AFTER AN HOUR Had passed Colin pulled up to Jade's house. Jade got up from the porch walking over to Colin's car.
"Ar-are you sure we should be doing this?" Colin bit his lip, looking over to Jade.
Jade chuckled, nodding. She was using this as a chance to get to know Colin.
"Where to first, milady?" Colin rubbed his thumb over his rosary.
Jade hummed, looking around to find a place for them to go to. She tapped his shoulder, pointing at a library.
"You read?" Colin teased, sticking out his tongue.
Jade rolled her eyes, shoving him, playfully. He was a lot of fun. Colin parked the car then got out. He went around the car, opening it for Jade. Jade got out with a smile.
"Thanks, love." Jade winked, holding his hand.
Colin and Jade walked into the library. She guided him to her favorite part of a library. The occult section.
"D-does Jennifer know you read this stuff?" Colin stuttered, looking at Jade.
Jade grabbed a book filled with witch information. She sat down at the table, opening the book.
"Jennifer isn't my mother." Jade tapped his nose, smiling.
Colin scrunched up his nose, still not used to the touching. He looked down, chuckling a bit. Jade rested her chin on her fist, reading the book.
"Who got you interested in all this stuff?" Colin whispered since they were in a library.
Jade looked up from her book, biting her lip. Her brown hair was slightly in her face. Colin moved her hair out of her face, biting his lip.
"You did, actually." Jade blushed, fiddling with her fingers.
Him? Why him? They barely talked.
"M-me? Wh-why?" Colin questioned, tilting his head.
Did she like him from the start? He thought she wouldn't talk to him, because he was different. Jade chuckled.
"I've been sending you signals all year, dude." Jade chuckled, shaking her head.
Colin raised a brow. She had? He didn't notice.
"Wh-why didn't you tell..." Colin trailed off realizing why.
Jade sighed, rubbing her ams.
"Jennifer." They said in unison.
Colin frowned a bit, reaching over to grab her hand. Jade laced their fingers, rubbing her thumb over his glove.
"I wanted to be your friend, so, I took a little interest in all this." Jade smiled softly, giggling slightly.
Colin blushed, shaking his head. Wow. She wasn't so mean after all.
"R-really? I-i a-appreciate that, but why are you friends with her?" Colin questioned, he was curious as to why she still talked to Jennifer especially since Jennifer was the way she is.
Jade sighed, avoiding eye contact with him. Colin reached over, turning her head to face him.
"I won't judge you, Jade." Colin smiled, honestly.
Jade pursed her lips together. She could trust him.
"Jennifer wasn't always snotty. Needy and myself started to get closer when we got into high school, and Jennifer tried to win back, so I joined the cheer squad to keep our friendship afloat. When we were kids we were always close, middle school came around and we started to drift apart. Jennifer liked having me around, mostly cause we shared similar interests. Now in high school, Needy and I don't share interests with Jennifer, other than this. That's why Jennifer is bitter, Needy and I have more in common than Jennifer does with us both." Jade took out her bff's necklace from underneath her shirt, rubbing her thumb over it.
Colin reached over, examining it. He looked into her eyes, smiling softly.
"Wanna get something to eat?" Colin tilted his head, wanting to cheer her up.
Jade closed the book, standing up to put it away. She looked over to him.
"What did you have in mind?" Jade questioned, raising a brow.
He stood up, humming.
"Pizza?" Colin questioned, walking out of the library with her, fiddling with his rosary.
Jade smiled, nodding. Perfect.
"Okay, Gray." Jade winked, getting in the car with him.
Colin started the car driving off to find a pizza place they could eat at and get to know each other more.
