"HEY, SO I'M GONNA NEED A NEW GUN."

Tatum Quinn had no idea what was waiting for her when she stepped into her unwelcoming home that evening. After the biggest scolding she had ever received from Kie lead to her precious pistol being confiscated, she decided it was time to go home and welcome her big brother back with a large chunk of money she stole from the safe. She knew she was going to be in a shit-load of trouble for missing half the day, but at least she had the cash to make up for it. And the true party never started 'till sundown anyway.

But the moment her feet hit the living room, she was faced with a nightmare. The grin she wore all day disappeared in a slit-second. The fun memories of the day evaporated from her mind.

"Thomas, what the hell happened?"

Her twin brother turned to face her, his hands stained with blood. But the look he gave his sister was not one like the usual. It was soft. Like he actually cared. No Quinn shared a loving look with another - it wasn't how their family worked. Especially when it came to twins. The two hated each other. Only hours ago, Tatum stabbed his spleen.

"Dad seen Joe kissing a guy on the beach," said Thomas. "When Leroy came home..." He turned to face the heavy body of their older brother - lifeless, spread across the floor in a pool of vermilion. "...Well, I bet you can guess what happened."

"Leroy killed Joseph?" asked Tatum, her mouth hanging wide open. Tears threatened to spill. She wouldn't let them. She wouldn't allow herself to feel anything over this. She was a Quinn. She was birthed to deal with this crap.

"Yeah, then left me to clean it because I was too pussy to stab him." A single tear fell down his face. He cursed frustratedly and threw a bloody sponge at his twin. "Help me out, will ya?"

She nodded without hesitation. Kneeled on the floor, covered in the sticky blood of her deceased brother, Tatum frowned. "Dad wanted him dead for being gay," she realised, and turned to look Thomas dead in the eye. "Who's gonna be next?"

Thomas grunted, scrubbing away at the floor. "It fucking better be Leroy."

Tatum gulped and brushed Joseph's hair out of his face. She didn't have any good memories of him. He beat up a few people for her, but that was just for their family reputation. The Quinn siblings were slightly chaotic in the way they showed their love, but every gunpoint and every stab really meant they cared for each other. And no siblings were closer than Thomas and Joe.

"I seen something today," she said softly, soaking the sponge in the boiling water. "A name on a drawer - it made me think of Mom."

Thomas rolled his eyes. "She left us, Tatum," he said roughly. "Don't speak about her in this house, and take that stupid coat off."

She sighed, and forced herself back into reality. The only real reason Thomas was even speaking to her was because they were cleaning the corpse of their dead older brother. Other than that, they were nothing - family was merely blood and a reputation to the Quinns. That's why Joseph was dead. Nathan couldn't have a gay ruining their scary rep, so he had his oldest son murder him - who was also secretly homosexual.

But this situation meant one thing. Leroy Quinn was back, and nobody in OBX was safe.

A/n: REALLY short chapter so I'm very sorry. But you know, cleaning up the blood of your dead brother is a very good bonding exercise.
