"I'm going to punch her in the throat."

"She's not here."

"I'm still going to punch her in the throat," Lilah told Tom, glaring at the ground.

They were taking a hackney back to the apartment with Paddy and Harrison, the rest of Tom's family in the car behind them. First they'd have to drop Haz off, then the rest of them, make sure everyone had their bags, and then they could get back home.

The entire situation with the elevator two days ago hadn't been discussed between either Lilah or Tom, mostly because both of them were too tired—what with the premiere, and Tom having to take pictures with Olivia on the red carpet, and Lilah's overwhelming fear that she'd pass out from stress.

There just hadn't been time.

Although the evening following the event, when Lilah was truly grateful she'd worn her converse and not a pair of heels, Tom and her shared a much needed and long lasting hug, much unlike the short one in front of everyone else that'd occurred.

Both of them just needed to be with each other in a way that wouldn't upset anyone else. Even if it was slowly tearing them apart.

The thoughts of their kiss in the elevator floated through Lilah's thoughts as she made sure Haz got all his bags into his apartment. There was fun in having to sneak around with Tom. But then there was the realization that she'd either have to do that for the next four years, or completely shut down the relationship.

There was no in between.

Lilah sighed as her and Tom hauled all his brother's suitcases into the house, quickly saying hello to Tessa, the dog trotting over to her immediately and nudging up against her leg to sniff her hand.

Lilah crouched down to hold the puppy's snout in her hands, chuckling when her tail wagged back and forth quickly. She scratched behind Tessa's ears and all along her back.

Tom asked his mum if they could take Tessa with them back to the apartment—her approval sounding from the living room. He grabbed Tessa's leash and picked her up to go to the car, while Lilah kissed his mum on the head and followed him back out.

They all hopped in Tom's car, the one he'd left in his parent's driveway when they left, and drove in the direction of their apartment. Although it didn't take very long at all, because it was only
around three minutes away.

"Alright we have two options, Lilah darling," Tom said, parking the car. "Drinking a shit load of coffee and binge watch Marvel movies, or take a nap and sleep until noon tomorrow."

"First of all you are the most amazing human I've ever met and I love you. Second, I'm severely sleep deprived but also way behind on laundry so is there any way we could do both at the same time?"

Tom unbuckled his seat belt. "Nap it is."

He'd kept up his promise of letting them both sleep until noon, mostly because they'd needed it desperately.

During their time apart from each other, while Lilah was New Zealand filming her tv show, which he was insanely proud of her for, there were a lot of times at night when he'd had his own selfish thoughts about her. There were times in the middle of the night where he'd craved having the comfort of having her body next to his.

But there was never the small dip in the mattress, never the warmth of having her head on his chest—for seven months straight. Or gay, he supposed.

Tom snorted, pouring a small amount of creamer into Lilah's coffee. She was still lying in his bed, asleep. A miracle.

But it might've been because he'd held her all night, kept her warm while stroking the hair out of her face, twirling it around his finger, that she'd slept soundly. He hadn't.

There was an idea going through his mind the entire ten hours Lilah snored softly onto the crook of his neck, one that made his heart thunder in his chest, but still one he'd thought about for the past two years he'd known Lilah. Joked about it with her, too.

Tom shook his head and carefully brought her the cup of coffee, making sure he didn't spill any on the floor in the process.

Lilah propped herself on her elbows, her eyes lighting up when she saw the mug, immediately sitting up to take it from him. "Thank you," she said quietly.

Tom smiled and joined her under the mass amount of blankets that she insisted on having with them while they slept, setting him own mug on the nightstand. "I was thinking of going back to the library today . . . you know, have some free time before Olivia flies here next week."

Again, one of Michael's little plans. If the press saw Olivia flying to London, saw him and her hug—possibly kiss—get the cameras to catch it, then all would go well.

And she could stay in a hotel while Tom and Lilah took up their space at the apartment.

"Can I come with you? I still have those books to return and I've had the guilt on my shoulder for like a year now," Lilah said, blowing on the steam of her coffee cup.

"Yes, it was implied that you'd come with me."

"Oh. Okay, well I do have plans later this afternoon to try and secretly Rick Roll you, so watch your back," she grinned sidelong at him as his shoulders shook with laughter. "And congratulate Chadwick on Black Panther—that movie was amazing."

Tom nodded in agreement. "Although we will have to discuss whether or not we're going to secretly make out every once and a while or just make out all the time and not give a fuck. Or make out like once a day and then be super depressed for the rest of it—"

"Please stop saying make out."

"Okay, but I'm just saying that we can do all the other stuff that couples do, like say I love you and shit, because nobody will hear us, and we can talk because . . . a lot of people do that—"

"A lot of people?" Lilah raised a brow.

"—and I can always smile and laugh and go out places with you because we've been doing that forever," he continued, "but the only thing that people go crazy for is the physical contact. And to be honest, I really like the sneaking around because it's fun, but at the same time I just want everyone to know that I love you so so so so so much—"

"So so so so so?" Lilah set down her coffee cup and moved so she was sitting on Tom's lap. He barely noticed.

"—because you're literally my entire world and I'd do anything for you to be happy. Like jump off a cliff kind of anything," he paused, "Maybe not jump off a cliff. But I'd totally face plant into the water of a pool for you. I've done it before, it hurts like hell."

She took his face in her hands and kissed the tip of his nose. "Hey guess what?"

"What?"

"I'd face plant into a pool for you too."

"Aww thanks," he said, heat rising in his cheeks.

She squinted her eyes, "Yeah you're welcome, but you seriously need to get a grip. I'm not going anywhere, hopefully you aren't going anywhere, and in three-ish or less years, we'll be fine and dandy, free as birds. Not my best analogy—but still."

Tom sunk down a little in his spot, thinking.

"But hey," Lilah spoke up again, "every day is a new one, so we're going to start today by finishing the coffee, getting dressed, brushing our teeth, and getting off our asses and out of this bed."

"What if I want to stay in this bed?" Tom asked, raising himself up a bit. He gave her a mischievous smirk. "With you and your ass."

"That's disgusting. No." She climbed off his lap and out of the bed, going to get ready for their little adventure of the day. Lilah twirled around, snapping his attention back up to her eyes. She pointed a finger at him, "Maybe later—but no."

One thing Lilah hadn't noticed the first time she was here, was the church that stood next to the library. Amazing structure, with ends and divots that would be more detailed if she walked closer. While Lilah drove to their already set destination, just next door to the church, Tom gaped out the window at it.

The library was just as beautiful as she remembered.

Even more, if possible.

Lilah and Tom wandered between the black shelves, watching their step for any loose stacks still on the ground.

After returning those books and relieving some stress off of her shoulders, Lilah was able to explore the other half of the library she hadn't gone to the last time she was here. A gorgeous black spiraling staircase led up to the upper levels, flowers and books engraved into the metal. Tom's hand found hers when they got to the highest level, gripping it tightly.

"Are you afraid of heights?" Lilah asked him quietly, mindful of the other people trying to read in peace.

"No I'm not afraid of anything," Tom said nervously.

"Okay Spiderboy, we're going stare out the the glass and look at all the people below, then."

"Yes but wouldn't that trigger your nelophobia?" he asked her. She raised her brows, so he clarified—"The fear of glass breaking."

"Alright, not cool. We can go back downstairs now."

"Come on I was joking, we can stay up here," he said, obviously fighting a laugh.

She rolled her eyes and tugged on his hand. "Not cool dude."

Lilah pulled him around the library for about an hour, not entirely reluctantly; he'd stopped to look at plenty of books. They ended up sitting down next to each other, knee to knee, arm to arm, against a shelf. Lilah flipped through the pages of a very aged looking book, completely invested in finishing it then and there.

Tom leaned his head against her shoulder, his eyes on their feet. She rested her head against his, her gaze still on the pages of the book.

Tom tapped his foot against hers. "Lilah? Do you think we could get some food after this?"

"Sure," she muttered, flipping a page.

Another few minutes passed by. His voice sounded quietly from next to her again. "Fries or Salad? Because they're two completely different food groups and I also kind of want some ice cream—"

"Tom if you want to leave we can go," she said mildly, not taking her eyes off the words on the page.

"There's no place I'd rather be in the world." He nuzzled his head against her shoulder again and kept quiet. A minute passed. "Lilah?"

She sighed a bit through her nose and set down the book, turning her head to look at him. "What?"

Tom smiled. "I like annoying you."

"I noticed."

Lilah laid her head down on his shoulder this time. After a while their fingers slowly intertwined, Tom's thumb gently brushing over the back of her hand. Lilah grabbed his own hand and held it in her lap, cuddled up against his side. He kissed the top of her head as she began to trace the palm of his hand.

She only did that when she was nervous.

"Tom?" Lilah asked quietly. He hummed his response, the sound reverberating through her. "I love you a lot."

She could feel his heart rate start to pick up in his chest from next to her, but he didn't say anything. His mouth opened and closed, as if he was trying to, but couldn't think of the right words.

Suddenly he shot to his feet and started pacing down the aisle of the bookshelves.

Lilah slowly echoed the action, not quite sure what was wrong with him. She grabbed his hand to stop the pacing and forced him to look her in the eyes. Almost like a fish, his mouth continued to open and close until Lilah told him to spit the damn words out.

His eyes, panicked, peered into hers. "I have a really stupid idea."

---

Lilah shut the apartment door behind them, the automatic latch locking it. Her grin was unfailing. She hadn't stopped smiling since.

There was barely time for her to turn around before Tom's mouth was on hers, before his hands were grasping her side. She lifted her hands up to cup his jaw and bring their lips closer together. He held his hands firm on her hips, tugging at them so their waists lined up.

Lilah's left hand ran slowly down the spot right under his jaw, thumb skimming over his drumming pulse. She smiled against his lips and continued the trail over his skin, until she was twisting a curl around her finger, lightly pulling at the hairs on his nape.

Tom's tongue brushed across the seam of her mouth, and Lilah was amazed at how much she'd missed the feeling of opening up to him, at having his body wholly against hers. His hands slid from her hips to her back, smoothing pressing her closer. Those hands teasingly moved down her back, sweeping over her backside, and slid all the way down to her thighs.

She deepened the kiss when he picked her up with such ease, his hands steady. His lips didn't leave hers while he walked them down the hall and to his bedroom, as he kicked the door close with his foot and pushed her up against the back of it.

Lilah's legs wrapped around his waist, her fingers still dragging through his hair, her thighs still steadied by Tom's hands, even as they were shaking with pleasure. Heat rose on her cheeks when his lips moved down the side of her neck, over her own pulse, to the spot right under her ear. Such soft, patient kisses, that left her back arching into him, her toes curling.

She was trembling, but not so much with unease, but with such want as Tom breathed her name over and over onto the skin of her neck, almost like a prayer. Like he couldn't believe she was real—just as he'd once told her.

When he lifted his head up from her neck and smiled at her, his curls astray, one sticking to his forehead with sweat—like an undulating wave, heat flowed through her, sliding all the way down to her core, which was practically molten. Just that damned smile.

Lilah, slightly taller than Tom while he was holding her up, dipped her head back down and kissed him again, firmer this time. He made a small noise into her mouth, something like a murmur of pleasure, that had her hands going down to the bottom of Tom's shirt and tugging at it a little. He answered her silent request by tearing his lips from hers and swiftly carrying her to the bed, setting her down softly.

In a hasty movement, he pulled his shirt off and climbed back on top of her, the only light coming from the moon outside his window. Lilah lifted herself up to claim his mouth again, while Tom's fingers slid down to her thighs—bare, due to the short dress she was wearing. It had been slightly rushed, but Lilah was able to find one beforehand.

With his knees, he knocked her leg to the side and lined himself up with her, his mouth not leaving hers. A small moan left her mouth when his tongue brushed against hers, bringing Tom to smile a little into the kiss.

She at last pulled away from his lips and stared up at him, her head tilted. Her fingers slowly drifted to his jaw, holding his face in her hands. "You're mine," she breathed, almost in realization—almost as a question.

He turned his head a little to kiss her palm. "I'm yours."

Lilah grinned and plunged her fingers back into his hair, connecting their lips again—the ring on her left hand glittering in the moonlight.
