THE SHADE OF BLUE that colored her eyes reflected the sky in them. It was as if God himself had cut a piece of fabric from the sky and used it to enhance her appearance. Those sky-blue eyes of hers' had witnessed more than any child should have. Those sky-blue eyes were secret keepers of the untold murders of her parents. Those sky-blue eyes were the ones that latched themselves onto one brunette witch who seemed to make her forget the tragedy that appeared to trail behind her like a loose thread. Those sky-blue eyes were the key to everything, whether she knew it or not.

Fawn would be what one called a 'lone wolf.' She kept to herself, only making conversation with others when needed to—unless she was in class, in which her hand was always raised. Studying, reading consistently, completing and turning in homework before the due dates, sketching, and spending little time with her housemates were her quiet life— at least the life she preferred to live.

However, everything in her ideal life at Hogwarts began to change when she was invited to join the Slug Club and ended up befriending someone she had tried to avoid at every turn. Suddenly, the quiet and simple life that Fawn wanted to have swirled with change. Like mixing cyan and magenta paint to create a deep shade of blue, her life became more complex and deep-rooted than she ever intended it to be.

AND AT THE CENTER of all the chaos was the one person she could never take her sky-blue eyes off.
