Press conference

ICT media manager : Welcome everyone, without wasting any time we will directly start with the press conference, you all would get a chance to ask questions at the end. We have Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya here to address and answer you all.

Rohit : Good afternoon! I don't wish to greet anyone but just for formality.

Harry snickered as Ro said the sentence and even the ever cool Jassi was finding it hard to control his laughter. Media personnel were taken aback by just a greeting, none of them knew the reason for the conference but it seemed to be serious.

Rohit : I will directly jump to the topic as I don't have much time unlike some of you present here who are forever free, nor like the trollers sitting at home and targeting someone. So, I just want to ask a question to everyone, how are you so free!? I mean you don't have any work? Or do you get paid to troll? Yes, we are here to address the recent incident which all of you have glorified on social media instead of trying to stop it.

Harry : Anushka Sharma, our manager, was trolled for hanging out with us! She was trolled for her comments on posts! Her professionalism was questioned by some of you who are sitting here! And this isn't the first time! Having a public account on social media doesn't give anyone the right to comment on anything and everything, it doesn't give anyone the right to question the person!

Shocked! Ever so joyous Hardik Pandya was pissed and angry at the people sitting in front of them.

Jassi : No one has the right to invade her privacy or ask her questions about her relationship with the captain or the players or the staff when they say they will tell when time comes! That's her personal life and she isn't answerable to any of you, not even us!

Ro : She was selected to be the manager because she's capable of doing that job, she was interviewed like any other staff member, she wasn't given any privilege for being Virat Kohli’s manager!

Jassi : She hangouts with us, why is that a problem to the public or anyone else when none of us are troubled! She is an identity of her own and needs none of us to prove her worth!

Harry : Handling Virat Kohli as his personal manager and on top of that add 10 other guys, do you think it's easy!? I will give you one week, do her job! Okay, let's make it easy for you, try handling our captain alone, let's see if you can or not! I can guarantee you all, you would be nowhere near her standards!

Jassi : Setting up schedules for all the players, keeping a track on the shoots, also keeping in mind that shoots don't affect our training sessions, and also looking into our travel schedules! What do you all think, it's easy !?

Ro : I will answer that for you all, no it isn't, as they don't get holidays. When we players chill, the staff is always there looking at our diets and schedules! Just because they all are behind the cameras doesn't mean you will degrade them!

Harry : We won't tolerate anyone targeting our family, be it Anushka, the staff or any players! You all can comment on our performances but none of you have the right to point out our backbones! Be it our dietician, our trainers, our physiotherapists or our managers!

Jassi : And today it's someone from our circle, tomorrow it may be a person who's isn't a celebrity but yet people would comment on his or her posts, commenting on their clothes or their physique or their skin! This trolling activity needs to stop!

Ro : Today indian cricket team, when I say ICT, it includes everyone, right from our ground staff to our players, start an initiative, #sopositive+, a fight against cyberbullying. The players and our team would join together against cyberbullying and cybercrime for each and everyone!

Harry : Let's join together and give a tight punch to all the trolls. Thank you.

Three of them sat down on their seats once they were done with what they had to say! Each and every player felt the need to take a step against cyberbullying and that's when Virat came up with this idea. They knew the power they held if they stood together, they could bring a change even if it would be small, it would still be a change!

ICT media manager : You all can go ahead and ask questions.

Media 1 : What exactly is #sopositive+ ?

Ro : It's a new page started by the BCCI and the team against the trolls and bullying. It would allow the person to get help from the required authorities and also the ICT if necessary.

Media 2 : Why this sudden outburst?

Harry : Sir, sorry if I come out to be rude, but what do you mean by sudden outburst! You want us to just see a girl suffer just because of useless people!? You want us to sit and see how she breaks day by day? I am sorry but we don't fall in that category.

Ro : Exactly! Just because of a few people, we don't want someone to isolate themselves from his or her family and friends!

Media 2 : So you mean Anushka distanced herself?

Jassi had enough of the reporter. He stood up, banging his hand on the table in front of them and said,

Jassi : With all due respect, although you don't deserve it, I am done with your stupid questions! After all we said, do you understand that private life is private !? I don't think so you do, I would have gladly brought a dictionary for you, but unfortunately I wouldn't find that here, so kindly open your phone and search for privacy’s meaning! We are here to tell you that trolls affect people, they affect you badly especially when they question your relationships with people, your character and your professionalism! That's indeed cheap and even if you don't want it to affect you, it does! Since you won't stop, I will give you a little insight just to shut your mouth, yes she did distance herself! She didn't attend the victory party, even when she deserved a break okay! And before you question my relation with her, then she’s my friend because not every guy and a girl need to be brother-sister or gf-bf! Happy with what you got!?

Jassi was done with the bullshit, he sat down and Harry passed him a water bottle seeing him all red! Some of the reporters clapped while some bowed their heads down in shame! It was needed, a much needed reality check to people who feel they can write anything and everything they want!

Media 3 : I would firstly apologize on each and everyone’s behalf, all the articles and posts about this topic would be taken down. My question is, who's idea was it about the page?

Harry : Virat Kohli

Media 4 : That's a great initiative! But as a reporter it's my job to give updates to the fans.

Ro : So who's saying don't give! We are just asking you to be considerate about what you write! I mean I of course expect you all to share about the famous RohiRat fight or about the banters we have on social media but instead of invading our privacy take the information from what you get from our accounts.

Harry : I mean of course people will ask about relationships, but when someone says that you will know when time comes, respect that instead of going behind them asking the same question again and again.

Couple of questions were asked about the new initiative before ending the conference. The boys moved out of the conference room and now waited for the next step that they had planned!
