chapter one, craving summer

" A kegger really ?" Summer scoffs, pulling out sarah's straightener from her bathroom cabinets " You know how bad that is for the environment?" she adds

Sarah rolls her eyes due to her best friends complaining "Come on summer! it's gonna be fun— you could wear this new dress i got!" she pauses finding the dress.

As  she straightens her hair, Summer shrugs looking at herself in the mirror " i don't know a kegger the day after agatha is an insane idea! Plus the cleanup after kegger is the worst! No one cares from the environment nowadays !"

Walking into the bathroom, with two dresses in one hand, Sarah's other hand lands on Summer right shoulder " Please summer, we never go out anymore...you're going " sarah smiles, handing the blonde girl an orange halter dress

Summer eyes go round looking at the dress, putting the straighter down " Sarah... on what occasion were you going to wear this tiny dress?!" she asks holding the dress up to her body

Laughing at her friend, Sarah smirks " you know" winking at Summer implying something, and ' ow ' coming from her lips as Summer pushes her jokingly

" I'm  joking sum!"

" Yeah you better! that's disgusting!" a mumbled voice comes from summer as she goes to sarah's room to change,  locking the door .

it took a while from Summer to get the halter dress on but once she did, it fit perfectly. surprising .

" Tada!" summer pops up with her hands in the air spinning for her friend " what do we think?"

Sarah's eyes widen, her eyes tracking Summer's body spinning her " You look so hot— i'd totally makeout with you if i wasn't dating topper" earning a laugh from summer

" You're dumb" Summer pushes Sarah as they laugh

The laughter was over once they heard a familiar knock. " Hurry the fuck up or we're leaving without you " Rafe's mumbled voice coming from the other side of the door

" We're coming jeez!" Sarah's speaks mumbling the last part, turning off the lights in her room and bathroom, as the two bestfriends exit her room

" Took you long enough" Kelce scoffs from the bottom of the stairs, playing with his car keys, as Rafe and Topper laugh.

rolling her eyes, sarah takes summers hand, walking down the stairs quickly. " you look good sum" kelce whistles, smirking at summer as she rolls her eyes

Rafe smirks laughing as he looks Summer up and down " Hell yeah she does" Rafe bites his lip looking at summer

" Think you are forgetting you are dating my sister Rafe— and shutup kelce" as Kelce tries to wrap his arm around her, Summer pushes his flirtatious action off , Topper laughing

" Who's DD tonight?" Kelce asks, the whole groups eyes shift to Summer

" You already know the answer kelce" Summer looks at him as they exit the cameron household, grabbing his keys to the jeep smiling " Finally get to drive her" with a smirk on her face summer runs to the drivers seat

Following behind her to the passenger seat in a panic mode " you better be careful Summer!" Kelce's eyes widen at her

" Just shutup and let me drive" she smiles at him from the drivers seat, driving away to The Boneyard 

" C'mon sum! One drink won't hurt" Sarah pleads her bestfriend, replacing the red solo cup filled with water with one filled with beer

Five minutes in, the group of boys left one oblivious blonde girl with her other blonde best-friend. wrong mistake.

" Sarah i'm DD tonight no thank you" pushing the beer in her friends hands smiling softly

" Whateverr you're boring!" Sarah scoffs giggling to her, wrapping an arm around Summer.

Smiling down at her already drunk best friend " Let's go find Topper! Does that sound good Sarah? Mhm yup let's go " leading her to what she thought was Topper and the other kooks

" She's all yours ... be careful Top! I'll  be right back" insuring the boy as also she warns him, leaving Sarah with Topper

Walking to where the drinks were located, she found herself a water bottle and a red solo cup. a trick summer learned a few years back. if people saw her with a cup, they wouldn't ask her for drink! right? she only told Sarah of her new trick

Pouring herself in the cup as fast as she possibly could, looking for an recycle bin only to find trash bags on the floor. " Does no one care about the earth anymore jeez " she asks to herself, putting the now shrunken water bottle in her purse to recycle later

" Didnt know you started drinking Sunny" popping out of no where, a familiar voice comes from behind her, sneaking over her shoulder to see her ' drink '

Summer turns around with the same expression on her face as before  " Hello jj " she look up at him unimpressed

" You know sunny— drinking isn't part of your ' act' " JJ sighs plastering a fake smile at the blonde girl as she rolls her eyes.

JJ always believed Summer's nice personality was a whole act and that she was really a total bitch ( like her older hot sister — words from JJ himself ) 

" Oh JJ-" she scrunched up her face pushing him away from him " First off there is no act so i don't know what your talking about" she finishes still looking at him

biting his lip, JJ pulls summer closer, wrapping an arm around her waist " I like when you're feisty " he smirks whispering in his ear to the now flustered girl

" Oh be quiet JJ! i don't want to hear it" after a couple seconds she pushed him off her scoffing , making her back to Sarah and her friends. she could still hear his stupid pitty laugh.

Summer never hated people — but JJ ? she hated.

Well, Atleast she tried to

" Be careful Sar ! " watching Sarah do something stupid. Sighing as Topper brings her down. In the corner of her eyes, she spots John B and JJ looking at their group. her eyebrows furring at the thought

" Summer! i missed you!" Sarah gets up from sitting down on the log hugging summer tightly around the neck mumbling unknown words as her face rests in Summers neck

" Missed you sar! It's bedtime though so let's go " earning a shaking head from Sarah and a nodding one from Topper. Grabbing Sarah's hand, Topper leads the three in front where they parked

" Oh wait, hey Sarah can i interest you in a tasty milwaukee beverage" he questions earning a scoff from John B  and Summer

" Leave her alone JJ " Summer gets involved getting a glare from the blonde boy

" No thanks" Sarah politely declines, the three trying to past through John B and JJ

It would've been fine if JJ just said okay and left them alone but he had to bother . " Cmon is it not fancy enough for you? "he questions trying to hand Sarah the beer

" No we were just leaving" both Summer and Sarah say at the same time, earning looks from each other smiling slightly

" Hey you know what? i'll take it. thank you man i appreciate it " Topper taking the lead, pleading with JJ as he tries to take the drink

Taking his drink back JJ scoffs " it's nice that you suggested that Topper but i didn't ask you" putting his finger face, playing with the boy " if you said pretty please, maybe "

" But you didn't "

" Oh pretty please "

Still playing with him, JJ moves to sarah trying to give her the drink, Topper pleading. " you can have it cmon sarah"

Before summer knew, the drink had been flipped over by Topper onto JJ. JJ launched himself at Topper as he fights back while John B tries to hold back JJ,

Summer and Sarah watching this all in shock, before she knew it Summer saw John B calming down JJ, backing Topper away.

" Dirty pogues" left Topper lips and before he knew it, John B lunged towards him. Summers eyes went round. " he's screwed" she whispered to Sarah, Sarah  pushing her off running to Topper  side

hearing Pop mumbling something, pushing John B away , Summer seeing Topper bring the first punch taking John B to the water.

" My god Topper! Leave him the fuck alone ! " Summer yells defending her old friend as she tries to pull him off John B , Topper shrugging her off

As John B gets up just to go back down, water is drowning John B's  face. All  you could hear in the backround were people screaming ' Fight! ' , Sarah's screaming , John B's friends trying to get Topper off,  and Summer yelling at topper

" Hey John B, don't make me drown you like your old man all right ?" Summer knew he fucked up hearing those words come swiftly off his mouth, her heart aching for the boy

John B pushes himself up as he hears that sentence launching to Topper ,  throwing punches left and right. From  the looks of it, the people around had made a circle with Topper and John B in the middle

John B lunged towards Topper, Topper taking him down in the water again, stuffing and splashing his face with the water, drowning him

Summer eyes widen walking over to where Sarah stood yelling " Topper stop! you're hurting him " earning a glare and a scoff from JJ above her

Sarah keeps yelling his name,  Summer aching not wanting to watch Topper drown her old friend.

Something  shiny caught Summer eyes. something in JJ's hand as he walked up to his friend and Topper, placing a gun behind the back of toppers head clicking it. Gasps were heard

" You you know what that it — your move broski " raising the gun higher on his head, spitting out his words

" JJ's got a gun! " was heard as everyone started running. Kiara, Pope, Summer and Sarah running towards them

" Chill dude!"

" JJ! stop!JJ! "

" Jayj cmon stop! " hesitating for a bit, JJ makes eye contact with Summer, squinting his eyes and furring his eyes brows because of the nickname

" Put the gun down" Sarah yells almost starting to cry

" Did you say something princess?" Pressing the gun harder to Topper head. Topper places his hands up in defeat " we're good we're good ! " repeating himself backing up

" Kie! can you check your physco friend, please ?" Sarah pleads looking at Kie, as Kie turns her head to her and Summer

" Sarah! you're fucking boyfriend almost drowned him?! " Summer scoffs her hands making motions. sarah's eyes widen. summer never cusses. only when she's pissed, and right now she was very pissed.

Sarah just scoffed and glared at her bestfriend giving her a ' are you really sticking up for them' look. Summer rolling her eyes at her immature friend's look

"Okay everyone listen up! get the hell of our side of the island ! " JJ yells, two gun shots were heard in the air

Topper grabs Sarah's  hand as she grabs summers running back to the car.

" god— this had to be the worst night of my life" Summer mumbled to herself, as Sarah cuddled Topper making sure he was okay.
