LIV. ๐๐ซ๐ ๐๐ง๐ญ๐ฅ๐จ๐ฏ๐๐ฌ๐๐ฅ๐ข
"Hello?" Eli held the phone to his ear, sat in his bedroom. He could hear slow breathing from the other side. "Hello? Is someone there? This is...well, it depends."
Then, a laugh, a familiar laugh.
"Theo." Eli sat up fully, his heart rate picked up in a panicked state.
He hung up immediately.
Eli hurried to dial the number back, being sent to voicemail. He got out of bed and pulled a shirt on, looking down as the phone rung again. The Foxx boy pulled it to his ear immediately. "Don't hang up."
"I shouldn't have called." Theo said honestly. "I can hear your heartbeat, I know you're scared."
"Psh." Eli scoffed with an eyeroll. "I am not scared."
"Okay." Theo wasn't convinced. "I heard you graduated early."
"Where'd you go?" Eli asked him honestly, sitting down on his bed one more time. "You saved my parents then just left before I could thank you."
Theo was quiet. "I shouldn't have been there."
"Maybe not." he admitted, crossing his legs. "But, you were. I can't thank you enough for saving them, Theo. I was going insane, without Stiles, then without them."
"Yeah, well, consider it payback." he admitted. "For all that shit I did to you."
"Yeah." he exhaled. "That was pretty messed up."
"I know." the Reaken boy admitted.
It was quiet for too long, Eli inhaled. "Why'd you call me, Theo?"
Theo shrugged despite Eli not being able to see. "I guess I was worried about you're annoying little ass."
Eli cracked a smile. "I was kinda worried about you too."
"Really?" Theo scoffed. "You shouldn't be."
"Believe me, I know." he stood up to walk around his room now. "But, I still am. You made me and Liam fight really bad, and I hate fighting with Liam."
"The two of you are still close then?" Theo asked him honestly. "I always liked the two of you together, you reminded me so much of Scott and Stiles."
"That's what my Mom says." Eli sat down again. "Liam thinks i'm leaving him, and i'm starting to think I am too."
"Why?" Theo pushed for an answer.
"I graduated early for a girl instead of having one more year with my best friends." Eli exhaled with a shake of his head. "I love Malia, she's probably someone I love the most, but I didn't realize choosing to spend more time with her would make my best friends think I was leaving him."
Theo wanted to understand but he couldn't. "I think you're a good person, Eli. Probably the best i've ever known. You're not abandoning anyone, and Liam will figure that out when he realizes how lucky he is."
Then, the call was ended, and Eli hated that he felt worry for the guy who screwed his entire life up.
"He's not answering our calls or text." Malia spoke as Eli opened the door. "Ah! My Swedish fish finally showed up!"
"I went flying off my skateboard and broke my ankle." he accepted a forehead kiss from her. "Had to let it heal. Who are we talking about?"
"Argent." Scott glanced over his shoulder. "And how MIA he's been."
"Argent Mia." Eli confirmed with a little nod. "It fits him."
"Maybe Argent just doesn't want to be found." Malia shrugged her shoulders as she picked a leaf off Eli's shoulder.
"Maybe he stole our tickets to Paris." the boy sighed as he sat at the stool across from Scott, Malia leaned against his back.
"Well, he would have his calendar on his laptop." Scott looked at the couple. "If we crack the password..."
"Scott." Eli faked a gasp, looking back at Malia. "Are you hearing this?"
"I didn't think he had it in him." she agreed, they both started to slowly clap in Scott's direction as he waved him off. "Bravo."
"Jippie!" Eli announced with a smile.
"Could you just-" Scott flushed slightly as he pushed the laptop over, Malia opening it up as Eli gave her his chair, now leaning over her shoulder.
"Gun." Malia nodded as she typed it in, getting an innocent bar.
Eli huffed. "How rude. Try ArgentlovesEli."
Scott looked over. "Eli, I don't-"
"That's not right either." Malia huffed after typing it in. "That's everyone's password."
"Clearly not Argents." Eli frowned. "What else does he like?"
"Lots of guns." Malia typed it in, once again, being incorrect. "Hunter!"
Incorrect.
"So rude." Eli rolled his eyes. "He really doesn't want us to find him."
"Why would it be hunter? Because Argents not even a hunter any more. I mean, there's not even hunters for werewolves at all anymore, right?" Malia looked toward Scott as his back was turned to the pair.
"What about mermaids?" Eli rose his eyebrows.
"Siren." Malia corrected. "If there isn't any hunters left, why would anybody think there was a hunter in the woods when it was actually just deputies?"
"What?" Scott looked back.
"Is going deaf a sign of being hunted?" Eli gave an alarming look. "Because sometimes I don't hear things, and now Scott isn't even hearing your hunter rant."
"It's not." Malia looped her arm around his waist and faced them back to the computer. "Give if your best shot. Out brain me."
"Aw, I think you're plenty brainy." he gushed with a kiss to her forehead, staring at the screen. "Let's make a spread sheet of all we know about Argent."
"Uh, guys I don't think that Argent took off from Beacon Hills." Scott got the pair's attention, looking back as he revealed a box of weapons. "I think he's back in business."
The two watched as Scott pulled a bow from the box, snapping his gaze their way. Eli's eyes widened. "I know that look. We better get out of his way."
"I think I know what his password is." Scott hurried over to type in his inner thoughts, Malia and Eli cheering on sync as it let them in.
"Let me know what you find." Eli hung up the phone with Malia, sat in the stands of the Beacon Hills side. He shoved his phone in his pocket, watching Liam and Brett run side by side before Liam flipped over his shoulder. Eli winced as Brett ran with the ball, throwing it as Corey ducked in fear. Eli rose his camera to zoom in on the net, seeing the large hole in the goal. "Show off."
"There he is." he could hear Brett run up to Liam. "There's the IED I remember. What's it stand for? Intermittent Explosive Disorder? What's it gonna take for you to explode, Liam?"
Mason jumped when Eli shoved his camera into his chest. "Ugh, Eli?"
"I'm trying to help you." Brett shoved into Liam when he tried to walk away. "You're not in control and if you don't fix it, someone's going to-"
He was tackled.
"Is that who I think it is?" Coach frowned his eyebrows as he looked closer. "Where was all that when I needed it, Foxx?!"
"Eli." Brett gapped as he looked over as the pair rolled on the ground. "What the hell?"
"Do not mock my friend." he reached over and shoved his lacrosse helmet, taking a deep breath. "Please."
"Fine, then you help him." Brett stood up as Liam walked off. "Unless you wanna be the one caught in the ring of fire."
"Liam doesn't need you're rude comments. It's really unnecessary." Eli got up and dusted off his pink sweater. "He's trying his best."
"Doesn't matter if he ends up hurting someone." he corrected, eyeing him. "Not everyone gets the luxury of being bitten and in immediate control."
Eli winced at his words. "Was that suppose to hurt me?"
"No, it's suppose to open your eyes more. Liam can't just control himself the same way you can." he corrected as Eli felt small under his gaze. "At least do your thing to help him."
"I hate doing my thing on people without them knowing." he admitted. "And Liam has said not to before."
"Look." Brett lowered his gaze onto him a little more. "All i'm saying is Liam is gonna hurt someone soon, and you have the power to stop it."
Eli opened the locker room door as Liam held a piece of paper in his hand. "Liam?"
He shoved it back in his locker and shut it. "Hey, Eli."
"Hey." he walked in with a small sigh. "I brought you a lavender infused tea. It's kinda cold now, mainly because it has been sitting in the car for a few hours, but it'll still bring your senses down."
Liam sighed as he took it. "I'm okay. Brett is just an idiot."
"He is an idiot." Eli sat down on one of the benches. "But, if you're really struggling, you can tell me. You can tell me anything, like we use to."
Liam kept his back turned. Eli could feel his feelings. "I haven't left, Liam. I know you think I have, but i'm still here."
"Not like how you use to be." he said, this time turning. "And I get it, I do. But I just feel like Mason and I....we're loosing our middle man."
Eli frowned. "You really feel that way?"
"Before all of this, it was only the three of us for so long." Liam sat down next to him with a small sigh. "And I know obviously the whole werewolf thing has changed things....but then you graduated early, despite already being a year older, and we don't do video game night anymore."
Eli shoved his shoulder into his slightly. "I'm sorry."
"It's not your fault." Liam shrugged.
"Yeah, it is." he corrected. "You're right...it's always only been you, me, and Mason. So, now that there's more then just the two of you in my life, I struggle to juggle it all. It's not that i'm abandoning you, or leaving you, I just can't seem to multitask very well."
"Yeah, you can't." Liam laughed slightly, making him smile. "Can we just...be the way we use to again?"
"Yeah, definitely." Eli smiled at him. "From here on out, I will find a way to be your best friend, Malias boyfriend, Scott's husband, Stiles brother, Masons study buddy, and Lydias ride every time she wants to say she hates the skateboard, even though we all know you loves it."
Liam laughed. "Okay, sounds good."
They bumped their shoulders together before the door opened, Mason and Corey running in. "Hey, guys. What are you doing here?"
"Looking for you." Corey smiled. "Hey, Eli."
"Hey, Corey." he said back.
"Yes, two in one." Mason rubbed Eli's head, looking at Liam. "History test tomorrow? We need to study."
"Yeah. Right." Liam nodded as Corey tried to lean on the lockers and completely lost his balance, Eli winced as he reached forward to help steady him. "That's probably a good idea since I have no idea what it's on."
Liam's broken locker fell to the ground. "It's on Mussolini and the role of fear-baiting in the rise of fascism. We can study together. Eli too."
Eli grinned.
"Can we take the test together?" Liam joked.
"Hey." Mason cut the little moment short. "Guys?"
They turned, following his gaze to be met with a trail of dark red blood. Liam stood up first, Eli let Mason and Corey walk infront of him before taking the back. Liam followed it, the boys stepping exactly where he was to come to a stop.
A bloody lacrosse player.
"Eli!" Mason yelled when Eli tripped and smacked right into the lockers, mid run. "Are you okay?"
"I'm good." he held his face, shaking his head like a dog. "I'm great."
"Hey." Liam got their attention, the four walking into the classroom to stare at the back of a boys head. "Aaron?"
"Hey, guys." Aaron smiled at them.
"Thank god you're okay." Mason sighed in relief. "Where have you been?"
"I forgot we have a history test tomorrow." Aaron said as he looked at the four with a oddly creepy smile.
"We've bene trying to call you." Corey pointed out as Eli gently cracked his nose back in place.
Aaron pulled his phone out. "Oh. Must have died."
