Vara got up and went into her pod to put on something for her date with Azula. She grabbed her best top which happened to be a pink shell top with a matching necklace and bracelet.

She put up her hair half up and half down with two braids. She put a couple beads and accessories in her hair and went back to the shore.

As she was walking she saw that Azula was already waiting for her, staring into the ocean. She walked up to him and tapped him on the shoulder.

Azula turned around and looked down at her, him being slightly taller than her. He inspected every feature on her. Especially her new hairstyle.

He grabbed a piece of her hair, that was hanging infront of her face, between his fingers and gazed at it, "I like it." He said as he switched his gaze to make eye contact with her.

"Thank you." Vara said as she tilted her head down to cover the blush that coated her cheeks.

"Shall we go?" Azula said as he reached out his hand for her to take.

Vara shook her head as she grasped Azula's hand. He led her to the water, where Azula called his ilu.

"Does she have a name?" Vara questioned Azula as she rubbed his ilu's head.

"Blossom." Azula replied as he gazed at Vara.

"Wow, you picked the most basic name." Vara said as she rolled her eyes and stifled a laugh.

"Well what's your ilu's name?"

"Blue."

"And your calling mine basic." Azula said as he got onto his ilus back. "Get on." Azula continued.

Vara positioned herself onto his ilu and snaked her hands around his waist. He was warm.

Azula told his ilu to go through the bond. They sped off into the ocean.

"Where are you taking me?" Vara questioned.

"You'll see." Azula said taking a slight look back at Vara, who had her head on his shoulder.

Azula told his ilu to stop as they got to an island. He got off as he reached his hand out to Vara, who took it without hesitation.

"Have you been here before?" Azula asked as they started to walk further into the island.

"Yes you skxawng, I've been everywhere basically." Vara said as she smacked his arm lightly.

"Well maybe since you've been here before, you can show me around." Azula replied.

"Only if I get to pick our next date." Vara said confidently.

"There's going to be a second date?" Azula said as he stopped in his tracks and turned to face Vara.

"So, this is a date?" Vara said as she turned to gaze at Azula.

"I mean for me it is..is it for you?" Azula questioned.

"I think so. So can I pick the next date?" Vara said as she tilted her head and made doe eyes at him.

"Uh" Azula froze, Vara tilting her head like that and her eyes did something to him. It felt like an explosion in his stomach but he didn't seem to mind.

"So?" Vara said waking him out of his trance.

"Oh, yea. Totally." Azula said as he shook his head slightly.

"Come on." Vara said as she interviewed her fingers with Azula's and started to walk.

"So do you got any plans for tonight, shy boy." Vara questioned.

"I mean um no not really. I kinda just wanted to spend time with you." Azula said as he tilted his head down.

"Oh really. Do you think I wanted to spend time with you?" Vara said as she gazed behind her at Azula.

"I would assume. I mean you came out here with me didn't you."

"So you just assume?"

"If you want to go back we can I just—

"Relax, I did want to." Vara cut him off as she smacked lightly on the chest.

"Is here a good spot to stop?" Vara questioned.

"Um yeah." Azula stated as he looked around in awe, taking in all the bioluminescence of the plant life and the sea. How everything highlighted Vara's features. How the trees on the island lit up the sky and the sea.

"What is it?" Vara questioned Azula as she stood in front of him.

"It's just so...beautiful at night."Azula stated as he switched his gaze to Vara.

"I'm glad you like it here."

Azula and Vara sat down on the ground, across from each other.

"Can I ask you something?" Azula stated.

"Yeah."

"Can you tell me what happened to you family."

"Oh. On one condition. If I tell you, you have to tell me something." Vara stated as Azula shook his head, agreeing to the conditions.

"Okay, so what happened?"

"Well my dad died while he was hunting out in the reef and my mom couldn't live without him so one day she left when I was around 4 or 5 and she just never came home."

"I'm sorry. That must be so hard to live on your own at the young."

"Yeah but I survived with Tsireya and her family." Vara stated as she titled her head down and started to draw symbols in the sand.

Vara started to feel a burning gaze on her. She looked up at Azula and realized he was already staring at her.

"What?" Vara questioned.

"You still have your question to ask."

"Oh right. Um, do you have feelings for anyone on the island?"

"Do I have to answer with words?" Azula questioned.

"How else would you answer?" Vara questioned as she looked at Azula, confused.

"Like this." Azula said as he placed his hand on Vara's cheek, cupping it. His touch felt like a burn on her skin but she weirdly enjoyed it.

He started to lean in as he licked his lips. He gazed into Vara's eyes, looking for any indication that she didn't want this, but he didn't see any. He leaned in as their lips collided.

"Does that answer your question?" Azula stated as he pulled away.

Vara hummed as she gazed at Azula, speechless.
Azula smiled as he laid down on his back and looked up at this sky.

Vara sat there, still in shock as she inspected Azula. His abs and perfectly shaped jawline and muscles. How could she pull that?

As Vara's shock wore off slightly she laid down on Azula's chest. She felt his heart rate rise as she slid her hand onto his stomach.

"Azula is there something wrong?" Vara questioned as she looked up at him with a smirk on her face.

"Um no. Definitely not." He replied as he wrapped his hand around her shoulder.

Vara moved in closer as Azula tightened his arm around her.

"Do you think we can stay here tonight?" Azula questioned.

Vara mumbled as she shook her head positively against his chest. Her eyes started to drift close as did Azula's and they fell asleep there, on the island, together.

Longerish chapter for you guys. I hope y'all like how I wrote their first kiss. I kinda like it but also hate it with a passion.

I didn't really know how I wanted it to happen so I kinda just made it up as I go.
