Charlotte knew one thing, she did not do relationships. Meredith and Derek were having issues, Cristina and Owen were also having issues.

Teddy was in love with Henry.

Actually, Charlotte knew two things, she absolutely needed to leave Meredith's house and find her own.

The baby crying, and the moaning coming from Lexie and Jackson's room. Then, on occasions, the fighting from Meredith and Dereks room.

Charlotte only didn't have her own place because she didn't have to pay rent at Merediths frat house. It was great. Except everyone was living there.

But Charlotte stayed at the hospital most of the time. She wanted to go into Trauma or Orthopedic surgery, so she was always at the hospital trolling for surgery's.

Which caused her to run into April. A lot. April was always there since she was picked to be the new chief resident.

Charlotte walked through the hospital. She saw Callie, Arizona and Teddy standing at the nurses station holding Sofia.

Charlotte stood there, beside Callie. "Hey, Sofia." Charlotte said, in a baby voice.

Lexie walked down the stairs with new interns, oh how Charlotte loved new interns.

Callie looked to the side, "Oh. Oh. New interns." Callie made a weird face, "I hate new interns."

"Seriously?" Teddy and Charlotte said at the same time.

"Ugh. Mm-hmm." Callie hummed.

"I love new interns." Teddy says in a baby voice, "They're the future, the next generation. Filled with hope and promise, innovation."

"Wow. Sex with Henry must be really good." Arizona says, smiling at her friend.

"Earth-shattering." Teddy says in a normal voice.

"I know that feeling." Charlotte said.

Callie chuckles, "We know." They all say at the same time.

"Not even Yang's gonna get me down." Teddy says back in the baby voice. "No, she's not." Teddy walks off into another direction.

April came walking down the stairs, reading a clip board, "Good morning and welcome to your fifth year of residency." Once April reaches the bottom of the stairs she sees Owen and Derek. "Oh, morning."

"Morning." Derek greets her.

"See you guys up there. I hear there's an omelette station." April says and walks off.

Charlotte watched the interaction from where she stood with Callie and Arizona. Charlotte rolled her eyes.

Callie eyes Charlotte from the side, but didn't say anything.

"I'm gonna go down there, I don't want April to yell at me." Charlotte said in a joking voice.

Once Charlotte walked in, she immediately noticed April trying to make herself known.

"Good morning, and, uh, welcome to your final year of residency." She looked around and noticed no one was looking at her. Except Charlotte. But she had moved towards the back. She didn't want to eat. She ate before work. "Um..this— this breakfast is the one time when all the fifth years and the attending's will be in the same room, so..so use your time wisely, residents..find a mentor..ask questions, get advise of your futures. And, um, I see your already chatting away, so that's— that's good." April waved the clipboard, "Just carry on."

Charlotte watched her with curiosity. It was funny and cute how flustered she got. But nobody needed to know that. She was a virgin. No way Charlotte would sleep with a virgin, and no way April would sleep with the hospital whore.

Or so she thought.

April walks off towards Bailey, "Dr. Bailey, how did you do it?"

Bailey starts talking about how she made her breakfast sandwich. Although, she knew that's not what April wanted to know.

"Uh, no, no, I, uh, I mean, how did you get people to listen to you as chief resident?" April questioned the shorter woman.

"Dr. Kepner, I am eating. Leave me alone with my food. Figure it out in your own."

"Oh, w—," Bailey left April there, not knowing what to do.

April walked back to her original spot, "Oh! Look, here's the chief!" She says once he walked into the room. This caught everyone's attention, "Chief, is there, uh, anything you'd like to say as we embark on our final year of residency?"

The chief nods and looks around, "You all know what you're doing. Just don't kill anyone."

Some doctors laugh before he notifies Meredith he needs to see her.

"Well, that w— that was very..inspirational." She tries talking again. "Thank you, chief."

Charlotte looks at April, Charlotte laughs as she walks away from her spot in the back of the room, out the doors and into the hallway, hands in her coat pockets.

It's not that Charlotte hated April, and don't get her wrong, she disliked her. Even more now that April of all people, beat her at the running. The only reason she didn't win, was because Alex told Owen she knew about Meredith messing up Dereks trial.

All the residents were standing in the pit, including Bailey.

Accept Meredith, since she was talking to the chief.

Owen and Callie come walking out, "We're going to the scene of an on-site amputation woman's trapped under her car." April starts following Owen as he continues talking, "You guys are gonna get swamped with bodies. Kepner, you're in charge till I get back."

"Yes, sir. Have fun." She smiles with excitement.

"At an amputation?" Callie asks.

"Uh, I-I meant good luck." April stutters.

Charlotte chuckles, "Sure you did." She mutters.

Once April walked back over she was standing by Charlotte and Cristina was talking to Meredith.

"You know what? There's bound to be piles of head trauma. Dereks gonna have to talk to you." Christina said towards Meredith.

"I got fired." Meredith reveals.

"What?" Lexie asked.

"What?" Charlotte repeated.

"The chief fired me." Meredith said while looking at Alex.

Cristina looked over at Alex, "You son of a bitch. I mean, are you happy now?"

Cristina started punching Alex in the back.

Charlotte moved from her spot and punched Alex in the face. And man could she punch.

"Charlotte! What the hell!" Alex yelps.

"Eh. That didn't hurt." She shakes her hand.

"Are you okay?!" April asks, alarmed.

"You and your big fat, stupid mouth!" Cristina said still punching him.

"Get off me. Get off!" Alex repeats.

"Kepner, control your people." Bailey told April, who was still checking out Charlottes hand.

Cristina was now punching Alex's chest, "All your fault!"

"Stop! Stop!" April tried to stop her.

Bailey came up and pulled Cristina back by her neck, pulling her back to the rest of the residents.

"Ow. Ow. Ow. Ow." Cristina repeated.

A paramedic came out, "You going to the scene?" Alex asked.

"Yes." He replied getting inside an ambulance.

"Wait. Wait. I didn't tell you you could go. I need you here." April tried to reason.

Charlotte rolled her eyes, and put her hand on April's shoulder. "Just let him go."

April felt her face blush at Charlottes touch. And it didn't go unnoticed by Charlotte.

But Charlotte didn't say anything. She smirked and walked back over to the rest of the residents with April following close behind her.
