If the description is a little too vague, here is some more information. The characters all went to college together at a small state school in Western Pennsylvania, Allegheny State (which is fictional). They met during their freshman year, and after the standard four years were up, they all went their separate ways. Vallie, my OC, reaches out to each of them after two years and invites them to come stay for a week at her family's lake house in the Poconos Mountains. Where it goes from there, I cannot say.

ii. try to pick an underused face claim please! I prefer that people don't apply with instagram models or tiktokers, just because it makes gifs and edits harder to make. But if you're struggling to pick a face claim or are unsure, feel free to reach out to me! It is also important the face claims used are reasonable for their age range. They should be around 23-25 (there's a range because perhaps they were young or old for their class going into college), so the face claim used should not be like Bella Ramsey (who is currently playing a 14 year old) or someone in their late thirties+ (unless you specify that you are using a younger version of them, which I am fine with so long as there are images from them at that time).

iii. this is not first come first serve. I don't want the story to become confusing/muddled & I won't accept anything that I don't think will fit. BUT you can most definitely apply more than once!

v. please be detailed! I want a good grasp on each of the characters and why they once worked as a friend group. The vibes I'm going for are really like That 70s Show or One Tree Hill, so each character can obviously be really different but they have a fully fleshed out personality that I can work into the group dynamic. because this is the most important rule, I'm putting the password here: what do you think your characters go to karaoke song(s) would be?

vi. you are allowed to suggest that your character dated or was romantically involved with Vallie during their college years, but I'll ultimately decide if it fits the plot. If it does not, I'll let you know and you can adjust accordingly! If your character is chosen, there will be possibilities for prior or future romance with other characters chosen, so keep that in mind when it comes to the relationship section.

PERSONALITY: Vallie is simple. She is sweet and kind. She is someone who, when caught in the right mood, can be a lot of fun. Catch her on a good day, and she will be agreeable to any adventure thrown her way. Other times, she prefers a simple night in and she will not bend or budge for anything. She isn't the loudest or most exciting person in any group that she's in, but she usually has a calming energy that can be necessary in certain situations. Vallie is good under pressure and in a stressful situation. She can think clearly and calmly, and will take the reins to get things under control if need be. She's not the mom friend, though. She doesn't fuss over the others or command them in anyway. If she had an archetype in the friend group, she'd probably be the innocent one, not because she is naive or lacks any certain experience, but because she just has that look about her. A major flaw of hers is probably her struggle to handle difficult emotions. She definitely isn't the shoulder to cry on, and she isn't the one others will go to for good advice. But, she'll be there for them, physically. She will sit with a friend while they're in a time of need, she just doesn't really know what to say. Vallie is not high maintenance or dramatic in any way. She is hard to offend, because she is typically such a carefree person. This can be taken advantage of at times, but that usually bothers those close to her more than it actually bothers her. She is a believer in grand romances and beautiful, always perfect friendships, probably because of her years of reading novels and watching movies and equating them to the real thing. It is not surprising for her to fall hard and fast. Vallie is not one to raise her voice or yell in an argument, in fact she avoids confrontation at all costs, which can certainly be frustrating for others. More often than not, she will apologize after a disagreement, even if she wasn't the one in the wrong, simply to have the whole ordeal be over with.

BACKSTORY: Vallie was raised in a pretty standard Midwestern home. Her father and mother both grew up in the town and never moved away, then raised Vallie and her younger brother, Ezra, there. Her father owned a hardware store and her mother was a stay at home mom. Her mother and her are pretty close, to the point that speak every day, even if it's just a quick 5 minute call. If she had to choose one word to describe her upbringing, she'd probably say 'boring.' She went to a small public school, graduated with around 100 other kids, then went to college on the other side of the state (about 4 hours away). To her and to her family, that was basically the equivalent of moving across the country. Vallie chose to go into nursing because she wanted to help people, and she'd always done well in science. She had briefly considered pre-med, then quickly decided she was not smart enough nor did she have the patience to go through 8 years of schooling. College was good for her, it was the first time she left her town's small bubble and got to meet new people. She even considered living in Pittsburgh after college. Then, during the summer before her senior year of college, she met Tyler. He had gotten a summer job working at a golf course in the Poconos, and was renting a place in her hometown. As expected for her, she fell hard and quickly, the cliche summer romance dream finding her. When she returned to school for the fall semester, she was different. She spent less time with her friends, opting instead to stay in and FaceTime with Tyler or plan trips to go see him (he was in his 5th year at a college in Rhode Island). The two got engaged after only knowing one another for 8 months, and were married in June, after she had graduated. They now rent a 2 bedroom home in her hometown, and Tyler works at the same golf course in the summer then at a ski resort in the winter.

The last time she posted, she shared a picture of her and Tyler on a trip to Yellowstone. She has not initiated any contact with the others, though in the beginning she replied when they reached out. It has been a little less than a year since she has talked to any of them.

I know, I have no self control. I keep getting ideas and I have a lack of follow through. For that I apologize. I know it's a lot of work to come up with characters and apply to these things, so I'm sorry I've been so sucky about it all in the past. I no longer have college as a worry, so I'm on more of a set schedule now. I've also been consistent with updating a story I have on another site, so perhaps I'm just fooling myself into believing I will be better. Who knows. If this sounds interesting to you, I hope you do apply!

I'm also not going to waste my time doing a whole character form for Tyler, Vallie's husband. The basics are that none of them like him, mainly because while Vallie spoke so highly of him, he always seemed cold and uninterested to them. His backstory does not need shared, because it's not one that the characters know. I picture his face claim as Jared Padalecki, but when he was Dean in Gilmore Girls.

Additionally, if you have any questions or concerns about how American college typically works, please feel free to ask! Your character doesn't necessarily have to be American, they could be someone who chose to study abroad, but I chose to set their college in America because it's what I know best.
