(K so... I might've lied when I said this was a preference book alone... whoops.)

'Where the Hades is Austin?!'

Y/N needed to find him. Like, right now. You mind be wondering why. You see, they're best friends with the Apollo boy. And naturally, best friends told each other everything. From embarrassing stories, to funny jokes, all the way to something as twistingly confusing as a crush.

That last option was the reason the G/P kid was running around frantically in search for Austin. They had a crush on one of his cabin mates. 

Will. Sweet, sarcastic, kind, good-looking head medic.

Long story short, Y/N had been telling Austin of every major interaction between them and his brother whenever there was one. Just the exciting things; when Will asked them to dance at the last camp ball, when he tried to teach them to play the guitar, and so on...

So what happened this time, you may ask?

Will adjusted Y/N's grip on the bow, gently guiding their fingers as his hand brushed against theirs softly. He stepped back, giving them a once-over and nodding.

"And now... shoot."

Y/N did as told, taking one last breath before releasing the arrow. The dart flew towards the target for mere seconds, before coming to a stop right in the middle. Bullseye.

"YES! Good job, N/N!" The Apollo boy grinned, high-fiving his friend.

"Will!" Suddenly a voice called in the distance. The demigods turned. It was Carolina, one of Will's siblings who was also a healer. She stood by the Big House's entrance, sighing at the guy with a bleeding leg who was being carried in, screaming.

Carolina pushed her blonde bangs out of her face, nodding towards the small incident while looking at her brother. Mouthing the words 'I need you over here', she quickly went inside.

"Oh." Will frowned lightly. "Sorry Y/N, see you at the campfire." He mumbled. Y/N wanted to open their mouth to say goodbye, but their mind blanked when they felt a pair of lips pressing against their cheek suddenly.

Will took off, leaving a very flustered Y/N to stand there. 

If only he knew what he was doing to them.

They finally reached the Apollo cabin to find Austin on the front porch, polishing his saxophone. He paused when he saw them looking so aroused and arched an eyebrow. "Howdy, friend. What's... going on?"

"Austin," Y/N sighed. "I need somebody to rant to. Again."

"Ooh. Is this about a certain brother of mine?" Austin wiggled his eyebrows, to which Y/N groaned. "Dude! You can't just say that out loud! Not here." They whispered.

The child of G/P grabbed his arm and started dragging him to a grassy spot by the forest, away from the cabins and all the people around. Sitting down into the grass, they let go of Austin. 

"Soo.. What's today's entry in the daily Crush-On-Will-Solace blog? You seem excited." He mused.

His friend let out a huff. "Okay so; Will and I were trying to work on my archery skills."

"Oh yeah. Those are terrible."

"He adjusted my grip on the bow and everything and when I shot I got a bullseye! He told me good job but then there was some injured camper and Carolina needed help in the infirmary and before he left he kissed my cheek!" Y/N squealed, face reddening.

Austin was silent for a whole while, so much that the other almost wondered if he had heard them at all. Then he suddenly gasped loudly. "WHAT?! My baby brother-"

"Aren't y'all the same age?"

"Hush! My baby brother kissed my best friend!"

The child of G/P glared at him, though it was clear they fought back a smirk. Austin leaned back. "That's pretty much all the clarification I need to know he likes you too. You should confess."

Y/N rolled their eyes. "Oh yeah? What am I supposed to say? Hey Will, I know this is weird and it could absolutely ruin our friendship but I'm hopelessly and utterly in love with you! You're the nicest person I know, you're always there for me and everybody else and everytime I look at you I get lost in your beautiful blue eyes and-"

"Alright, alright, I get it. You love Will." Austin interrupted, sighing. The Apollo boy put a hand to his chin in thought. "Well, maybe me and Kayla could set you up somehow. How about-" He started, but was abruptly interrupted by the sound of a twig snapping.

Both demigods whipped their heads in the direction of the sound, finding none other than Will Solace with a bag of healing herbs slung over his shoulder, gaping right back at them with wide eyes. 

And judging by his expression, he heard what Y/N and Austin were discussing just now.

Ah shit.

Will adjusted his grip on his bag with uncertainty. "Uh..."

"That's my cue to leave." Austin quipped helpfully before turning the opposite direction and taking off.

Deciding to ignore him, Y/N awkwardly stared at Will before clearing their throat.

"Um. About what you just heard-"

"You're in love with me?" Will interrupted.

As fast forward as ever.

The G/P kid bit their lip. "You weren't supposed to hear any of that."

"And you're dodging the question."

"Okay fine!" They blurted, not being able to keep it in anymore. "Yes I'm in love with you, and I'm sorry that you found out like this. It's probably weird for you so... I hope we could at least still be friends if you want." Y/N took a deep breath, keeping their eyes trained on the ground to avoid seeing the Apollo boy's reaction.

"And it's okay if you don't feel the same." They added.

It's not.

Will looked at them as though they were crazy. "What are you talking about? Why wouldn't I feel the same?"

Y/N froze.

Letting out a heavy sigh, Will composed himself. "Let me start over. What you said, about me, I.... didn't know you thought of me like that. But uh.. I'm glad you do. It's quite similar to how I see you, actually." A soft smile graced his features.

Suprised at his confession, Y/N barely registered that he stepped forward and took their hands in his. "I- uh, you..?-"

They paused to gather their thoughts. "You like me back?" 

"That's pretty much what I just said, yeah." 

"Oh." Y/N laughed a little, giving his hands a squeeze. "Oh my gods. That's- that's amazing!" 

"So-" 

"-so will you go out with me?" Y/N interjected, a question that has been on the tip of their tongue for so, oh so long. They swore the sun burned even brighter in the distance when Will smiled. "Yes!" He beamed, his face dusted red.

And despite the growing grin on their face, their breath caught when he pulled them closer into an embrace. Nontheless, they hugged back quickly, barely able to calm down their racing heart.

"Were you seriously confiding in Austin about your crush on me though?" Will asked, arching a brow once he pulled away.

"I mean, yeah." The G/P kid shrugged. "He's my best friend. And you know he would've probably realized it anyway." 

He rolled his eyes. "He's like the least trustworthy person in my cabin. Except maybe Kayla."

Y/N faux-shivered. "Truly a terrifying duo."

The two looked at each other, then burst out laughing. Will slipped his hand in theirs again.

Guess something good came out of this secret after all.
