"LET'S BEGIN!" Johnny shouted as Clementine stood beside Sam. The energy in the dojo was palpable, a mixture of anticipation and uncertainty hanging in the air. As Clementine looked around, her eyes locked onto Alison, who sat attentively behind Sensei Lawrence and Sensei LaRusso, exuding calm authority.

Demetri, ever the cautious one, hesitantly raised his hand. "Uh, begin what exactly?" he questioned, his voice tinged with apprehension. Lawrence and LaRusso exchanged a look, a silent conversation passing between them.

"Begin a new era," Daniel began, stepping forward. "Many of us used to be enemies. But rivalries don't need to last forever. The All Valley Tournament is just a few months away, and this year, the stakes are higher than they've ever been. We know that Cobra Kai is gonna use every dirty trick in the book. There's only one way we're gonna be able to beat—"

Johnny interrupted with his characteristic bluntness. "By kicking their asses so hard they shit themselves," he declared, pacing with fervor. Clementine couldn't help but crack a grin, drawn in by Johnny's aggressive confidence. "We gotta take things to the next level. Gonna teach you an aggression stronger than anything Cobra Kai can throw at us. They strike first? We'll pre-strike!" he exclaimed, his voice brimming with enthusiasm. Clementine nodded along, feeling a rush of excitement and adrenaline.

Daniel took a step forward, attempting to temper Johnny's fiery rhetoric. "Okay, we're getting ahead of ourselves. We are going to respond to what they do," he said, his voice calm and measured.

"Eagles do not respond. They swoop down and take whatever they want. That's what we're gonna do. Take back the Valley," Johnny preached, his tone commanding and unyielding.

Daniel interjected, emphasizing strategy over brute force. "Take it back in a measured and organized approach."

Johnny rolled his eyes, clearly frustrated by Daniel's insistence on caution. "We bite first!" he yelled. Daniel sighed, exasperated by their clashing philosophies. Clementine and Alison locked eyes again, and Clementine wiggled her eyebrows, silently urging Alison to intervene as the mediator.

Alison cleared her throat and stepped forward, her presence immediately commanding attention. "Okay, how about we warm up with some simple exercises?" she suggested, her voice steady and soothing. Johnny and Daniel shared a reluctant look but nodded in agreement, recognizing the need to unite their students.

"All right, line up!" Johnny yelled, his tone authoritative. Clementine took a step forward, feeling the weight of the moment settle on her shoulders.

"And just breathe and follow me," Daniel instructed, demonstrating the breathing exercises that were a staple of Miyagi-Do's training.

Clementine furrowed her eyebrows in confusion but tried to mimic the slow, controlled breaths. Daniel and his students moved with practiced grace, their motions a blend of meditation and martial arts. Clementine, having only been in Miyagi-Do briefly before, recognized the exercise but had forgotten the details.

She glanced over at Johnny, her uncertainty evident. "Fighting positions!" Johnny yelled, cutting through her hesitation. "Right leg back!" Clementine and her teammates complied, shifting into their stances with a sense of purpose. "Front kick ready. Hi-yah!" Johnny instructed.

As they performed the kick, the dojo filled with the synchronized sound of feet hitting the air. However, in the process, Mitch accidentally kicked Nate, sending him sprawling to the ground.

Clementine burst into laughter, the unexpected mishap breaking the tension. "Shit, dude. I'm sorry!" Mitch exclaimed, his face flushing with embarrassment as he helped Nate up. Nate groaned, holding his side but managed a weak smile, appreciating the camaraderie despite the pain.

Now, they were all standing in different spots around the Miyagi-Do dojo, preparing for their next exercise. Mitch and Bert were paired up, ready to spar. "Ready. Fight!" Johnny shouted, his voice echoing through the dojo. Clementine stood beside Demetri, her eyes wandering to Hawk, who was leaning against a rock with his arm wrapped around Alison. She felt a twinge of irritation; despite Hawk switching sides, she still hadn't warmed up to him.

She turned her attention back to Mitch and Bert, who were going at each other with wild, uncoordinated swings. Daniel quickly intervened, pushing them apart. "You're just swinging at each other. Don't you teach any defense?" he exclaimed, looking at Johnny with disbelief.

Clementine rolled her eyes at the familiar argument. "I'll show you defense," she volunteered, raising her hand. Daniel smiled, appreciating her initiative.

"The best defense is more offensive," Mitch chimed in, just before Clementine walked up to demonstrate. With a fierce battle cry, she delivered a harsh kick to Mitch's side, followed by another kick to his chest, sending him crashing into the rocks with a grunt.

Grinning, Clementine pumped her fists in the air. Daniel sighed, clearly unimpressed. "That's not defense," he snapped.

Clementine shrugged nonchalantly. "He wouldn't shut up, so I was offended, so I defended myself," she retorted, drawing a laugh from Johnny.

"Good job, Cinnamon Girl!" Johnny praised, holding up his hand for a high-five, which Clementine enthusiastically returned.

Johnny then turned to Daniel with a smirk. "Also, why do you have a rock in the middle of your dojo?" he asked, his tone a mix of curiosity and mockery.

They changed spots again, and now Demetri and Sam were circling each other, both of them moving cautiously. Clementine blew a raspberry, feeling bored out of her mind as the two of them continued their slow dance around the dojo.

Daniel, observing their movements, nodded approvingly. "That's it. Keep circling. Don't anticipate. Stay focused," he instructed, his voice calm and encouraging.

Clementine sighed loudly, the monotony getting to her. She glanced over at Alison, who had dozed off in a chair, a soft snore escaping her lips. Johnny caught Clementine's eye, sharing her impatience with an exasperated look.

"Okay. One of you do something! What the hell is this?" Johnny questioned, his frustration evident. Demetri paused, glancing over at Johnny.

"That's not how this works. One of us has to be provoked," Demetri explained patiently, though his explanation did little to soothe Johnny's growing irritation.

Johnny squeezed his water bottle, and without warning, he threw it at Demetri, hitting him squarely on the arm. "Hey!" Daniel yelled, his protective instinct kicking in as Demetri winced and held his arm in pain.

"Provoked yet?" Johnny asked, his tone challenging.

Clementine was hiding in the bathroom, trying to escape Johnny's latest ridiculous task: cleaning his car and spinning around in circles as part of their "training." She leaned against the sink, rolling her eyes at the absurdity of it all.

Suddenly, she heard Daniel announce a ten-minute break, and with a sigh of relief, she decided it was safe to come out.

Stepping into the hallway, Clementine's eyes immediately fell upon Hawk and Alison, lip to lip, making out against the wall. The sight made her stomach churn. Without thinking, she let out a scream and rushed at them, delivering a swift kick to Hawk's side.

"Get away, cretin!" she shouted, her voice echoing through the corridor as Hawk doubled over, clutching his side in surprise and pain.

"Clementine!" Alison shouted, her voice tinged with a mix of frustration and concern as she helped Hawk up. But Clementine didn't stick around to hear more; she bolted down the hallway, her heart pounding in her chest. Alison, after making sure Hawk was okay, took off after Clementine. "Clementine, wait!" she called, her footsteps echoing in the mostly empty hall.

Clementine ran outside, her breath coming in quick, angry bursts. She found a secluded spot behind the dojo and leaned against the wall, trying to calm herself down. Moments later, Alison appeared, slightly out of breath but determined.

"Clementine, what the hell was that about?" Alison demanded, her eyes wide with a mix of anger and confusion.

Clementine glared at her, crossing her arms defensively. "I can't believe you were making out with him! And dating him! After everything he's done!"

Alison sighed, running a hand through her hair.
"I know Hawk made mistakes, but he's trying to change. We all are, remember? That's what this whole thing is about."

"Change?" Clementine scoffed. "He bullied my friends, he was a jerk to everyone, and now I'm supposed to just be okay with you two... together?"

Alison took a step closer, her expression softening. "People can change, Clem. You've seen it yourself. And Hawk is really trying. But if it bothers you that much, we can talk about it. Just, please, don't resort to kicking him every time you see us together."

Clementine sighed, her anger deflating slightly.
She knew Alison had a point, even if she didn't want to admit it. "Fine," she muttered, looking away. "But it's gonna take time."

Alison nodded, offering a tentative smile. "I get that. Just promise me you'll give him a chance. For me?"

Clementine rolled her eyes but couldn't help a small smile. "Alright, for you."

As they walked back to the dojo together, Clementine couldn't help but feel a little better. Maybe things were chaotic and confusing, but at least she knew she had friends who cared about her, and that was something she could hold on to.

After a long first day at the combined dojo, Clementine found herself on her way to her first therapy session. She parked her car, took a deep breath, and walked into the building, feeling a mix of nerves and anticipation. Approaching the front desk, she was greeted by a friendly receptionist.

"Hello, how may I help you today?" the receptionist asked, looking up from her computer.

Clearing her throat, Clementine replied, "I'm here to see Dr. Francis. I'm Clementine Katz."

The receptionist nodded and typed something into her computer. "Go ahead and sit down, and she'll be out to get you shortly."

Clementine nodded and found a seat in the waiting area. As the minutes ticked by, she tried to calm her racing thoughts. Just when she was beginning to feel a bit restless, a door opened and Dr. Francis emerged with a warm smile.

"Clementine? Come in," Dr. Francis said, holding the door open.

Clementine stood up, her nerves fluttering, and walked into the office. The room was cozy, with soft lighting and comfortable furniture. Dr. Francis motioned for her to sit on a couch while she took a seat across from her, clipboard in hand.

"So, tell me, Clementine, how are you today?" Dr. Francis asked, her tone gentle and inviting.

Clementine shrugged, trying to find the right words. "Okay, I guess. I had my first karate session today with two dojos combined and... it was really chaotic. The styles are different between the two," she began, her voice trailing off as she thought back to the day's events.

Dr. Francis nodded, listening intently. "That sounds like quite a challenging situation. Can you tell me more about how that made you feel?"

Clementine sighed, leaning back on the couch. "It was frustrating. Everyone was trying to find their place, and there were a lot of disagreements. I felt kind of overwhelmed, and at one point, I even kicked a guy for making out with my friend," she admitted, a hint of embarrassment in her voice.

Dr. Francis raised an eyebrow but kept her expression neutral. "It sounds like there were a lot of intense emotions today. What do you think triggered your reaction to seeing your friend with that guy?"

Clementine bit her lip, considering the question. "I guess... it felt like a betrayal. That guy, Hawk, he used to be a bully. He's caused a lot of pain, and seeing my friend with him just brought up all those old feelings. I felt angry and protective."

Dr. Francis nodded again. "It's understandable to feel protective of your friends, especially when someone who has hurt you in the past is involved. It sounds like today brought up a lot of unresolved feelings for you. How did you handle those emotions after the incident?"

Clementine thought for a moment. "I talked to my friend, Alison. She explained that Hawk is trying to change, and I guess I agreed to give him a chance, but it's still hard. I also went to the dojo and tried to focus on the training, but it's just a lot to process."

Dr. Francis smiled gently. "It's good that you were able to talk to Alison and express your feelings. Change can be difficult, especially when it involves people who have hurt us in the past. It's important to acknowledge those feelings and work through them at your own pace. How do you feel about continuing with the karate sessions?"

Clementine sighed, feeling a bit lighter after sharing. "I think I'll keep going. Despite the chaos, I love karate. It's just hard to balance everything."

Dr. Francis nodded. "That makes sense. Remember, it's okay to take things one step at a time. We can work on strategies to help you manage these emotions and find balance. How does that sound?"

Clementine smiled faintly, feeling a sense of relief. "That sounds good. Thank you."

Dr. Francis returned the smile. "You're welcome, Clementine. We'll take it one session at a time. You're not alone in this."

"So, Clementine... how are you? Really?" Dr. Francis asked, her tone gentle but probing. "You're taking your anti-depressants, right?"

Clementine nodded. "I've been taking them. At first, I felt like a zombie. It was also hard to dive back into the normal routine at home since my attempt. But it's been getting better lately."

Dr. Francis nodded encouragingly. "That's good to hear. It can take time to adjust to new medication and find a new normal."

Clementine sighed, her expression growing troubled. "I am worried about my brother, though. I think after he saw me... I think he's been in his own little world. He broke up with his girlfriend and barely leaves his bedroom. He only leaves it for school, if he even goes. He has good grades surprisingly. Maybe he just has senioritis, I don't even know."

Dr. Francis leaned forward slightly, her face serious but compassionate. "It sounds like your brother is struggling too. Sometimes, when someone close to us goes through a difficult time, it can have a significant impact on us as well. How do you feel about talking to him about what you've noticed?"

Clementine bit her lip, considering. "I want to, but I'm scared it'll make things worse. I don't want him to feel like he has to take care of me or that I'm blaming him for anything."

Dr. Francis nodded. "It's understandable to feel that way. Communication can be really hard in situations like this. It might help to approach the conversation from a place of concern and love. Let him know that you've noticed he seems different and that you're worried about him. Sometimes, just knowing someone cares and is willing to listen can make a big difference."

Clementine sighed again, but this time it was more a sigh of determination than frustration. "I'll try. I just want him to be okay."

Dr. Francis smiled gently. "That's a good place to start. And remember, you don't have to do this alone. You both have support, including me, and we can work through this together. How about we make a plan for how you can approach him?"

Clementine nodded, feeling a bit more at ease. "Yeah, that sounds like a good idea."

As they talked through some strategies, Clementine felt a renewed sense of hope. It wouldn't be easy, but with the right support, she believed she and her brother could find their way through this difficult time.

When Clementine got home that night, she took Dr. Francis's advice to heart. Gathering her courage, she walked down to the basement door and knocked softly. "Ty? Tyler, are you there? I just want to talk," she called out, hoping for a response.

There was only silence. Clementine hesitated for a moment before trying the doorknob. It was unlocked, surprisingly. She pushed the door open and descended the steps, the air growing heavier with each step. The basement smelled stale, a mix of old beer and something sour.

At the bottom, she found her brother, Tyler, sprawled out on the couch, surrounded by empty beer bottles and other alcohol containers. Her heart sank at the sight. Tyler was really struggling.

She ran her hand through her hair, feeling a mix of sadness and helplessness. His chest rose and fell with shallow breaths, reassuring her that he was still alive, but he was clearly blacked out drunk. Clementine frowned, her worry deepening as she moved a trashcan closer to him in case he needed to throw up. Thankfully, he was already on his side, so she didn't need to move him further to prevent choking.

Clementine took out her phone, her hands trembling slightly as she texted her dad:

Clementine: Dad, you need to talk to Tyler. He's in the basement, passed out drunk. He really needs help.

She hit send and took a deep breath, sitting down on the steps as she watched over her brother. The minutes felt like hours as she waited for a response. Finally, her phone buzzed.

Dad: I'll be there in a minute. Thank you for letting me know.

A few minutes later, their dad appeared at the top of the stairs, his face etched with concern. He quickly descended and assessed the situation, his eyes softening as he looked at Tyler.

"Thank you, Clementine," he said quietly, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "I'll take care of him. You've done the right thing."

Clementine nodded, her eyes filling with tears. "I just want him to be okay, Dad. He's been through so much."

"I know," her dad replied gently. "We'll get through this together. Go get some rest, and I'll stay with him tonight."

Reluctantly, Clementine stood up and made her way back upstairs, her heart heavy but relieved that her dad was there to help. As she lay in bed that night, she felt a glimmer of hope. It was going to be a long road, but with support, she believed they could find a way to heal together.

The next day of training began, and Clementine stood beside Demetri, feeling the weight of yesterday's events still lingering. "Ready, bow!" Johnny announced, and Clementine and her teammates bowed obediently.

"Sensei Lawrence and I have the same goal of preparing you for the tournament," Daniel spoke, his voice calm and authoritative.

"But we have different ways of getting you there," Johnny added with his usual bluntness.

"We realize that teaching you opposing viewpoints at the same time can be a little confusing," Daniel continued.

"So, we've discussed and come up with a solution. We're gonna divide and conquer," Johnny announced.

Clementine's face dropped, and she furrowed her eyebrows in confusion and frustration. "Eagle Fang trains out front," Johnny informed them. "And I'll be here with Miyagi-Do. Alison, you can choose a dojo each day to follow and be a mediator," Daniel added.

"I guess, I'll go with Eagle Fang," Alison muttered under her breath, walking over to Hawk.

Miguel, looking puzzled, spoke up. "I thought we were stronger working together."

"We're still working together," Daniel assured him. "Just separately. On opposite ends of the dojo," Johnny added.

Clementine shook her head, crossing her arms. She stepped forward, her frustration boiling over. "You guys really need to forget about the past and just work together. This isn't working together. I agreed that I would be here if you guys were working together. So, I'm out of here," she snapped, her voice trembling with emotion.

Ignoring Alison's calls, Clementine stormed out of the dojo. Her heart pounded as she walked away, feeling a mix of anger and disappointment. She had hoped that uniting the two dojos would bring a sense of unity and strength, but instead, it felt like the same old rivalries and divisions were pulling them apart.

She kept walking until she found a quiet spot under a tree, far from the dojo. Sitting down, she took deep breaths, trying to calm her racing thoughts. She pulled out her phone and considered calling her dad or Dr. Francis but decided against it. She needed a moment to herself to process everything.

As she sat there, she thought about what she wanted. She loved karate, but the constant tension and division were draining her. She needed to find a way to stay true to herself without getting caught up in the old battles that the senseis seemed determined to continue.

After a while, she stood up, feeling a bit more grounded. She wasn't sure what her next move would be, but she knew she couldn't keep doing things the same way. With a renewed sense of determination, Clementine walked away from the tree, ready to face whatever came next on her own terms.

As Clementine walked out to the front of the dojo, she was surprised to see a group of students taking turns kicking Hawk in the groin.

Her eyebrows shot up in amusement. "Oh! I'II definitely come back if we're beating his dick up!" she announced with a mischievous grin. She rushed over and kneed Hawk in the balls, sending him collapsing backwards in pain.

Alison, standing nearby, smacked Clementine on the arm. "Welcome back, Cinnamon Girl!" Johnny exclaimed, his voice filled with enthusiasm.

Clementine grinned, enjoying the momentary camaraderie. Alison was helping Hawk up, her face a mix of concern and irritation. "He's not a baby, Ali," Clementine commented, rolling her eyes.

Hawk groaned, still doubled over but managing a weak smile. "Nice to see you too, Clementine, he muttered.

After practice, Clementine returned home to find the house unusually quiet. Her dad and brother had gone on a retreat trip into the wilderness for some father-son bonding, leaving her with the house to herself for the next three days. She relished the solitude as she popped the cap off a cold Coca-Cola and took a long sip, savoring the fizzy sweetness.

Her phone buzzed, interrupting the calm. It was a text from Sam, saying she had tried to talk to Robby and found him at the skatepark. Sam wanted Clementine to talk to him.

Clementine sighed, setting her soda down on the counter. She knew things between Robby and the rest of their friends had been tense ever since the incident at Cobra Kai. Despite her own conflicted feelings, she felt a sense of responsibility to help bridge the gap if she could.

She texted back to Sam:

Clementine: Okay, I'll head over there. Thanks for letting me know.

Putting her phone back in her pocket, Clementine grabbed her keys and headed out. The skatepark wasn't far, and as she drove, she mentally prepared herself for what she might say to Robby. She hoped they could find some common ground and maybe even start to heal the rift that had formed between them.

When Clementine arrived at the skatepark, she spotted Robby laughing with a girl she didn't recognize. Anger surged within her as she clenched her fists. Without thinking, she pushed the girl aside, who protested loudly. Clementine hushed her with a sharp look and turned to face Robby.

"Hey, can we talk?" Clementine asked, her voice edged with a mixture of frustration and vulnerability.

Robby stared at her, disbelief written across his face. "So, Sam was right. You are off your rocker. She said you've been angry at everyone lately," Robby replied, his tone defensive.

Clementine met his gaze with a glare. "Look, I didn't even want to come here, okay? Sam practically begged me to come. So, I said yes," she snapped, her words tinged with bitterness.

"What is your problem?" Robby questioned, confusion evident in his voice.

Clementine scoffed, unable to contain her emotions any longer. "What is my problem!? Robby, you broke my heart! I really liked you. Hell, I think I even loved you. So, yeah, I'm acting out of anger because I miss you. I wish you had never kicked Miguel off that balcony. We could still be together, and you would be with me in Eagle Fang, with your dad," she poured out, her voice cracking with emotion.

Before Robby could respond, Clementine turned to walk away. His hand shot out, grabbing her wrist and pulling her around to face him. "What? What do you have to say?" Clementine snapped, her eyes blazing with a mixture of hurt and longing.

Without a word, Robby closed the distance between them, pressing his lips onto hers. For a moment, they melted into the kiss, the intensity of their unresolved feelings crashing over them. But just as quickly, Clementine pulled away, shaking her head in confusion and disbelief.

She ran back to her car, heart pounding. The kiss had stirred up a whirlwind of conflicting emotions. She needed time to process everything that had just happened and figure out where they stood.
