"He's kinda cute." Braden spoke as she looked at a sleeping, curled up, Eli. "Kinda hard to imagine him as a mean werewolf."

"He's not mean." Malia smiled over to the sleeping boy. "He just doesn't understand, and it scares him."

"Sounds like someone I know." she said, giving Malia a knowing look as the Tate girl looked half way offended. "Until you met him."

Malia looked over to Eli again. "I know."

"Then be what he is for you." she said back with an eye roll. "That's all he needs. The kids got no clue about anything that's going on with him and the least he could have is some reassurance and comfort."

"I try." Malia defended herself.

Braden cleaned her bullets. "Try harder."

Malia sighed, sitting down on the couch and rubbing his head. Melissa came down the stairs. "I'm headed in for my shift. You guys think you'll be okay for the night?"

Eli woke with an inhaler, rubbing his eyes, head snapping toward Malia next to him. Braeden cocked her gun, making his eyes widen in her direction, not completely aware of his surroundings yet from waking up. "Do we really need to do this? Deaton said the Desert Wolf can't get her power back unless she comes for me on a full moon."

"Just because there are rules to taking power doesn't mean she plans to follow them." Braeden answered in return.

"Yeah, well, i've come up with a rule of my own." Melissa gave a knowing look, walking toward the door. "Never be too careful."

Eli tilted his head, watching as she spread the mountain ash before the walk way. He rose a hand, his voice scratchy and tired. "Yes."

"Yes." Melissa agreed, leaving them.

"Mason you know your part-" Scott began that night, circling the table in his jersey.

"Corey and I break into the Devenford Bus and search their shoes." he confirmed with a nod of his head, looking toward his boyfriend. Eli cracked a minor grin at the two.

"I take out the TV vans." Malia nodded her head.

"Right before the whistle, Couch forfeits the game." Stiles looked in Scott's direction.

"And I keep the bench warm." Eli exhaled, Malia rubbed his padded shoulders.

"The rest of us are looking for a size 10 with a bloody sole." Liam looked to Mason, then to Scott again.

"Just out of curiosity...what if it doesn't work?" Malia gave a questionable look. "What if we have to go up against this thing? I mean, I hate to bring up bad memories but Scott's still healing from what Theo did to him."

"No, he's not." Kira looked her way.

"She's right." Scott nodded his head, lifting his shirt up to show a completely healed abdomen. "It happened the night we got Lydia out of Eichen House. I healed. When we were all together again, when we were a pack."

Eli gave a little flushed grin. Liam cut in. "The Beast doesn't have a pack."

"Not like us." Scott looked around at the group all huddled in the chemistry lab. "We can do this, guys. No one dies tonight."

"Theo might know about me now." Eli spoke up to get his attention. "He let me go because he didn't think I had my power, now that maybe he knows-"

"He's not gonna do anything to you." Scott promised him with a knowing look. "And if he does, we'll know."

"I'll know." Malia reassured him, getting a knowing nod over his shoulder.

Eli sat with Scott as they watched Stiles go toward coach, trying to talk him into it. Eli watched in weary. "Oh, no."

Scott looked his way. "You heard that too?"

Coach blew the whistle, making the pair stand in worry as Stiles hurried back their way in a panic look. The players began to run out onto the field, leaving Eli on the bench as he looked around. He found his mom in the stands, giving him an encouraging wave as he did it back.

"Foxx! What are you doing?" Coach yelled at him, getting a blink. "Are you gonna get out there?"

Eli's mouth fell. "You want me to get out there?"

"Do you want me to say no?" he shot back in disbelief. Eli pulled his helmet on, hurrying onto the field as Adeline gave a cheer from the stands.

"What are you doing?" Liam looked at him as the pair took their places, Brett and Scott at the ball.

"Playing." Eli grinned, shaking his shoulders before focusing. The whistle blew, Brett had the ball and was taking off toward the goal. Kira hit him harshly, taking the ball as she ran toward the goal, scoring the point. "Damn. That girl has moves."

"I told you." Liam said back, the pair meeting eyes before looking toward the many Devenford Prep students on the ground. Scott hurried her way, Eli wrapping a hand around Liams arm to pull him toward Scott. "Go with the backup plan?"

"Go with the back up plan." Scott nodded in confirmation.

"Woo, back up plan!" Eli cheered with a grin, taking his place again as the whistle blew, Brett purposely ramming into Kira as she fell backwards. She swung her stick at his face, making Eli's jaw drop, laughing. "Oh my god."

"Eli, not time to laugh." Liam looked his way with a crazy look.

"I can't help it, it's Brett." he pointed out. The ref yelled at Kira, making her get off the field while Scott ran after her.

The game didn't go by as smoothly as they had hoped, Scott making it clear they just needed to make time, indicating they were getting hurt over and over. Eli held his sore ribs, walking toward coach before he nodded at him. "I was thinking the same thing."

Eli looked in confusion. "What?"

"Get on the field, right in the center." Coach blew the whistle in his face, Eli yanked his helmet off with a gapping look. "Don't screw this up for me, Foxx. Don't be a loser."

"I won't be a loser!" Eli grinned, yanking his helmet back on and hurrying toward the center, Brett across from him.

"Oh god." Liam braced himself.

Eli placed his stick next to the ball, Brett doing the same as the ref waiting, blowing his whistle. Brett had the ball, his leg getting tripping up by Eli's stick, falling as the ball flew. The Foxx boy out reached his hand, catching it in the net as a proud giggle came from his lips, taking off toward the goal. He dodged a few of Devenford Prep students, Liam coming to his rescue to get the others away.

Eli kept the stick straight, his back flipping over one of the other guys backs, throwing the ball as it flew past the goalie, scoring Beacon Hills the point. He gapped in shock, laughing at himself as he pulled his helmet off.

"Yes!" Coach yelled for him.

"Woo!" Adeline cheered from the crowd.

Eli grinned widely, looking around as he soaked up the first time feeling of having a crowd cheer for him and only him. He didn't get the high long before a loud, ear piercing screech echoed through the air, grasping his sensitive ears in pain. The speakers blew, sparks flying above them. Eli looked over toward Liam, seeing him taking off toward the opening of the school.

"Liam!" Eli yelled out, taking off with him as he saw the Beast lung over one of the busses.
