"Hayden, Hayden, you gotta stay awake." Liam spoke in the back of the truck, holding Hayden while Theo drove through the rain.

"I'm so tired." Hayden said back, Eli looked back in worry.

"Yeah, I know, but you can't go to sleep." Liam spoke quickly, trying to prevent her from closing her eyes. "How do we help her? Why doesn't she have what Eli has?"

"I don't know." Theo said back, keeping his eyes on the road. "When it's wolfsbane poisoning, you burn it out. But I don't know anything about mercury. Only about what's healing Eli."

"It doesn't make any sense." Eli said with a shake of his head, reaching back to grab Hayden's leg. "Hayden, hey, stay awake. We're almost there."

"Is she gonna heal?" Liam panicked, voice breaking.

"The problem is she's not really like us, Liam." Theo answered him honestly. "None of them are. They're more like-like cheap knockoffs. She might not be as strong as we are."

"Or heal like we do." Liam agreed. "Eli healed."

"Because something weird about Eli." Theo agreed. "They did something to him, I don't know what."

His words alone had the poor boy in his passengers seat on the verge of loosing it.

"She's not a real werewolf." Theo spoke to Liam again.

"What if we turn her into one?" Liam suggested, catching his best friends attention again.

"Nice idea." Theo said with an eye roll. "Except the three of us can't do that."

"But Scott can." Liam pointed out. He looked to Eli. "Why is he a real werewolf? Why is he just like us but Hayden and the others aren't?"

"Liam, I don't know." Theo said back. "All I know is that the plates in his back are what's keeping him alive. I don't know why he heals like we do."

"I'm gonna die." Eli panicked with a shake of his head.

"You're not gonna die." Theo corrected him.

"There's a reason i'm different. There's a reason i'm like all of you and not the chimeras!" Eli rose his voice in a minor panic. "Do I smell like you guys?"

"No." Liam spoke up. "Not at all."

Theo watched Eli rub his chest in a panic, looking over. "Eli, trust me, you're not gonna die."

"How would you know that?" the Foxx boy looked over, the rain loud in his advanced ears.

But, he was ignored.

"Malias not answered." Eli spoke in a panic as he came back to the animal clinic, looking down at Hayden's dying body in Liams arms. "Where the hell is she?"

"She's fine. It's Malia." Theo said back. The sound of the door opening had them looking over, Scott walking in, dripping in the rain water.

"She's getting worse!" Liam called to Scott. "I think she's dying."

Eli and Theo looked over at the McCall boy. "It's gotta be some kind of mercury poisoning."

"Scott, remember what you promised me. You said you'd do everything you could to save her." Liam spoke in a begging tone toward his alpha. Hayden moaned in pain, Eli went to her side as grasped her hand, trying to remember how Malia and Scott had healed people before. "If she's a real werewolf, we can save her. You gotta give her the bite!"

Eli looked over at Scott, listening to his heart rate. Scott stared at Liam. "No."

"What do you mean no?" Liam asked in disbelief, leaving Hayden with Eli as he stormed toward Scott.

"Sorry, Hayden." Eli whispered to her, letting her head rest on his chest as he rubbed her shoulders gently.

"Liam, look at her. She's too weak, it'll kill her." Scott spoke as they looked over, Theo kneeled next to the duo on the ground. "We don't even know what the mercurys doing do her. We don't even know if it is actually mercury. This can't be the only way to save her life."

"It saved mine." Liam glared. "And clearly, whatever makes Eli so special, something saved his!"

Eli knew that Liam was angry, and he absolutely shouldn't take anything he said to heart. But apart of him felt like Liam wished Hayden had gotten whatever immunity Eli had instead. Theo saw his look, nudging his arm to make him pull his eyes away. Scott shook his head. "That was different. You were hanging off a ledge."

"You promised." Liam glared at him. "You said you'd do everything you could."

"Which is why i'm not going to do something I think is going to kill her." Scott argued back, keeping his calm tone as he always had. A gasping breath left his lips, alarming the boys. "There has to be...there had to..."

"Scott." Eli spoke up in worry as he saw the McCall boy trying to grasp a breath that was not there. Theo stood up, tossing the inhaler in his direction. Scott caught it, taking a long inhale.

"There's another way to save her." Scott finally managed to say.

Hayden gasped for air in Eli's arms. "Guys, help."

"I don't know what the statistics are for surviving a werewolf bite, but she's definitely not surviving this." Theo spoke in a panic toward the pair, Hayden alarmingly gasping for a breath and weakening in Eli's arms. "We need to do something!"

Melissa showed up with a bucket of fluids. Liam looked over. "What's that?"

"It's called chelation therapy. It's what the plates in Eli's back are made from. Removes heavy metals from the blood but the problem is it can injure the kidneys, and Hayden only has one to begin with." Melissa said back, sticking Hayden with the needle as the girl winced in pain.

"You're hurting her." Liam grasped her wrist tightly. Eli put a hand on Scott's arm when he saw his body move forward, alarmed by Liams actions.

Melissa looked at her wrist. "And you're hurting me."

Liam let her go, realizing what he was doing. "Sorry."

"Guys, remember we're here to save a life." Theo spoke with a knowing look to each of them. "Not kill each other."

Eli rubbed Liam's back slightly. "I'm feeling it too."

"It's the full moon." Scott spoke with a minor panic. "We can feel it even during the day. We need to get Hayden figured out before tonight, it's Eli's first moon."

"And it's a Supermoon." Theo added, frightening the Foxx boy.

"Oh, how nice." Eli mumbled, hand rubbing at his chest as he bite his fingers. "Thank you for the reassuring words, Theo."

"What is that suppose to make you guys, like super strong?" Melissa asked, fixing Hayden up as she said so. "Super aggressive?"

"Both." Scott exhaled, meeting Eli's eye. "You're gonna be all right."

"Yeah, and what about all of you?" he asked with an alarming look. "You want me to rip your throat out? Parade around with you in my mouth?"

"What keeps you human when you know you're gonna change? You seemed to have good control for a new werewolf." Theo look in his direction, genuinely curious as to how Eli did it.

"How's it even gonna affect him? Are the chimeras suppose to feel it?" Liam asked with a look in Scott's direction.

"Eli's different, he's more like us then he is the rest of them." Scott shook his head, finding Eli's eyes again. "You know how to keep yourself leveled, I've seen you do it. It's why you have so much control."

"It's not me." Eli exhaled, face reddening as all eyes fell on him. "I need to find Malia."

Eli skated to the sheriff station, where Malia said she was. When he arrived, he expected her to be inside, waiting. But before he could go in, her voice rung through the air. "Eli!"

Turning back, he saw her getting out of her car. The boy pulled an odd look, hearing her racing heart, seeing the tears in her eyes. He dropped his skateboard. "What happened?"

She met him half way, standing infront of him with a blink, a tear falling. "I think Stiles and I just broke up."

That was the last thing he expected the heat today. Blinking in her direction, pulling an odd look. "What?"

Malia wrapped her arms around his waist, head falling into his neck. Eli hugged her tightly, rubbing her back, keeping her held in his arms tenderly, safe, and protected, because that's all she wanted to feel in that moment, and he knew her well enough to know it. Without realizing it, the feeling he began to get from the super moon started to fade slowly.
