so, I guess I am not the only one here who watches zootopia? good

originally, there was a darker version of zootopia, but sadly it was replaced by the current version. after reading through the summary of former zootopia, I would probably say that it was super mind-blowing

I hope the current movie is like that lol, but... the plot isn't exactly kids-friendly

ORIGINAL STORY PLOT

In the original script, all the predators in Zootopia were required to wear "Tame Collars" that would deliver an electric shock if the predator became aggressive. Nick Wilde would open an amusement park called "Wild Times" where predators could have their collars removed. Fearing that the predators would have their collars removed permanently, the city would send Judy Hopps to investigate Wild Times and close it down.

Ultimately, the reason why the film's plot was re-written because director Byron Howard felt that film's original plot made Zootopia be presented as a "world that was very dystopian right from the top and it didn't feel like a place where we wanted to be. We instead wanted Nick to just get out of the city. But we were trying to make this version work, because it felt like, there's a story there. But it got to the point where it was very hard to root for the city and we don't want to create worlds that we don't like, that we want our characters not to live in."

While the finished film's plot is very different from the original plot, a major change from it is that it switches the main character from Nick Wilde to Judy Hopps

In the original version of "Zootopia", one of the biggest changes is that the story wasn't told with Judy Hopps as our protagonist but it was Nick Wilde who would take centre stage as the films syndical main character. In this draft of the movie, all of the predators would wear shock collars that would give them an electric shock if they get too angry or even excited. The plot was centred around this theme pack called "Wild Times", where predators would be able to take their collars off and be free for a little a while. Nick would be the creator of the park and Finnick and Clawhauser (who was originally one of Nick's friends) would work at "Wild Times".

In the film, the idea of "Wild Times" comes to Nick when he has to have his collar taken off for a medical exam and after having the pleasure of his collar being removed, he has a dream sequence about him and his friends running in a field without their collars and that then leads to the inspiration for "Wild Times" and Nick being the con artist that he is, realises that there could be some serious money to be made here. So he goes to all the banks in "Zootopia" for a loan but he's denied one from them all but he then goes to a Polar Bear that he knows, who then lends Nick the money to start up "Wild Times".

It feels like I'm forgetting someone... oh yes, Judy! In this version of the film, Judy would have been sent to investigate "Wild Times" and close it down, as it is quite obviously illegal. So in a way, Judy is almost the villain in this version of the movie but since we haven't seen the full script, we can't know for certain right now what this draft could of been like as whole.

tbh I really like this kind of plot more. like zootopia is a bit... too positive? (I really like the action scenes of zootopia though, like the toilet part [spoilers haha]) but you know, since disney produces movies for kids, and these are a bit too dark

I can't stop thinking about this plot for this week, after I spotted this version. this will probably affect my future plot line, how I designed it. haha thanks for reading through this

I highly recommend zootopia. it's not really childish and it really is a fun as well as exciting story. this is the only one movie that I can't guess the ending and it really shocked me sksk. I really like this movie and I hope, if there is a chance, that I can take a look at the movie of the darker version of Zootopia as well
