Waiting. Doctor after doctor came into the room to check on Maria and the baby, I couldn't bear to see the woman in pain. But she was and it was upsetting, especially for Nicolas, who couldn't do anything about it. Deep down I know Nicolas will be a great dad.

"Are you family?" The nurse raises her brow at me with question she must be in her fiftys.

"Yes I am." I say and she nods and makes me follow her into the room where Maria and Nicolas are. Nicolas is sat there comforting Maria while her eyes are puffy and swollen from all of the crying she had been doing from the amount of pain she experienced.

"So, your baby is fine Maria... He was just very active tonight." Everyone in the room lightens up but then Maria notices something odd.

"Wait... He?" She questions and the nurse has a smile that goes from ear to ear.

"Yes a he, congratulations Maria and Nicolas, you're having a baby boy. " Maria cries even more now knowing the gender of her baby and Nicolas is happy as a man could be. Nicolas brings his girlfriend in for a hug where she sobs even harder. The nurse leaves the room and I do so too, I feel bad that I've found out before Serena. But it wasn't exactly like it was planned.

Awhile later we all got back into the car, the car was full of relief and calmness. It didn't take us long to arrive back home. Everything was still so dark, minus the dim light forming from the stars. Nicolas and I helped guide Maria up the stairs back to Nicolas' room. We both lay her gently onto the bed where she instantly snuggles up to her pregnancy pillow, completely ignoring Nicolas' presence.

"Goodnight." I say and close the bedroom door, I head towards the guest bedroom and open the door, I close it back up and turn on the lamp.

"Fuck sake Serena!" I shout at her appearance. I wasn't expecting her to sit on the bed I'm sleeping in and make me jump. I examine her clothing and notice she's wearing fluffy pajamas which make me chuckle.

"Oh shush I was cold." She rolls her eyes and playfully laughs.

"I appreciate you taking my brother to the hospital." She smiles at me which makes me smile back.

"I was told I could tell you if I saw you before them, but, they're having a baby boy." I say and watch her expression change to excitement.

"That's great news! I can't wait for baby hugs!" She squeals and cheers around.

"I need to get into bed, what are you doing here?" I ask and cock up a brow, her excitement suddenly disappears.

"Can I sleep here tonight?" She questions, I nod and she gets on the right hand-side of the bed, I remove my clothing but put on a pair of comfy shorts and get into bed with her.

"I like your tattoo." She says planting her hand on my 'mum' tattoo.

"Yeah... I'm sure my mum will too, when I find her." I sigh at the thought, I've found no trace what so ever yet.

"We'll find her." She smiles at me and I nod, she comes closer and lays her head on my chest, it doesn't take her long to fall asleep. But her being peaceful makes me feel peaceful and I fall asleep not long after her. What were doing is dangerous. If her dad finds out, we're both dead.

𝐒 𝐄 𝐑 𝐄 𝐍 𝐀 • 𝐑 𝐔 𝐒 𝐒 𝐎

The sunshine stormed all over my face waking me up and making me open my eyes wide to look at Diego's face and body, peacefully sleeping there. I analyse his face and notice how long his eyelashes are, any girl would be jealous of those. I look at his stuble and smile. His eyes begin to flutter open and they land on me.

"Enjoying the view Il mio amore?" (my love) I look at him and roll my eyes, the corner of his mouth begin to move as he reveals a smile.

"Are you always this annoying when you wake up?" I raise a brow and he lifts me off of him and throws his body weight on top of me, making me feel squished.

"Di-Diego, I can't b-breathe." I mutter and he begins to laugh, that's until a knock arose at the door.

"Fuck." He whispers I look at him with a puzzled look on what to do, if anyone finds me in here I'm dead.

"Get under the bed. " Diego instructs and I obey and get under the bed as quickly as I can.

The knock was harder and more loud.

"Come in." I heard Diego speak and noticed black shiny shoes appear in the door way and make their way closer to the bed.

"You prepared for tonight Diego?" My fathers voice is sharp and questionable.

"Yeah." Diego says and sits up from the bed where I can see his feet dangle to the floor.

"Your father still not coming?" My father throws another question at Diego which makes me wonder what they're talking about, they talking about finding Diego's mum?

"No, he'll be staying at his place for the time being." My father must've nodded as the response was silent.

"The plane leaves at ten o'clock, make sure you pack." Plane? My mind boils with questions that I'm so eager to ask but I can't just yet, I need to wait until my father leaves. And with that thought the door closes and the shiny shoes escape the room.

I slide out from under the bed where I hit my head on the way out.

"Ouch." I say and Diego let's out a tiny chuckle before helping me up.

"What was that all about?" I raise my brow at Diego where he stays silent for awhile.

"Well..." Diego begins but doesn't finish. I roll my eyes and wave my hand in front of his face to stop him from spacing out.

"Well... We're flying to Russia tonight to find more information on my mother." I let out a small gasp... And look at Diego.

"How long for?" I ask softly but I don't think I'm ready for the answer.

"A week or so." I sit on the edge of the bed next to him where he sighs.

"I need to try and find her." I nod and smooth his back where I feel goosebumps arrive.

"I thought I was the only one who gets goosebumps." I say and smile at him, he comes closer and whispers in my ear.

"No Il mio amore." (my love) The whisper and tone of his voice gives me the shivers.

"What day is it today?" I question and look at Diego who begins to chuckle.

"Sunday, I'll be back next Sunday... Hopefully." He says and I nod. I really do hope he finds out more about his mother. He needs this closure.

The day flew by, Diego and I acted as if we were still civil and not 'friends' I guess you could call us that. I decide to go on a walk with Maria who is getting larger by the day.

"I heard your having a baby boy?" I ask and Maria's facial expression changes to excitement.

"Yes! I'm so excited!" She exclaims and rubs her bump with is containing her baby boy.

"Do you have any names that you like?" I ask and she begins to think.

"Well, Nicolas and I quite like Dante." Her smile lights up the whole park and I can tell that she is so excited.

"That is so adorable!" I smile back at Maria, and that baby name is really cute... I can't wait until I have a baby in the future. Our walk was long and full of beauty. The butterflies surrounded Maria, the weather got almost unbearable.

We got home and we instantly cooled down, I noticed Nicolas walking towards us and inform us that dinner is ready. We all gathered around the table. My mother and father were at either end, I was sat next to Diego and Nicolas and Maria sat beside each other, dinner was going well, but something felt different. We were all talking and laughing, my father poured everyone a glass of champagne, not including Maria of course she had a glass of water.

Nicolas stood up and our eyes all laid on him. He takes a deep breath and moves his chair slightly, he gets down on one knee in front of Maria. Oh... My...

"Maria, you mean so much to me and we're about to have our first baby..." He takes in another breath and reaches into his pocket where he pulls out a tiny black velvet box. He opens it up and Maria holds her hands up to her face. Tears begin to form in her eyes and Nicolas grabs her hand and looks at her.

"Maria, will you marry me?" He smiles at her and her tears begin to fall down her cheeks, she nods and pulls Nicolas up for a hug.

We all cheered and put all our glasses together.

Dinner went by quickly and before we knew it my father was getting ready to leave and so was Diego. I followed him upstairs where he began to gather his belongings.

"Good luck." I said with a smile.

"Thank you, goodbye Il mio a more." (my love) He moved closer to me and kissed my forehead. We both headed downstairs and waved goodbye to the pair.

I decided to head to my room and wait there and watch TV, meaningless TV shows. Nothing special on. I sit there and decided to message Diego.

'Hey, how's the journey?' I ask waiting for a reply.

'Hey, about to go on the plane now, I'll message you when I get there'

'Okay, have a nice flight' I left my phone alone and let Diego be on his flight.

'How is the journey?' Serena asks, must already be bored without my presence, I laugh and decide to message her back.

"Hey, about to go on the plane now, I'll message you when I get there." I press send and the private plan arrives and is all ready for our approach. Serena's father looks at me and gives me a slight nod.

I read my phone one last time which showed Serena's name and a message she had sent.

'Okay, have a nice flight.' I smile and gather up my belongings and get onto the plane, The plane has rows with singular chairs, I take a seat closer to the entrance and Luca takes a seat next to me.

"Let's get this show on the road." I nod at his words and we buckle up our seats and the plane comes to life and sets off into the sky.
