Chapter 3

Tiana's POV

So far, this school has been great.

Well, if we leave the stupid simpletons out of it. I know I'm hot, you don't have to bump into me to get my attention.

With the help of a few students, I made my way to the admission office to secure my schedule and a bunch of other things before I was asked to wait for my class teacher to come get me so he could take me to class.

Joel and Zaria's class. I smirked to myself.

I was a science student in my last school but I lied and told the teacher that interviewed me during my transfer exam that I was in technical class.

After much stalking, I found out that Zaria and Joel were both in technical class. I was able to get my transcript from my other school twitched a bit. Well after giving the head admin of my former school a good blow job, he considered it. I needed to be in that same class with them. That's the only way my plan will work.

Given that sciences share similar subjects with technical, the switch wouldn't be hard for me. The only subject difference was Technical drawing. I knew I could cope with that because I'm very intelligent. The only thing that could give me a edge right now was the element of surprise.

I highly doubt Joel had told Zaria about me.

"Tiana Dakoba." Someone called my name, bringing me back from my mind trip. I looked up to see a light skinned young man standing in front of me. I smirked.

Hello, Handsome.

"That's me. Good morning sir." I smiled, trying to put up a good girl behavior. He smiled at me and I knew I had entered his good book.

"Good morning dear. Welcome to Limelight high. I am your class teacher, Corper Efosa. Let me take you to meet your class mates." He said, turning around to lead the way.

Oh, a corper. I'm so going to enjoy my stay in this school. I thought with a smirk as I followed behind him.

We moved into the senior's block and I awed at how big the school was. The senior's block was a two story building with a large courtyard in between with flowers and all. My former school was never this big.

And here I was thinking the only thing good about this school was the uniform.

"We are here." Corp. Efosa announced and I looked up to see we had reached a class. I looked at the door, SS3 Silver was written on it.

Corper Efosa walked into the class and I followed him behind, my nose up in the air and my shoulders squared as a sign of confidence. I must not look intimidated by this guys. I needed to show them I was that bitch.

I looked around the class at the faces. Some people were still talking even with the class teacher standing in front of them. Some had their phones in hand, typing away. I looked for Zaria and Joel and saw them talking with another light skinned guy, they seemed so engrossed.

It got really annoying when Joel actually reached over to remove Zaria's hair from her face and then ran his finger down to her chin. The bitch was basically blushing. I literally threw up in my mouth.

"Alright. Settle down." Corp. Efosa finally called the class to order and everyone scampered for to their seats to settle down. I looked away from Joel and Zaria to the rest of the class.

"We have a new student with us this session. I know it's pretty weird to enroll a student in a terminal class but, here she is. So make sure she feels at home here." Corp Efosa announced before turning to face me.  "Introduce yourself to the class." He told me and I smirked.

"Hello Everyone. I'm Tiana Dakoba." I looked towards Joel only to see a slight look of shock on his face. I smirked.

Element of Surprise. Check!

"I hope to have a great and adventurous school year here." I announced, my eyes still locked with Joel's before he finally looked away when his light skinned friend called his attention. I saw him nod before turning to look at his girlfriend who in turn, looked at me. I frowned.

Does she know me?

"Welcome once again, Tiana." Corp Efosa said, drawing me out of my reverie and I looked at him. "There is an empty seat at the back. Go make yourself comfortable." He smiled at me and I smiled back. Then he placed his hand on my shoulder.

"If you need anything, my staff room is just right around the corner. Room three." He whispered before winking at me. I smirked

Message received!

"I'll be sure to remember that." I replied him before sashaying to my seat, holding a air of confidence around me. I heard whispers and I knew no doubts that I was the subject of discussion.

Immediately I settled in, I looked over to Joel's table and saw him staring at me. Even with him being caught, he didn't look away. I smirked even though I felt somewhat uneasy under his gaze. Joel used to be timid, could never hold a stare for more than ten seconds. I had to look away this time.

Be focused, Tiana. You've got this.

I looked at his side again and saw that he had stopped staring and was now talking to his girl friend in hushed tones. I let out a hiss, suddenly feeling annoyed.

****

"Long time no see, Joel Bamidele." I said immediately he came out of the lavatory. He seemed startled to see me there but he regained his composure, grimacing at me.

"Did you actually wait for me outside the male lavatory? Do you know how creepy that looks?" He asked me, not masking his displeasure.

Okay, so I might have heard him tell his light skinned friend that he was going to use the toilet and followed him. I waited outside the male lavatory. So what? It's not like anyone was walking around to see me.

"Well, I needed to get your attention. Just your attention." I stated, crossing my hands across my chest and pushing my endowed bosom up.

I had loosened the first three buttons of my shirt to show a bit of my cleavage. Joel has always been a fan of boobs. This same Joel rolled his eyes at me right now and crossed his hands across his chest as well, a bored expression on his face. I noticed his bulging biceps.

"Wow, you look really good. Have you been lifting weights?" I reached over to touch him but he moved away from my reach.

Okay, Ouch.

"What do you want, Tiana? A welcome speech?" He asked me, sarcasm dripping in his voice. I pouted.

"I just got to a new school and the only person I know here isn't even happy to see me." I said, my voiced laced with fake empathy. Joel rolled his eyes again.

"Yes, I'm not happy to see you. I honestly don't know what you are doing here, all the way from Abuja and I really don't care. But I need you to stay out of my way." He said.

The seriousness in his voice coupled with his unfazed expression hitting me differently. I covered my fazed expression with a smirk and moved closer to him. He stayed on the spot and stared at me.

"Why do you want me to stay away from you? I just want to catch up on old times." I cooed and he scoffed, muttering something like yeah, right. I ignored.

"Or are you bothered that your girlfriend would be jealous and throw a fit? I love me a little challenge." I sassed.

"Zaria is not petty like you." He stated matter of factly and it was my turn to scoff.

We'll see about that.

"Have you even told her about us?" I asked him and he scoffed out a mock laughter. But before he could even answer...

"Joel, you have been here for..." Zaria came into view and stopped short when she saw both of us. Joel stepped away from me and I had a smirk playing on my lips.

Let's see who is petty now.

"I came to check up on you because we have having prefects meeting." She continued, brushing her hand on his shoulder causing me to frown. She then looked at me.

"I see you have company." She was talking to Joel but was referring to me. "Hi, I'm Zaria." A smile spread across her lips as she stretched her hand for a shake. I scoffed and gave her a one over.

"I know you." Was my simple reply, totally ignoring her hand shake. Zaria smirked and withdrew her hand.

"Of course you do." She muttered, looking at Joel.

"Babe, come on. We should go." Joel said, swinging his arm around her shoulder. My irritation deepened. Zaria nodded and both of them brushed past me like I wasn't even there.

The fück?!

I turned around to look at them. Joel was giving her shoulder a gentle caress before he leaned to give her a kiss on top of her head. He never did that to me. It infuriated me to see how really happy they were. I didn't miss the look Joel was giving her when Zaria was introducing herself to me. A looked of admiration, pride and love.

He never looked at me that way before!

I felt a pang in my heart.

Jealousy.

Joel was happy.

And I wasn't.

"Excuse me?" A voice sliced like a knife through my reverie and I looked up abruptly to meet a familiar face. My suddenly bad mood immediately worsened.

It was the idiot that bumped into me on the assembly.

"You again! What the fuck do you want uhn?! You want to run me over now?! I snapped at me and he veered back a bit, looking at me like I had lost my marbles.

"Okay? I don't know what wrong with you but you need to move." He told me and I frowned at him.

Who does he think he is? How dare he order me?

"Excuse me?! Who do you think you are to order me?!" I snapped at him and he rolled his eyes.

"Well, since you asked. I'm a guy that really needs to pee and you are standing in front of the Male lavatory." He said, a edge in his voice. I looked back and saw that I was really blocking the entrance way.

Talk about awkward.

"Oh. Sorry." I muttered, moving away. He sighed and made to walk in but stopped short to look at me.

"A little advice." I looked at him. "This is your first day. Try to be nicer to people you are just meeting. First impressions do last longer." He stated before walking inside. I scoffed, walking away from the corner and back to the class.

Nice doesn't do anyone any good.

I have learnt that from experience.

A/N

I'm back with another update.

Rewriting and editing is very very stressful. I hope you guys are enjoying this redefined version just as much as I am. It's more organized than the last one.

Tiana tried to "make a move" on Joel but Joel is definitely not giving her that opportunity. Tiana and Tyler met again. Let's see where this leads.

After this Chapter, I will no longer be updating on Wattpad again, the rest would be on Pabpub. Don't worry, it's free for the time being. The link to access it is still very much available in my profile. You can drop in-line comments there as well, just like you do on Wattpad and you can follow the steps to review and rate this book.

Add Building Bridges to your shelf (library) over there as well so that you'll be able to get updates notifications when I update other chapters. I'll be notifying here on Wattpad as well.

I'm counting on you!
