"What're you two doing?" asked Cassandra.ย

She didn't trust the two because of the stories that Ron and Ginny had told her. They told her that Fred and George played pranks a lot. And that the twins are the reason why Ron has arachnophobia. Cassandra was also afraid of spiders but, not as much as Ron. She was also afraid of loud noises such as fireworks and she was also afraid of needles.ย

"How old are you?" asked George.

Cassandra didn't get time to answer.

"How many pets do you have?" asked Fred.ย

"If you have pets, what kind of pets?"

"Do you have siblings?"

"If you have siblings, how many?"

"Do you have aunts and uncles?"ย

"Are you adopted?"ย

Fred and George asked the questions so fast that Cassandra didn't have time to answer. They kept asking questions over and over again, so much that Cassandra felt overwhelmed.ย

"Enough you two!" shouted Cassandra. "You two are making me feel overwhelmed with the constant asking of questions."

Ginny suddenly appeared in the doorway.ย

"What happened? I heard yelling," asked Ginny, "you two aren't doing anything to her right?"

Fred and George put their arms around Cassandra almost covering her entire face.ย

"Of course not," they chorused.

Cassandra tried to mouth "help!" but it was no use seeing as Fred and George were almost covering up her entire face. Ginny raised an eyebrow, skeptically, but dropped the subject and left to go attend to her chores. Fred and George removed their arms from Cassandra. But doing so, Fred slipped a dead cockroach in Cassandra's hair.

"Look!" exclaimed George, pointing to Cassandra's hair, "there's a dead cockroach in your hair."

Cassandra reached up into her hair and pulled out the dead cockroach. She tossed it out the window, unfazed. She glared at the twins.ย

"I don't know what game you guys may be trying to play," she started, pointing her finger at them, "but just know, that I'm going to bite back."

She walked away flicking her hair over her shoulder.ย

Over the next few days, Fred and George kept bothering Cassandra so much that she was threatening to do magic outside of school just so she could blast them across the room. It's safe to say that Cassandra's very temperamental. One moment she could be as sweet as candy and the next moment she could be cussing somebody else. It was just how she was born. When somebody messes with her, she messes with them back. If someone's being nice to her, she is nice back.ย

It was already stifling hot outside despite it being early in the morning. Cassandra had just woken up and walked outside when she was immediately hit with hot air rushing towards her. It didn't help that there was no shade or breeze. Cassandra had her long black hair up in a low ponytail which was perfect for hot days. She wore a Cinderella pajama set with matching slippers.

Cassandra didn't like the hot weather. She mainly stayed inside during the summer time. Instead of hibernating in the winter, she does it in the summer. Cassandra had planned to play soccer but she knew that she would soon get sweaty and smelly. She walked back inside, swiftly grabbing her soccer ball and water bottle, then heading back outside.

She took a sip from her water bottle before putting the soccer ball down. She quickly put on her cleats, turned her right foot to the right, and kicked the soccer ball as far as she could. Not bad for being out of practice, she thought.

Ever since she was little, she has been playing soccer. She wasn't necessarily great at it, but she wasn't terrible. She's had plenty of practice. And she always has a motto that she goes by, practice makes perfect.ย

Cassandra extends her right foot out and kicks the soccer ball with the side of her foot. In soccer, you needed to kick with the side of your foot and not the front because you could get injured. Sure, if you kick from the front it would have a lot more power but it could also seriously hurt.ย

The ball lands not too far away from the garage where the Weasleys's flying car stayed in. Cassandra went to get the ball when she heard a noise coming from the barn. Cassandra slowly stepped forward and peeked her head inside the barn. A shadow was slowly walking towards her and Cassandra immediately took out her wand from her back pocket.

"Reveal yourself," demanded Cassandra.

A tiny house elf stepped out and looked up at Cassandra with big eyes.

"Dobby! Don't scare me like that. What are you doing here?" Cassandra asked, relieved that it was an old friend of hers.

"Did you hear that Sirius Black had escaped Azkaban?" asked Dobby.

This was news to Cassandra and she couldn't believe it, "Really? Nobody has ever escaped."

"You know what this means, right?" asked Dobby.

"Yes, sadly I do. But I can't use magic outside of school so how am I supposed to protect myself?"

Dobby tossed a wand to Cassandra and she caught it.

"Dobby, who's wand is this and why do you have it?"

"It was Regina Lou's old wand. She hasn't registered her new wand yet, so the Ministry will think it's her doing the spells. And she handed it to me for you. She knew you could use it."

Regina Lou was an old friend of Cassandra's mom, Hayley. She knew Cassandra well and had always wanted Cassandra to be safe. Cassandra put her head down. She didn't want to be in danger and she knew that her mom would want her to be safe. Dobby snapped his fingers and disappeared.

Cassandra went back inside an hour later. She was scared and lonely. She barely had any friends and they were all so far away. Cassandra felt like sending a letter to Oliver, but decided against it. She sat down on her makeshift bed in Ginny's room and felt like crying. She tried often to not let her emotions get the best of her but it is hard sometimes. Everyone has trouble with not letting their emotions get to them and it's not worth lying about.

~~

Cassandra starting the fire on the stove. She placed a pot on top. She didn't know it, but Fred was watching her closely from a distance. He looked at the way she held herself up and could immediately tell that she held herself high because she tried to live up to society's high standards.

He watched her luscious chocolate brown hair sway as she walked around the kitchen. He guessed that it would become darker as she got older. He noticed that every time Cassandra felt at peace, she would hum and that's what she was doing right now.

Fred felt protective over Cassandra and he couldn't place why. He feels the same protection over Harry that he does with Cassandra.

Cassandra now started dancing around the kitchen as she put ingredients away. She looked at peace and happy. Fred loved seeing little ones happy like Cassandra is. Fred didn't want to intrude anymore and came out of his hiding spot.

"Hey, Cassie. What are you cooking for dinner?" Fred asked, making small talk.

"Fred, I know you were watching me. Anyways I'm cooking something I was taught by a friend, Arroz Con Pollo. It's a Puerto Rican dish. It has chicken in it, but I'm only going to have the rice since I'm vegetarian. " answered Cassandra.

Fred looked confused. "Wait-wait I'm George, not Fred."

"Don't lie to me. You have that tiny, barely noticeable, freckle on your nose that indicates you're Fred not George."

"Wow, you noticed that?" Fred asked.

"Yeah, I might not talk much but I observe things."

Fred smiled at Cassandra and took out a spoon. The dish was now finished cooking and Fred wanted to try it. He took a spoonful of the rice, and put it in his mouth.

Cassandra watched him and couldn't tell if he liked it or not. Fred looked down at her, and gave her a thumbs up. She smiled and Fred smiled back.

It was a nice ending to the day. The Weasley family loved Cassandra's cooking and were hoping that she would cook more often.
