I still remember that road trip earlier this year. my mum woke me up at 2 am and we all headed to a place for a short vacation. we have to hurry because of the unsafety to travel at that time

I still remember that one night, when my mother, my grandma, my sister and I went to a huge supermarket to buy stuff at 9 pm. we were not in the place where we are living, we went on a road trip to visit our relatives. we stayed at the place where I grew up in. dad wasn't there (I seldom see my dad) so we were free that night

normally, we would have gone to sleep, but it wasn't the same that night. we paddled through the almost empty supermarket and I was chasing my sister. then, we played a game which was me pretending to give bleach for her to drink and telling how good it was for her health and how tasty it was

that was truly stupid, but that was literally the best night ever. we walked through the groceries and my sister asked mum to buy everything that she wanted. I selected some tubes of toothpaste (because they were so cheap) as well as some chewing gum and pretty notebooks. my grandma was picking hangers for clothes and my mum was busy telling my sister not to bump into anything and running after her. then, I was picking the free drinks provided by the cashier (because we have got some special discounts and stuff) while my mum packed things up in our van and we headed back to our hotel

a distance away from us, Corona broke out in the place where we were currently living (still living now). the next day, the nerve started gripping our throats. at first, I thought it was so far away from us and wasn't really scared of it. however, I can hear my parents arguing about when to come back home on the phone. my mum preferred staying there while my dad told us to come back. the night after, dad left our home, he needed to attend some urgent meetings somewhere far away

that day, right after dad was away. mum and I stayed in the quiet living room with grandma taking my sister to the park. we listened to the report of how serious the virus was and the fear suddenly hit me. I went to the kitchen and took some candies, but they couldn't help me to calm myself. I gave some to my mum and we exchanged a nervous glance

mum driving, we were back at home. it has been ten months since that happened, and I don't think I will forget this trip so easily
