It was raining outside of platform 9 ¾ on the day of September 1st, 1997. The train whistles were blowing, signaling its approaching departure. A red head could be seen bobbing up and down among the crowded space, filled with anxious parents and last minute arrivers.

"Shit." Ginny Weasley exclaimed as the train started to move. she had forgotten her hat in the car and was now late. just as she thought she was about to miss the train, a hand stuck out of the nearest train car, and she took it. Once on the train she discovered that the hand belonged to one of her best friends, Hermione Granger.

"Oh my- ginny!" exclaimed Hermione, "You almost missed the train!"

"Ha ha, I had no idea, thanks for telling me though." they both laughed. "I reckon we should find a compartment" Ginny said. Hermione explained that she already was sitting in one, and led her to a compartment occupied by Harry, Ron, and Neville.

Ginny remembered Neville had come out as nonbinary at the end of last year.

"Ah, the usual." said Ginny, grinning and saying hi to them all, but glaring at Ron.

"Didn't you notice I was almost gonna miss the train for my 6th year at Hogwarts?" she said angrily, only half joking. "Well yeah", said Ron, looking defensive, "but you didnt! bloody hell, Gin, no need to make such a big deal over this..."

Ginny rolled her eyes and turned to Hermione. "Shit, did we have a summer reading assignment, Mione? If we did, I totally forgot about it." She looked funny. "oops" she added.

"Yes Ginny you asked me that last week when you sent poor Errol to my house with a letter-"

"Oh no!" cried Neville, interrupting Hermione, causing her to fold her arms, "I think I've left my toad on the platform. Just then, there was a knock on the compartment door, and it slid open, revealing a beautiful girl with long, white-blond hair. "Luna!" Hermione exclaimed, "I was wondering if you would join us!" "Oh, sorry, I just got held up by a rogue toad, I think it belongs to Neville." Neville went red, and accepted Trevor gratefully, stuffing him into his new cage. Everyone laughed and rolled their eyes, as this was a regular occurrence.

Luna Lovegood came into the compartment. She was wearing her Hogwarts robes already, with her classic radish earings in, and green eyeshadow. Her hair was let lose and-

'she looks quite beautiful', Ginny thought, surprising herself.

Luna sat down next to Ginny, who felt butterflies erupt in her stomach.

'what is going on?!' Ginny thought, and shook herself back to the present.

"Are you alright, Ginny?" asked Luna, looking a bit concerned and confused, "You seem really dazed right now, it must be the wracksurts..." She said knowingly, patting Ginny on the back in a friendly fashion.

Ginny froze at her touch and stammered, "I-I, yeah, I'm fline, I mean fine, I-". She turned bright red. The boys started snickering.

What was happening to her?
