Eli stayed behind Malia as they crept through the military vehicles, Braeden and Theo close behind them. Malia paused. "There's something wrong."
Eli took a sniff of the air as Braeden spoke. "Is it a scent?"
"I don't know." she whispered back.
"I don't think." Eli shook his head slightly. "Theo?"
"Oh, are you talking to me now?" he whispered his way, earning an eye-roll in return. Malia continued on, the trio close behind her as they headed from behind the tank.
"Deaton." Eli whispered. "I have his scent."
"Me t-" Malia began, stopping as they came around the corner and were staring face to face with Deaton, who was tied up and gagged in a chair.
Eli picked up on Braedens heart jumping, turning just as she tried to fire her gun at Theo, he caught her arms. Eli pulled Malia back from the fight that was happening before them, Theo yanking the gun away and shoving Braeden to the side. He spun around, firing the gun.
"Malia!" Eli yelled out as it hit her right in the abdomen, tumbling backwards as Eli caught her quickly. They fell down as he shook in a panic. "Can bullets kill you? Wha- can we heal from that? Can you?"
"Eli-" Malia tried to warn him through the pain, too late as Theo wrapped his arm around Eli's neck, yanking him back. The Foxx boy let out a growl, trying to pull his arm away from him.
"It was me, wasn't it? A chemo signal?" Theo asked, wincing as he felt a sharp injection into his neck. "Probably regret. Because I didn't want to do this."
"E-" Malia tried, but when she moved it hurt.
"Theo." Eli spoke softly, because he was getting third. His vision started to blur, but Theo caught him as his leg gave out. His voice came like a whisper. "Malia."
Darkness.
"Theo, please." Eli begged, he was tied to a pip. "Let me go!"
"I can't let you go. I tried to give you the choice and you didn't take it!" he yelled back at him. "I need you on my side!"
"Why? What's so important that you don't want to tell me?" Eli asked in disbelief, staring at him with a shake of his head. "You wanna kill me, is that it? Take my power too?"
"I'm not the one that wants you, Eli. I just need you." Theo said back with a knowing look. "You should have caught on my now. Look at Scott and Liam."
Eli was beyond confused, shaking his head. "Scott and Liam? What- what are you talking about?"
"Alphas want their betas close, don't they?" Theo gave a knowing smirk his way. "You wanna know who bite you so bad? Now it's time to meet him."
Theo latched onto the back of Eli's neck, breaking him free from the restraints and pulling him. Eli winced, but he knew if he fought back, between Theo and Tracy, he'd never make it our. The Reaken boy gave a harsh shove to Eli as they made it around the corner, stood before Tracy and a man on the ground. Eli swallowed staring at him. "What's wrong with his eyes?"
"Blinded." the man spoke from the floor. "But, my ears work just fine."
"I brought you to him before I put the plates in." Theo spoke, leaning on the doorway as Eli looked back at him. "That's how I knew where he'd be so I could capture him."
"Capture him? For what?" Eli shook his head.
Theo laughed as he walked forward. "Have you not been listening this entire time, Eli? Alpha! Power! I'm doing all of this for what you so graciously don't have a care about!"
"Don't have a care about?" he looked in disbelief. "Let me remind you that you've taken me multiple times now! I think I care plenty, thank you very much."
The man laughed from the ground. "You never said it was such a charmer."
"Yeah, with a big mouth." Theo bumped Eli's shoulder harshly as he passed. "You've got him now. You're turn to help me."
Eli looked toward Tracy, he knew he was strong enough to take her, but Theo was the problem. He was stronger and faster then Eli was, meaning by the time he took Tracy out, Theo would have taken him out. He stayed put, looking to his alpha. It didn't feel as good to meet him as he had hoped it would.
"I don't understand." Eli spoke as Theo drug him through the school library. "What was that?"
"I told you, i'm not the one that wanted you." Theo spoke, holding his arm tightly as he continued to pull him through. "Deucalion wanted to meet you in order to help me. He did. Now, I have to make sure you get back in the right hands."
"What's Deucalion suppose to help you with?" Eli asked, Theo pushed him into the book shelf to let him go slightly. "Would you just talk to me? I'm extremely confused right now."
"I save you because I liked you. In order to save you, Deucalion needed to change you incase the surgery didn't go as planned." Theo stared at him in annoyance as Eli blinked. "He wanted to meet you in order to give me what I want. You relentlessly ignore my generous offer on joining me, meaning I have to steal you with a sedative."
Eli blinked. "You liked me?"
"Why else would I save you?" Theo rolled his eyes at him. "I'm starting to rethink it."
"But, I thought you were doing all this because you wanted me in your pack." the Foxx boy shook his head slightly.
"Yeah, I do." Theo grabbed the book from the shelf. "But, that's not something I can force you to do like I just did. It's your choice if you want to go see Deucalion again, i'm sure you have plenty of questions."
Eli held his head up more. "I thought meeting my alpha would be better then that."
"It's not so great for all of us." Theo flipped through the book. "You better go. Malias probably already planning my murder."
Eli could hear her heartbeat down the hallway. He looked at Theo again. "Theo?"
He hummed, keeping his eyes on the book. Eli sighed. "Sorry that I don't want to be your Stiles."
Theo looked as him oddly as Eli turned, walking away as he started to run down the hallway. He caught the scent of Kira and Malia in the science lab, turning to go down the hallway, running fast.
He lost his balance and tumbled onto the ground with a yelp.
Eli sat up with a pained groan, getting to his feet as he pushed through the doors. "Malia!"
She shot up, a pair of goggles on her face. "Eli?"
"Oh, thank god." Kira sighed in relief.
"Where'd he take you?" Malia hugged him forcefully, stumbling back. "I couldn't get your scent. We thought you were in Eichen with Lydia."
"Theo had me." Eli hugged her back. "Then he just let you go."
Malia looked confused. "He just let you go?"
"He wanted to show me something." Eli sighed, because he didn't want to talk about meeting his alpha for a moment. "Wait, Lydia is where?"
"Eichen House. We're trying to find a way to save her." Kira spoke up, the broken light bulbs all around them. "Clearly, i'm struggling."
"Oh my god." Eli gapped in disbelief. "We have to save our girl!"
"You're good at this, you help Kira." Malia urged him to do so. "Do the clam thing. The heart rub."
"The what?" Kira asked in disbelief, Malia yanked her goggles off. "Why'd you take off the goggles?"
"Because this time you're gonna do it." Malia said confidently as she stared her way. "And it's gonna work. Eli know what he's doing. He's my anchor, isn't he?"
Eli gave a shy smile her way.
Kira looked hopefully as Eli nodded, grabbing her wrist. "Remember that you're in control here. No one else. You're the center of it all."
"Isn't that the problem?" Kira asked, letting Eli place her hand on her heart.
"No." he said back, holding her shoulder and facing her toward the light bulb. "You know how to keep yourself calm, how to focus and be in control. Be a alpha fox, okay?"
Malia gave a small smirk, getting a cheeky grin from Eli.
Kira shut her eyes with an inhale, her hand slowly wrapping around the wire as the light began to dim, but not go completely out. Eli smiled, looking at Malia as she nodded. "Kira, it's working."
She beamed in joy, the light bulb lighting up and exploding, the lights above them cutting out too. The trio shared a panicked look, Eli met Malias eye. "We should go."
"We should go right now." Eli agreed, circling the table quickly and urging Kira on, placing a hand on Malias back to push her through the door.
"She took out the whole school?" Scott asked in disbelief, pulling back from a relief hug from Eli. "I'm glad you're okay."
"Yeah, I almost had to tell my dad." Stiles wacked him upside the head. "Your worried mom plus my worried dad? You little shit head."
"Ow." Eli hit him in the head back. "I didn't ask to be kidnapped again, again, again."
"Let's hope there's never another again." Liam sighed, giving his shoulder a squeeze.
"She took out the whole grid." Malia corrected Scott's previous statement.
Kira sighed. "I failed every single practice try. The only time it was almost okay was when Eli was projecting into me. This isn't gonna work."
"How far can we get without the brownout?" Liam looked to Scott, Malia pulled Eli back to stand with her and Kira.
"The front door." Stiles rose his eyebrows.
"We're going." Scott confirmed with a wave of his hand.
"Scott, we went through boxes of light bulbs." Kira shook her her his way.
"It doesn't matter." he approached her with a shake of his head. "You can do this."
Eli looked at Malia.
"The key card won't work unless there's a reboot." Kira pointed out. "And there's no reboot without a brownout."
"I know you can do this." Scott promised her, leaning down on her level some. "Anyone here think she can't?"
They all pulled similar, unconfident, looks of agreement. Eli nodded, pursing his lips. "I've got all the faith in the world."
"Not me. She can do it." Liam agreed with him.
"I was the one who put you in the plan." Stiles pointed out with a knowing nod.
They all looked to Malia now. Eli gave her a knowing look. She sighed slightly. "What?"
"I believe i'm you too, Kira." Stiles encouraged her.
"I'm the one who's going to be locked in an electrical room with her." Malia pointed out.
"You said Eli helped, right?" Scott looked to Kira.
"Yeah, it felt like he had some sort of clam control over me." Kira nodded her head, getting a soft smile from Eli. "No, like, seriously."
"Okay, don't be dramatic." Malia waved her off. "He's good with words."
"Extremely." Liam had to point out. "Gets me through hard full moons with just talking."
"Also relaxes my anxiety when he's not stressing me out." Stiles pointed out.
Scott frowned his eyebrows. "Like, in more then a theoretical way?"
"Sometimes." Liam agreed. "Figured it was the whole beta thing."
Eli looked to Scott alarmed. "Please don't say anything right now. I'm stressing enough!"
"Okay, we focus on getting Lydia." Scott nodded his head, but what they all said reminded him of something that he couldn't quite put his finger on yet. "You stay with the girls and help Kira with the brownout."
"Got it." Eli nodded, looking to Malia with a clear of his throat. "Yeah, go EKM, we got this. Cmon, Malia, that's all."
She sighed, realizing they all were waiting for her to give some type of encouraging words. "You-you can do it."
Eli hummed, nodding her way with a proud smile, hand on her back.
Kira shook her head. "You guys are all crazy. We're gonna die."
Eli hummed, giving a tight lipped smile. "Extremely comforting, Kira."
