2 - i have somewhere to be
CHAPTER 2
i have somewhere to be
━━━━━━━━━━━━
The week had been passing by way too slow for Taehyungs liking, the days so long and tiring that he found himself in his room whenever the group was at their dorms.
And once again he lies in his bed, curled up in his wrinkled sheets that has a distinct smell of his many sleepless nights tossing and turning. The other boys are out in the living room he can tell as he stays still and listen to their bickering and how plates are being put on the table.
Taking in a deep breath he turns on his side, watching how his nightstand clock mocks him with how slow time is passing.
8:58 PM.
They got off from the dance practice early today. The past days they've had 14 hour long days at least, only leaving the dull squared dance room for beverages or a hint of fresh air.
Preparing for comebacks is something that Taehyung dreads — the constant pressure not only mentally but also physically drains him for energy and during the past few months the constant thought of just leaving it all behind has stroked his hectic mind a little too often for his liking.
I'm just so fucking tired.
Three subtle knocks on the wooden door makes Taehyung lift his head a little, his drowsy eyes making their way to the creaking of the door opening slightly.
What catches his eyes is a round, squishy head, the light-blue strands of hair that's wearing out peeping inside. The male smiles as he sees Taehyung snuggled up in bed, his frame moving closer before colliding on top of him.
"Ouch— Jimin!" Taehyung whines, feeling his body being buried in the sheets, feeling how Jimin's chest vibrates from his chuckles.
"Dinner is ready." Jimin moves, placing himself at the foot of the bed, ruffling his hair a little. His bare face looks weary as well, but a wide grin is placed on his plump lips making Taehyung smile a little.
"I'm not really hungry. I have somewhere to be." Taehyung muffles as he glance at the clock again, standing up slowly as he jumps into a pair of khaki loose denim trousers before he strips himself from the sweaty t-shirt he has been dancing in all day and grab a fresh shirt from his closet. Dark-green with white flowers decorating his upper body while he pairs it with white sneakers.
Jimin sits and looks at him with raised eyebrows, his eyes narrowing at his suddenly rushing friend.
"Where are you going looking like that?" He teases, and Taehyung can't help rolling his eyes at Jimin as he is wiggling his eyebrows at him.
Taehyung look in the full-body mirror, ruffling his hair before shrugging his shoulders.
"Just out. I won't be gone for long."
Jimin takes ahold of his bottom lip, nodding slowly. Him and the other boys has been worried about Taehyung for quite some time now, noticing how he was distancing himself from them. His mood has been down as well, a somehow jittery and anxious form taking place in him instead of the usual happy and smiley Taehyung.
"I'll go tell the others, then. Enjoy yourself Tae." Jimin smiles, standing up and walk to the door before he sends his friend a teasing wink.
"What do you mean he's not eating with us? I prepared this meal with my blood, sweat and tears! If you know what I mean ..."
Taehyung scoffs and grins hearing Jin's booming voice and laugh from the gathering before he drapes a dark-green denim jacket over his shoulders, his black Chanel bag tugged inside of it. As he moves out of the room he almost forgets his white face mask.
Should I just drop it tonight? For once?
Biting his bottom lip he decides and move his way out of the dorms, the white mask placed in front of his mouth, shielding him from the outside world.
━━━━
Looking down on the pavement, Taehyung feels how his breath is starting to stag more with every step he takes. The fact that he's alone tonight, no security guy to keep him on a leash is so scary but at the same time so damn satisfying.
Darting his head up from time to time he watches how the young people of Seoul is enjoying themselves at this late hour, and it makes him wonder what they do to smile like that — how are they living their life to the fullest?
Deep in his thoughts his feet knows the way to the place he's heading and before he knows it, a catchy song reaches his ears and his head automatically lifts, catching sight of the reason why he went out tonight.
The same girl from last week is there again, the only thing he has been looking forward to catch sight of again the entire week.
This time she's dancing to Crooked Smile by J-Cole, another track making Taehyung smile, his eyes crinkling up behind his white mask. As the song continues, Taehyungs eyes are glued to the girl, the way she moves so effortlessly.
Today she's wearing a huge over-sized t-shirt in a bright orange color, black biker shorts underneath it alongside some white sneakers. Her brown hair is in a high ponytail, the locks slightly curled. Her smile just as big as last Wednesday as she lets herself fall into the music and follows the beat so perfectly.
Watching her somehow lit a put-out fire in Taehyung, the sudden urge for him to dance appearing out of nowhere. He hasn't felt like dancing for months and now on a random street in Seoul, he suddenly does — because of her. It's like her passion and excitement pass over to Taehyung, making his chest warm up, painting a constant smile on his lips.
Once again the unknown girl catches her audience, even though there aren't many people here today. Taehyung stands still, bopping his head to the music and watch her finish the song flawlessly.
His eyes darts to the audience, noticing how the unknown girl's things are hidden behind her speaker. A pile of books behind it alongside notes that are just about to fall out her bag that are lying sprawled out on the ground.
Clenching his jaw, Taehyung moves slowly towards the things, not wanting to be noticed by anyone.
With his head low he manages to reach the speaker, bowing down slightly and tug in the papers in the folder once again, his eyes swiftly glancing over the neatly written notes — and without thinking about it, he slyly leads his right hand down in the big pocket of his denim jacket, releasing the white paper in his hand, hiding it there.
As he stands up fully again, his eyes land on the dancing girl who's taking a small break from her performance. Her breathing is heavy, small pebbles on sweat decorating her forehead — her skin glistening in the lights from the stores, a somehow golden aura taking form around her.
Rolling his lips together, Taehyung can practically feel the urge in his fingers and body to talk to her, letting her know how talented she is at what she's doing.
Sighing out he darts his eyes to the ground instead, walking away from the same exact spot that took his breath away last week.
And somehow he's counting on loosing it again next week.
